Since I spend most of my M4M time loitering in the strip club forum I figured I'd make post 1,000 here. I have noticed that message center members make a big deal when they get to post 1,000, 2,000 or even 5,000 like Lucky (and he really doesn’t look a day over 3,825 posts). So I figured I wouldn’t break from tradition and do the same! I am going to treat this like a Grammy acceptance speech and a Barbara Walters Interview.

First and foremost I would like to thank NYO. In the Apollo lounge back in the summer of 2002 I met NYO and he gave me the address for this website. Thanks to this website I have opened my mind on many political and social views, examined my own values and generally had a great time. Thanks NYO. You were my conduit for meeting new friends and opening my mind. I am thankful for all of the message center members I have met online (too many to mention) who have made me laugh and think.

Secondly, thanks to Hooboy for providing this website and Daddy for making sure the technology behaves. I also thank the moderators for their work and assistance in making sure everyone plays nicely in the sandbox.

Lastly, I am thankful for the wonderful friends I have met because of this message center and the great times I have had with them at RED, Stella’s, Buddies, LaFluer’s, Gaiety, SBNY, etc. I would like to especially give e-hugs to Cooper, Groca and Luso. I have had some wonderful times with all three of these fine people. Groca, on so many occasions, has been a gracious host to me, Luso is a kind and wonderful soul who I have had many laughs with, and Cooper is a man I respect and admire for many reasons. His advice on personal and professional matters has been a beacon of light during times of doubt and fog. THANK YOU COOPER.

Now, at post 1,000, I have to ask myself, “What the hell have I said?!?”. I mean 1,000 posts are a lot! Did I really say anything meaningful or was it all fluff and nude pics? Well, I would like to share with you some of my favorite things in life so you can learn more about me … the man, the myth, the psychologically challenged.

Here are just 10 of my many favorite things.

http://www.picrack.com/001/other/lost001.jpg

The ABC Show LOST. LOVE IT! And every time I hear the French transmission I STILL get chills!

http://www.picrack.com/001/other/voy.jpg

Star Trek Voyager. As you can see I love the lost theme. This is my fav of all Star Trek incarnations. 7 years these people were lost and far away from home. Fascinating.

http://www.jumpradio.de/musik/pics-musik/a-ha_1_390.jpg

a-ha. They are Norway’s gift to the world. They are WAY MORE than a one hit wonder. Their music is the soundtrack to my soul.

http://w1.1465.telia.com/~u155900388/images/che_billedet.jpg

Ernesto “Che” Guevara. A man with a message and a vision. He gave us more than a fashion statement people!

http://www.clothmonkey.com/images/tenuta.jpg

She makes me wet my pants. The best comedian ever!

http://etcatholic.com/sept7/wire%20pope25d.jpg

Pope John Paul II. He makes me want to be a better person.

http://www.lunchinfo.com/restpics/restid/upload/6202/pizza.jpg

Pizza.

http://www.mandery.com/gaming/thesims/screens/sims-1.jpg

Computer game called “SIMS”. I also call this my crack.

http://www.bigredtoybox.com/articles/mego2xl.jpg

2-XL. The best toy I ever had as a child (and I still have it).

And….. #10…..

The French Rugby Team.

Happy posting! Happy New Year!

VDN, I care! and so do many other readers of this forum. I congratulate you on reaching your 1,000th post.

VDN, you've added life to this forum. Your frankness from shooting a load over your shoulder, to your friendly way of greeting people with pictures has left a indelible "spot" on this forum. Yes, you even told us how to remove those spots... I recall when we first met in that dreary Apollo lounge at the G-threatre, we immediately struck up a conversation that still continues to this day. I wish more people could be as lucky as me in knowing you.

VDN, I've read every one of your 1,000 posts and look forward to the next. Keep up your remarkable work on this message center, we're all better off for having you around. Long live "Picture Wednesday" and long live Mr. VDN...

Cheer my good friend, I love you!

Hey VDN

I care too!! Congratulations on your 1000th post!!!

Thanks to you, I started posting on this Forum after lurking for quite awhile. It'll take some time for me to reach 1000 posts but I'll get there in this century, I hope...

I look forward to your Picture Wednesdays week after week. Your pictures have added a whole new dimension to this Forum.

Keep up the good work!

Hope to meet you in the Apollo Lounge one of these days.

enjoy

I think 1 of your posts is worth at least 10 of most other's posts. Keep them coming, as, if the next 1000 are as great as the first 1000 then I definitely have something worthy to look forward towards. :)

After all, anyone whose favorite ST series is Voyager, has to be AOK! I personally feel that Voyager is my second favorite behind STNG, but when I saw the very first episode of Voyager I knew it was a winner and much, much better than DS9. If I vote for Voyager as the best ST series, however, will you persuade Ensign Kim to spend the night with me? :)

Who are your all time 10 favorite ST characters? In order mine are:

1. The BORG

2. Captain Kirk

3. Captain Picard

4. Mr. Spock

5. Quark the farengi

6. L. Troi portrayed by Majel Barret

7. 7 of 9

8. Data

9. Dr. McCoy

10. Counselor Troi

Shoot, I forgot my all time favorite guest appearer Q!! Make that your top 11.

LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!!!!!! :D

Cooper,

Your kind words truly touched me. I sincerely thank you. I too love you as well.

Txpaytoplay,

Your 2 cents are quite valued. Thank you!

Rendie,

I am very happy you stepped out of lurk mode as you saved Picture Wednesday, and all of my pic posting efforts, with those wonderful links you sent my way! Please post more often.

VaHawk,

Live long and prosper. I have Star Trek Voyager on DVD now and the extras are GREAT! And speaking of Ensign Kim, check out my erotic story I wrote about him and Tom Paris! http://www.motnes.com/index.cfm?method=article&ArticleRecId=296735

As far as my favorite ST characters:

1) Janeyway

2) Picard

3) Sisko

4) Data

5) Lwaxana Troi

6) Spock

7) Worf

8) Kirk

9) Dax

10) Martok

Donnie,

The Catholic Church, like any other organized religion at some level, looks to control people and “keep the masses” in line and in order. The Catholic Church’s stance on many issues cause me great stress and discomfort because I was raised Catholic and came very close to starting the process to be a priest (I kid you not). Many of his Holiness’ statements and teachings are at direct odds with how I choose to live my life. However, I feel that any person we admire or want to be more like is also a person we can find fault in and disagree with. Yes, I am a person in conflict with my lifestyle compared to the religion I was raised in and the one I still choose to follow. As I traverse the days of my life I try to be a better, kinder person to my family and friends. I can be a real egotistical, self-absorbed bastard. The Pope, along with many other people, such as Buddha, Mother Theresa and Kofi Annan provide me with examples on how to be calmer and less self-centered. I don’t agree with everything they all say, but I feel I need improvement and I look to others for anything I can learn from them. The Pope doesn’t want you and me to get married. However, I can still learn from his other very redeeming qualities. Donnie, I respect your opinion.

Dearest Chuck,

Thanks for those kind words. I appreciate it. What I love about this message center is that everyone and all of their differing opinions can be heard and shared. I have posted some ASININE things and any and everyone who has ever responded never attacked me the person buy challenged my view, opinion, etc. Every once in a while there is the sassy upstart (see the politics forum - lol) and that always adds some spice. ;-)

Again, thanks! :*

VDN,

Your posts are always great !!!! Looks like we have a few things in common : growing up Catholic, seminary (I went with the Salesians) and feel the same way about the Pope.

Happy 1000 !!!!

BTW, I am unaware of the Pope making any statements about gay marriage...while I am sure he is against it, I must have missed his statement.

VDN, I don't really give a shit about how many posts you have racked up and nor do I really care about any celebration you anticipate.

WHAT MATTERS FOR ME is that every one of your postings, and especially the pictures, have been of indisputable quality and have contributed to the well-being of this forum.

I have yet to see you retract into personal agendas, and every time you post, its always with the greater good of the community in mind.

SO, go ahead, VDN...post 100 1000 or 10000 threads. Doesn't matter to me.....I will read each and every one because I know they will be informative and I also know that they will smack of unquestioned integrity.

Happy New Year,

GOOD LORD! How many of "us" are there here! Maybe Hoo should set up a prayer forum. Salesians ... you weren't fooling around! They are serious.

I went as far as filling out the application for a pre-seminary residence to attend while in college and I had a spiritual director. I didn't go as I ended up starting my college career in a community college and life took a different direction, received my BA and MS, did post-grad work, etc. I received the call but I let it go to voice mail.

PEACE and thanks again!

Greetings HotdadENYC,

I am quite humbled and touched by your post. When I post anything it is always with the sincere wish that it just contributes for the better and not the worse. This on-line community is a place I come to where I leave the non-e world of work, family issues, etc. behind. This is a place to relax, have fun and unwind. Thank you for taking notice that my posts are not to cause riotous situations, cause stress of any kind or insult. I am the fat nun from Sister Act. I want everyone to smile. I am a hopeless Libra.

>WHAT MATTERS FOR ME is that every one of your postings, and

>especially the pictures, have been of indisputable quality and

>have contributed to the well-being of this forum.

And I hope more people post pics and/or send me more pics to post. There are posters here who send me pics and they know I am grateful.

Again, I am humbled. I am most appreciative of your kind sentiments and I LOVE your writing style.

VDN,

I think that there are a good deal of "us." Still keeping the Faith.

And yup, the Salesians were no joke...seminary was mostly populated with Italian immigrant priests and brothers...only 3 of us in novitiate...only 1 of us made it :-)

Wow...very similiar...got my BA and years later my MSW and did the post grad thing too !!!! I answered the call, but God hung up :-)

Should have known that your kindness was grounded in something much deeper than secular existentialism :-)

OH MY! Tonight, after church, my fam and I went out to din din and I had a delightful Lemon Chicken with Asparagus. It was delightful. However, any food that makes me "quiver" is a food I like. Therefore, get your dish ready for me to lick it!

>Would love to share with you.

And what wine do you recommend I bring? Sounds like an evening that will lead to multiple buds being treated to delights.

I want to go and I need to grow up and make my first visit to a foreign land. I have a feeling I may not want to come back. However, I have a new car with a ventilated trunk (I am Italian) so I am sure I can fit a special someone in there nicely for the trip home.

I would make an awful husband. I snore and fart like a viking, I am a neat freak and I am a remote control commando. However, we can have a tasteless illicit affair if you like?

AND thank you for all the work you do with all of your Yahoo groups!

Hey VDN.....congrats on 1000 QUALITY posts! Your contributions bring many smiles to us as well as many erections, especially on Wednesdays!!! The first time I remember reading one of your posts was when you did a review of the Gaiety show a couple of years ago. I still laugh when I think about that! Thanks a million for the thousand posts!

Thank you. Though my desire for the "good party" is very secular I try to hold onto the Catholic/Christian values my mom tried to leave with me. There are good days and bad and my last confession made the priest gasp (I SWEAR I heard him gasp!).

WEll VDN, let me know soon, since my apt is up for sale and I would really like to make a nice dinner for you.

As far as wine, white, white and white.

As far as after dinner, a Portuguese Port would be nice.

Let me know what works for you. I'll make every effort to get the freshest asparagus !

RE: Post 1,000 - and we care!

VDN: from reading your celebration thread, it pays you yet another compliment, your words bring out the best in people. This is one of the nicest threads I've ever read on this forum. People open up to you and share there most personal informaiton. So far, you have a marriage proposal (perhaps a member of the board can celebrate it), a dinner invite, an offer to travel to Montreal, a wack-off Wed. partner, a Hooville meeting starting at a Church of your choice, plus many more. You are a great asset to the Hooville community. Keep up your wonderful work, I think you've found your "calling" right here on M4M.

Perhaps we ought to start a charity auction bidding to spend a night with the King of Wednesday Night porn, Mr. VDN. :-)

I love Worf's expression when Lwaxana Troi calls him Mr. Wolf.
