NYO,

Nicely done and thanks for letting all of us know this news in such a dignified, respectful way.

Though I never had long conversations with Ira he was always so nice and cheerful when I did speak with him, as well as his friend.

Though I won't be able to be in NYC this weekend I feel everyone should hoot for him as a loving memorial.

Again, thanks for sharing. I know you had to do this once with Andre, once with another Gaiety patron and I am sure you had to do it many times before I was a member here. We often forget that the people we meet at the Gaiety do have lives ... and limits.

Peace to all.

I am pretty sure that I know exactly which patron you are speaking about, and I too am sad that he has passed away. I have thought about him because he annoyed me so. Just as the dancer would come out with a great erection, this guy would lead the charge for a butt shot instead.

Now why did this annoy me? Here was a guy rooting for what he wanted, and, I learned, the dancers appreciated having a live reaction rather than the morbidly quiet one they often encountered. So I learned to get used to this guy and even appreciate his willingness to cheer for what he wanted. He got it too. No patron has ever had so many close up butt views as this guy, perhaps with the exception of NYO!

So maybe when he got to the pearly gates, everyone there mooned his entrance!

believe you have the wrong patron in mind, lucky. ira was never annoying, in my observation. i get to the gaiety infrequently, but usually enjoyed spending a couple saturday shows in iras' company when i did. he would never "lead the charge for a butt shot". he was never rude or annoying imo; was simply very appreciative when they did turn around and exhibited their backside.

much appreciation to nyo for sharing this news, sad as it is. may he rest in peace.

The hooters always make me glad to be at the Gaiety. Their uninhibited enjoyment of male beauty bring a smile and a life to the place. I wonder sometimes if other body parts specialists might compete in the appreciation sweepstakes. I am happy Ira was there, even though I am shy and probably didn't meet him. Thanks, Ira. Keep up the tradition guys.

I find it strange to hear that you are shy. Judging you from you "handle" I would have guessed the opposite. Funny how one's impression of someone can be wrong.

It's TRULY sad to hear about Ira's passing. I could not believe it when VDN told me this morning.

He was a GREAT friend and a GREAT human being.

We always had fun and enjoyable conversations and he certainly made Saturday's shows A LOT MORE FUN.

My condolences to those how knew him best, especially Harry.

May He Rest In Peace.

Once I've ovecome my initial lack of self-confidence and met someone, I'm fine. I'm appropriately extraverted in my professional life. But in a social environment, detached from my professional persona, just to walk up to a stranger and say hello takes a lot for me. And oddly, in the Gaiety, where after all one has seen these magnificent young men completely naked, I am shy with them as well. It may be one of the reasons I like the Gaiety and the strip clubs in Montreal. This shyness keeps me from meeting and hence from bedding many if not most of the people I'm attracted to. But at the Gaiety at least I can see them and enjoy this -- very structured -- interaction, and sometimes more.

Thanks for the personal interest.

I am very sad to report the following news.

Ira, one of the "Hooters" in the front row on Saturday night, passed away last Thursday. I do not know the details of what happened yet and will fill you in as I hear.

Ira was a very loving, considerate man. He was very outspoken at the show, always showing his approval of a great ass. He was very knowledgeable when it came to the twinks. I always enjoyed talking Gaiety boys with Ira, even though we didn't always agree. In my mind, Ira was the life of the show, always bringing out the best in the dancer's performances. While you may not have agreed with his "childish" hooting and hollering, it always livened up the place and made it much more fun. I will dearly miss my friend. Saturday nights at the Gaiety will never be the same for me.

Could someone tell me what happened to Andre?I adored him.I think that he became a favorite of mine because whenever he came out on stage, half of the audience would stand up and leave.Andre didn't give a shit,he would come to where I was sitting and smile down on me while I became mesmerized by his beautiful, black DONKEY DICK !

Unfortunately Andre passed away.

Andre was murdered about a year (maybe even two

years)ago at his home (I believe in the bay area).

If you do a search you might be able to find the treads

regarding it.

Andre was one of the sweetest dancers to grace the Gaiety

stage and his absence is sorely missed.

I was shocked to hear last week of Ira's death. I talked with him several times and more recently had the pleasure of talking with him and another longtime Gaiety patron over coffee at a nearby restaurant (to the Gaiety)on Saturday night. Ira was a really nice person and I very much enjoyed talking with him.
