I rarely attend the weekend shows. Believe it or not, even for a Gaiety veteran like me, I find 3 hours too much of a good thing. Also, for some reason, the grand finale, where all the dancers parade around the stage naked makes me a little uncomfortable. Can you say "slave market"? OK, maybe that's a little harsh, but it does seem a little demeaning to the dancers, I think. Obviously they have no say in the matter. Who knows, maybe they like it.

But I digress. Because it was fairly crowded at Saturday's 6:15pm show, I wound up sitting in the front at the side. As Cooper said "the cheap seats". Forced to twist your neck around to see the guys when they are dancing at the front of the stage, or you just continue to look forward at the empty stage. That silver curtain is just not that fascinating. I think I'm digressing even further, sorry.

So I found myself twisting my head around and looking at the first row and there is this very pretty young girl who seemed to be with a gay male friend. Oddly enough I found myself looking at her looking at the dancers to see her reaction. She was polite, smiled at the dancers and tipped all of them I think. A very well behaved young lady. But what was she thinking? I would have loved to have interviewed her for this forum.

I find myself being somewhat uncomfortable when there are women in the audience. Another reason I like the quieter weekday shows. Even if most of the dancers are straight and would probaly prefer an all female audience I still feel it's "our terf". How sexist can I get?

I've been told there are some female posters to this forum and at least one female Gaiety goer who has done some privates with a number of the dancers. I'm sure there are plenty of women who like looking at naked guys. I suppose Chippendales is still around. I can't help but think that it must take some courage for a women to go to the Gaiety however even if she goes with a male friend.

Foolishly I think a woman would be a little embarressed when a guy on stage bends over and spreads his butt to the audience. How can I put this? Do women really like seeing a guy's asshole? Rod Barry's performance didn't seem to shake this young lady.

I guess I really don't understand women very much even with all the female friends I have. Maybe I should invite one of them to join me sometime at the Gaiety. Mmmmmmm nope, it will never happen. I'm too set in my old gay ways for that.

I just realized this post has no point whatsoever. Sorry about that.

In my opinion, if a gay guy's best friend happens to be female then this is a great activity for both of them to partake in. He gets to see sexy men and she gets to see sexy men. I only have one straight friend who is female that I can go to the G with. I am friends with tons of lesbians and none of them will go with me. Hmmm .. wonder why. ;)

I do agree that it is our turf, especially because there is no ladies night. The history of that place dictates it is a gay-centered establishment. If the ladies that come are polite and don't come between us and our privates then a turf war won't have to be waged. Also there is no female bathroom for the female patrons to use! Only Denise and the snack servers use that special bathroom. That should be a sign to female G goers that they either have to hold it or have security man guard the men's room while she lets some friends off at the pool.

LOLOL. It had no point, foxy. But it was REALLY fun reading. Sort of like a James Joyce novel. Ever consider taking up writing as a second career?

Just make sure you have a copy editor who knows how to spell "terf".

Hehe...

Seriously, actually enjoyed reading your post tremendously. Vivid mental imagery of some well behaved wide eyed smiling young girl politely tipping Rod Barry as he stuck his ass right in her face.

The beauty of the internet message board... much of it has no point. But it is a damn fun place to be.

I wonder how the dancer feels when he sees women sitting in the gay men's chorus? Do these gals hoot, hoot?

Think about it, here's a so called straight guy, dancing to a gay audience, and looking to have gay sex. Reminds me of "Victor-Victoria". Do woman get off on this?

Hi

Someone thought he "outed" me on this message board,

but what he didn't know was that I wasn't trying to deceive

anyone.

Most of you already knew I am a female, I didn't

think it was a big deal. It all started out with my interest

in who would be in the Gaiety line-up week after week.

I would never have thought to post, except there were questions

that were asked here that I knew I could answer.

I've always tried to make positive contributions.

Only recently, I had a bit of an outburst and I do

apologize to you all for that.

I have GREAT respect for many of you contributors...such as...VDN, NYO,Cooper,Lucky, John Pela, and Samai. I am also a fan of VaHawk,Woodlawn, and my newest fav..Arik. To answer your question about what females think about the Gaiety...just want to let you all

know...for me...I like the same things as you like...to look at good-looking naked men. Of course, I have the luxury of knowing what the strip clubs are like in Montreal, so I don't get that excited at the Gaiety.

I find some dancers cute, some dancers sexy, and some just alot of fun to watch. Some of them are friends, so I go to support them.

They told me they like and need that. ( HINT)

I know the type of female that is unwanted at The Gaiety...

I don't care for that type, either. I am not in competition

with any of the patons, just a supporter. I am a professional

athlete and that is part of my nature. By the way, I ALWAYS tip

everyone, even the ones that don't do anything for me.

So, with respect...I thank you all, especially those names above

for your acceptance of me... and some of you...for your friendship that I VERY MUCH appreciate and cherish.

Thanks to GRoca for her reply to this rambling post of mine. I hope all understood my thoughts to women at the Gaiety have never been hostile just confused as to what appeal the place might have for them. Ok, I have to also admit that it makes me a little jealous that the dancers are going to pay more attention to the women. I suppose that's a kind of hostility and I'm not proud of feeling like that.

I wonder what would happen if Denise had a "women's night" at the Gaiety as they do in some of the Montreal clubs. Would it be a success?

On another note, has anyone ever brought a straight male friend to the Gaiety? That's a reaction I'd enjoy waching.

One last note, since the G shows male porn films in between the live shows it makes me wonder...

many straight men seem to be turned on by two women having sex with each other. Do straight women like to see two guys getting it on? GRoca or anybody?

Thanks for your warm reception, Foxy. I also appreciate

your honesty about your feelings of women at the Gaiety and it's

understandable. I, personally don't like most females.

I have less than a handful of female friends, and they are not

"girly girls". I have been told by many straight men ( some strippers) that I act like a man.I know that I fight like a man ;-).

To answer your questions... I, myself do not get turned on by the gay porn. I don't get turned on by straight porn, either. I'm not phased by either. However, a good friend of mine, who considers herself a "gay man in a woman's body",( That's her honest feeling)finds gay porn extremely erotic.

As for the question of ever bringing a straight guy to the

Gaiety...yes, we've done that a few times...all with different reactions, but none in a negative way, at all. A couple of them,

ex strippers, so that might not count...but, one married guy. He

was a good sport about it.

In Montreal, the straight guys don't mind to accompany us.

Once, a female friend of mine ( from Montreal) and I

met up with this guy from Toronto that she had just met. He asked

us to stop by this restaurant on St. Laurent. When we got there,

he was with another straight guy, who was a native Montrealer. After an hour, we invited them to join us at the Stock ( that was already on our agenda), and the Montrealer had no problem joining us, but the Toronto guy was totally against it. We even offerred to accompany them to a female strip club...this guy wasn't having it.

I find the people in Montreal alot more open with a "live and let live" attitude. I'm a dual citizen, so I plan to move there next year.

If anything she LAUGHS at straight porn. Both GRoca and I were HORRIFIED at a certain pair of roast beef curtains we saw Friday night on video!

One of the best nights I ever had at the Gaiety is when GRoca and Co. came with bubble guns and illuminated nipples. Now that was fun and a few of the dancers enjoyed fresh, cool bubbles going up thier ass! Thanks GRoca for good times in NYC.

PEACE

I haven't taken straight friends to the Gaiety, but after a couple of straight male friends dragged me to Crazy Horse and some other places in San Francisco, I demanded equal time and took them to the Nob Hill, which is rougher for the breeder boys to deal with. One was game to go, the other I had to put on a show of being offended("You say you're ok with me being gay, but clearly you're not") to get him to go.

Especially rough since the porn they were showing that night was a particularly cheesy 70s flick with VERY hairy guys and a lot of rimming...

They stayed for two performances and had to go after that....

Hi VDN!!

I really enjoyed watching that porn with you, too! Your expression,

" roast beef curtains" gets the award for bringing me the biggest laugh of the year! That one killed me!

That night with the bubbles and nipples strobe lights was a great night. I look forward to sharing more fun times with you! I cherish

our friendship!

Hey Foxy,

I'm sorry it took me a while to activate this new account so i can respond, I'm the "pretty young girl at the Gaiety", thank you for the compliment. I regularly read and occassionally post to the forum and want to thank you and all the regular posters for always putting a smile on my face, you really have a way with words!

I will try and answer some of the things you brought up here.

I go to the Gaiety for similar reasons everyone else goes there, because it gives me a LOT of pleasure to look at beautiful naked men, because i'm horny, because i enjoy watching men dance for other men, to see a friend dance, fantasize........

I understand why you might feel uncomfortable when there are women in the audience, look at Stock Bar on "Ladies Night" for example, it is full of women who are loud and abnoxious, and act like they have never seen a dick before. I would never want G. to turn into that. I never want to make anyone feel uncomfortable or be "in a way", or get extra attention because i'm female. And yes Chippendales-style clubs are still around, but have you seen the men who dance at these clubs in NY??? I think men have much better taste in men then women do.

I usually go to the G. by myself, but i did bring a few straight male friends with me a couple of times and their response was: "I though i had a decent size dick, why did you bring me here? now i will have a complex." One of them did mention that he always thought giving a BJ looked like a lot of fun but he just never met the right guy to do it with.

>Foolishly I think a woman would be a little embarressed when a

>guy on stage bends over and spreads his butt to the audience.

I take photographs for gay magazines so seeing a guys asshole is something that i'm used to. In my personal life, i do enjoy playing with a men's asshole. I always say our bodies are not that different, if it feels good to me when a guy plays with my ass, why shouldn't he feel good if i play with his(and i love to please!). Of course most men don't let me, but it's their loss.

>I guess I really don't understand women very much even with

>all the female friends I have.

I don't think most women feel the same way i do, or they are just afraid to admit it. maybe one day we'll meet at the G.:-)

RE: what was she thinking?

Hi krutoy.

Thanks for posting a response to my questions. It was a happy surprise. I'm starting to learn a few things. Interesting that both you and GRoca feel the same way about women behaving badly at a male strip show. Probably the way straight men behave at a girlie show although I have a hard time remembering when I've been to one.

Years ago a few few female friends of mine went to a Chippendale's show and didn't seem to care for it too much. I remember saying something like "well, the dancers are probably all gay anyhow" (pure conjecture on my part and probably not very accurate).

One of the mysteries of the Gaiety (and the Montreal clubs) for me is the large majority of the dancers are straight. Does that mean that dancing for gay men is more lucrative? Is it all about the money? Also, it's been said that if a guy dances at the Gaiety...how straight can he be?

Human sexuality is a complex thing. I don't think we'll get any hard and fast answers (no pun intended) so perhaps we should all just relax and enjoy the show. I know I have for years and hope it will continue as long as I can get up the stairs.

Anyway, I welcome your input to this forum and I would enjoy meeting you at the G some time and comparing notes. That goes for GRoca as well.

In today's political climate as more gay people expect (rightfully) acceptance into the "straight" world, perhaps gay people have to be more willing to open some doors of it's own. Just remember, if we both decide to go after the same dancer...the gloves are off!

Well Foxy, it looks like you are in my mirror universe. Through your posting it seems you have made a fine, new, female acquittance (AND she takes pictures of naked men!!!! Can we ALL tag along with you two on the next photo shoot!?! ).

It was through my posting/review when I filled in for NYO that I met GRoca. We are now good friends and, for that, I am thankful. And who says there are no good women to be found in male burlesque parlors! ;-)

Foxy: Good thread topic- very interesting.

VDN:

I met GRoca for the first time last Valentine's Weekend Sat night

at the Gaiety. Until that weekend I did not know GRoca was a female but later looked it up and her name ID file on this site clearly stated female so she wasn't hiding anything. I enjoyed meeting her and her friend that same night that she gave Ben Versace his "Mr. Gaiety 2003" crown, scepter and sash. Also enjoyable chats subsequent to that via email with GRoca (who has great taste in Gaiety dancers!)

That same Valentine's weekend Friday night I caused a stir at Gaiety by bringing as my guest a young cute lady wearing a reg beret, who is a friend of Ben Versace. Bozo even posted incorrectly several times that she was Ben Versace's wife. Also that was same weekend that Devon posted his two-part diary about his private with Mr. Versace.

VDN, I also remember the weekend in early September 2002 at Gaiety that you and several female friends (GRoca, too?) blew bubbles at the dancers and had signs and flashing lights on your head, I believe.

At Madrigals Club and Cocktail in Chicago quite a few young females attend to see the hot mostly straight male nude dancers. Also they frequently score with one of the dancers who are looking for a late night treat for themselves after they are done dancing for the evening. Some of the dancers are more discreet or professional about it and don't make an obvious fuss over the female patrons, other dancers do react to them (and their diminished tips are a result).

VDN: Like you, I would like to see the photos of those nude male dancers!

GOOD LORD - where was I when all of this trauma drama was going down!?! I tend to be a recluse near Valentine's Day as all of my love interests forsake me.

GRoca was the architect for that one! It pissed some people off but I laughed the whole time. However, I chose not to illuminate my nipples as it wouldn't have had the same effect that it had with Groca's nipples.

VDN,

You will just have to get out to the Gaiety during Valentines weekend. You never know what you'll find.

GRoca,

Sometime we will have to hook again at the Gaiety like we did last Valentine's weekend Saturday night. I still hope it will a weekend when you-know-who returns there.
