I have no problems with anyone makeing a living with

danceing or Escorting, I am however a little Concerned

about SARS With the recent outbreak in Asia and Toronto.

I cannot understand how an establishment such as the

Gaiety can allow a dancer from Toronto to be on the

weekly lineup Unless of course the dancer has NOT been

in the Toronto area for the past TEN days or More.If a dancer from Toronto had SARS and a client got the Disease The NYC health Dept

would have a good enough excuse to close the Gaiety down for good.

Now I am in NO WAY SAYING that any dancer that I know of has SARS

but it is something to serously think about. As far as I know there

is NO Outbreak in Montreal Canaada, in Montreal all those that

were suspected of getting SARS where quarantined and released after

10 days with no health problems.I am just shairing my views but

wondering how the rest of you feel about this subject?

Spellcheck for starters. Then what is with the capitalizing of certain letters?

Personally, I wouldn't go with an escort from Toronto right now. But I'll bet they already know this and will tell you they are from Edmonton!

SARS is yet another example of Media overhype. Remember Mad Cow Disease ?, in relality more people died in Britain in 2000 from accidents with Underwear Elastic than died from Mad Cow Disease. In North America I understand only 3 non Asians have died from SARS since early March. In the same period around 300 Americans will have died because of the use of Hand Held Mobile Phones in Cars, around 80 from RailRoad crossing accidents, approx 100 from gun accidents, and over 1000 from unprotected Sex.

Statisticaly you are more likely to be killed by a New York City Emergency Services Vehicle or Speeding Police Car, than with SARS from a Canadian Dancer at The Gaiety.

Be careful crossing Times Square.

FYI, there are no dancers in this week's lineup who are from Toronto. Since I'm not aware of any dancing in the near future, why are you starting this "PANIC"? Did you check out where all the boys of Stella's are from?

I'm with Dallas Tony on this one. The media has fueled an unnecessary scare. They need a good story now that the War is over.

More folks are killed everyday from auto accidents related to alchohol and from the effects of second-hand smoke than from SARS.

I remember the inital AIDS scares of about 20 years ago, and when the toll booth colectors started wearing rubber gloves, and there was all sorts of unjustified discrimination against gays and Haitians and and others.

We love to over-react to the latest fad sickness, and yet we engage in all kinds of other more risky behavior every day (like driving on the highway, crossing the street, breathing second-hand smoke, casual sex with excorts from who knows where, etc, etc, etc,)

Turn off your TV, and live yor life. Now we are using this SARS scare to discriminate against folks from Ontario! Some one needs to get a grip.

It's good to see so many voices of sanity here. There are several million people living in the Greater Toronto Area and a couple of hundred have come down with the disease and a handful have died. Put it all in perspective. Unless your dancer/escort has been in the hospital or is a hospital worker who has been in relatively close contact with SARS patients there isn't too much to worry about.

Might actually be a good time to visit up there. The tourism industry is really hurting and you can probably get amazing deals.

I've just come back from Canada--not Toronto, but several large cities, not very far away---London, Hamilton, Missisaugua-- WHO officials BLEW--and I mean that NOT in the sexual sense--their warning. There have been no new cases of SARS in Toronto in over three weeks. The danger, even in Toronto is about the same as getting some communicable disease by walking the streets of New York or London.

If there are dancers from Toronto working at the Gaiety, they are as safe, at least from SARS, as those from any other area,IMHO.

(Capital letters added for emphasis. If they offend, I do not apologise---WHO and SARS are usually in capital letters. I'm not sure about IMHO, but if you prefer imho, there it is. BLEW is there because I thought the innuendo appropriate.)

Your information just is not entirely accurate. There have been new cases and recent new cases.

In fact, just today, in Niagara County USA, a 33 year old male is a "highly probably" SARS case from traveling to Toronto on business. This case gives new and added concern to whether the virus is contained to Health Care Facilities in Toronto or out in the community.

Let's hope that three weeks can go by with no new cases!

I'm not sure if my information is totally accurate or not--just quoting various sources that I read, heard, and researched. You may be right, but when the US media refers to new cases, sometimes they are talking about new deaths from SARS. I suspect those who recently died contracted the virus long ago. Two more deaths in Toronto were reported on CNN tonight, but these deaths were not "new" SARS cases.

As for the "suspected" case in Niagara Country---have not heard about it, and I went through that area today, read the local newspapers, listened to the radio and watched the news tonight. Could you tell me where you heard about it? What hospital is the person in?

Thanks for sharing your views. If I had not read your post I would never have discovered how totally stupid you are.

I think you should stay away from the Gaiety for a long time. Forever would be good! That way the dancers from Toronto would not have to cope with yet another nervous nelly.

Last night---Friday @ 11:00 PM---CNN had a report on SARS in Toronto: They reported that there had been no new cases reported in Toronto "outside the medical community." They did not elaborate, but I believe this means that those in hospitals who are treating the patients who have SARS are still in danger. I read a report that speculated that one person brought a particularly virulent strain of the virus and he/she was the source for all the cases within the medical community--do not know if this is totally accurate or not. It would explain why so many of the patients in Toronto have died. Have any patients in the U.S.A. died from SARS?

News reports continue to keep track of how many people have died from SARS, and this alarms many. Unfortunately what is NOT often heard is that these deaths are among people who were exposed to the virus while treating the first cases; are related to those who treated to first cases; or who were in the same hospital. From my understanding there have been NO new cases in Toronto in three weeks, and yet the City is treated the same in most news stories as Beijing.

Stay Tuned!!

P.S. If a hunky hung dancer from Toronto showed up at my flat, I'd invite him in in a heartbeat.
