RE: Is it any of your frigging business?

Is it possible to get a real job without being raked over the coals?

Absolutely!

I'm not sure I agree with your assessment that the IRS will inquire about prior years returns should an escort who has NEVER filed a return suddenly submit one. I personally did not file a tax return on my own until I was 21. My parents provided my total support and income up to my middle of my college years. Once I filed my first tax return, the IRS did not want to know why I was 'out of the system' for the first 21 years - nor did they want to know where prior returns were. And before the statement is made that they could use my SSA# to see that I was a dependent on my parents return(hence they knew I was being supported), this occurred before SSA# were required for dependent.

Telling Escorts that have never filed a return that filing one will 'trigger' something from the IRS is just plain misleading..

Even if the Escort volunteers to 're-enter' the system, file back tax returns to become current, large tax bills can be be paid in installments. Better yet, large tax bills can be a prime candidate for an 'Offer in Compromise' request to the IRS.

Moderators: Why Was My Post Deleted?

I posted a response to post 34 from JeffOH yesterday. His post was addressed to me and responded to a post I put in the thread earlier about filing Form 1099. My post referenced his post and quoted from it. My post should have been number 36. Now his post and mine are gone. I would like the moderators to explain what rule my post violated that made them delete the post.

RE: Moderators: Why Was My Post Deleted?

Your message was not, to my knowledge, intentionally deleted.

Jeff's message was intentionally deleted, at his request. It'll be a cold day in hell before he gets another request granted.

It is possible that two of us clicked "delete" at or about the same time and the board software became confused and took out the message at "position n" in the thread. This of course would never occur to you. You'd rather sling blame first. TAKE IT ELSEWHERE or we will.

Wow, welcome to the message center, in yer face! I have a few thoughts prompted by what you've said, but first:

>In fact, most of the little

>tidbits about tax law that Ive seen posted so far are just

>plain wrong.

For the not so discerning among us, could you point out which tidbits were wrong? :7

One of the valuable things about this site, to my mind, is that it tends to popularize a sense of business ethics in both escorts and clients. Sure, there's room for a lot of interpretation on matters great and small (witness the baseball cap thread), but hopefully there's a general pressure upward in terms of expectations about things like timeliness, honest representations, appropriate hygiene and what could loosely be called fair play on both sides. Maybe a client is less likely to say "Oh, well, what do you expect from a whore" than he was ten years ago because he's actually learned to expect MORE from a whore. Escorts like Aaron Lawrence have done a lot to encourage that higher sense of expectations. And I know that my fuzzy stereotype of what "a client" is like was pretty quickly blown away by experience, so much so that in my own mind there is now some kind of "standard" of conduct I expect from my clients, and I am almost never disappointed.

What I'm saying is that escorting's in a transitional era -- to some extent it is still part of that Wild West world of drugs, sketchiness and tax evasion, but there actually is some kind of bar now which I would expect to solidify and raise over time. I think there are more escorts out there right now who are interested in doing business ethically and in being "good citizens" including in areas like paying taxes, volunteering time and that kind of thing, in other words in finding ways to mitigate that feeling of being "outside the system" that in yer face talks about. Repeating well-worn cliches like "well, don't hold your breath for escorts to pay their taxes" or "we all know they're not exactly known for their honesty" doesn't really do a lot to encourage a higher standard of behavior and may, as in yer face suggests, even be more about the client working out his own issues around being associated with this industry.

Actually the tone of many of the comments was much more constructive than that -- some posters have made a point of talking about ways escorts can report their income legally -- so that's why I'd like to hear from in yer face as to which of those points were wrong. Of course your point that a message center isn't where one should be going for tax advice is well taken.

LOL deej, I think the guy was merely asking what happened to his post. This kind of ominous threat of yours is just like Daddy's "Tone it down" posts, which were just as offensive and Big-Brotherly.

Maybe I need to come to Chicago & give you some deep throat so you'll tone it down... }>
