In the last few weeks, I have seen a marked slowness when navigating this site.

Is there a reason, other than its obvious popularity?

Are there plans to increase capacity/speed? (Yes, I know these cost $$$. ;-) )

CT Dick I thought it was just me so I didn't say anything. I have DSL and have noticed the same thing. Not just a little slower it is very different than it was only 3 - 4 weeks ago.

It's been noticeably slower on my DSL circuit as well. Oddly, today, on a slow dial-up connection from a hotel, it seems quite quick. The TCP/IP gods must be smiling on me today.

I've noticed no difference in speed. I'm on cable, and it's just as zippy as it usually is.

While not as fast as yours, I tested at 1.6 megabits, still in the "fantastic" range, faster than T1! Gotta love it! :7

But in relation to this thread, I've seen no difference at all in the speed of this site.

I know what you guys think about aol, but I've had the odd thing going on recently that when I go from scratch to the entrance page, I always time out and can't get through, but when I use "My Favorites" to go directly to the front page with today's escort pic etc on it I get through every time fairly quickly.

I've just checked the stats, and on the average we're only using 60% of the pipes to the backbone. So it's more likely problems at the West Coast NAP.

The only other thing that you may be hitting, is that I'm running backups from about 4am-7am (Pacific Time Zone) and that does slow the server down significantly.

If you'll be more specific about the times, and where your seeing the problem it'll be helpful. BTW: Yes, we know that logging in is taking longer, I need to trim the user list back, and being relunctant, as it always creates a mail storm for hoo.

It is 11:35AM PDT and I am simply moving from conference to conference and opening threads and once in a while opening a post within the thread. It is taking up to 22 seconds for a page to load.

Also when I clicked on newest reviews it took just over 1:15 to load that page.

I am in Southern California using DSL connection. I went to test my connection speed and it rates very high.

The problems started a few weeks ago on this site for me.

Also, in my case I have no delay in logging on.

RE: What happened???

Guys, I am not a computer person and I really cannot accurately respond to your issue. I was on the phone with Daddy and he said everything looked fine.

My server is on top of the Sprint backbone near Seattle and my uneducated guess is that there may have been some problems with Sprint or the relaying partners.

Personally, I never experienced any slowdown other than the Login seems slower. Last week I was in a New York hotel and only had dialup access;even that came through fine.

However, the software has been deleting inactive users because we thought the login process would be speeded up, but after hearing back from lurkers who are pissed because their accounts are no longer valid, I question doing that.

I am always open for suggestion and I appreciate your feedback.

In one of the last flare-ups, I think (I do not know for sure)

I think Daddy made a decision to distance his involvement in the day-to-day communication here.

RE: What happened???

Now it's Friday, 8ish and we're slow again. It just took me 1.5 minutes to open the Deli conference. it took 30-45+ seconds to open a thread. This is much slower than last night or the recent past.
