You know,I read about how hit and miss Spotlight is. I read about how overpriced Numbers can be. I also read about these monthly dinners at Numbers, and I was thinking what if we had a Hooboy night at Spotlight once in a while? Some of us don't really want to make a whole dinner and evening at Numbers out if it, not all the time anyway. We could just set a night at Spotlight in advance on this board and see if we could have a night there where it wouldn't be so 'hit and miss'. After all, you escorts read these posts too, yes?

 

I was also wondering if we could start a night like this somewhere else. The parking IS a pain in the ass at Spotlight, and it would be nice to find a place somewhere in between the atmosphere of Numbers and Spotlight, don't you think? I know we talk about the good old days. We talk about Hunters and the Golden Door. Even the glory days of the old Numbers location on Sunset. When it was a wonderful secret. What if we descended upon a bar of our choice some night? }(

Somewhere small and friendly. Maybe not as out in the open and in the middle of everything like Trunks or the weho bars though. Somewhere the more discreet escorts and clients might come too.

 

Any ideas? Goldcoast? Faultline? Not that I'm a bear or anything. Just thinking of more discreet places. Off the beaten path.

Numbers alternates...

 

There are several problems with doing a meeting-type thing at Spotlight. It's loud, doesn't really have much in the way of seating (other then at the bar), a gathering would displace other patrons who may have a problem with that, parking, and somewhat deserved reputation. I think its a fun place, but not all do, and it's hard enough to get people not to turn there nose up at 'being seen in' Numbers, so I don't think there would be that many M4M escorts raring to go there.

 

The problem with moving to a non-hustler bar/restaurant is that conversations can turn raunchy, and I don't think it's realistic to expect we can create a new hustler spot by showing up once or twice a month in force, even assuming we were a force.

 

Numbers is expensive, and I'm not that excited by the food (though it's better then French Market...), but it's been very friendly towards our group.

 

Please join us at a get-together and see what it's like, keep in mind it's only as expensive and time-consuming as you let it be. Some have shown up around 7 and left around 8:30, others have grabed a bite elsewhere then shown up after 9/9:30, works pretty well. Even if you stayed the whole time you're not going to be forced to order an entree or anything.

 

The idea of occasionally announcing when we think we'll be at Spotlight, and thus maybe meeting up with a couple M4Mers is a good one, plus the occasional weekend brunch/lunch followed by some time at Spotlight has been fun and I'd like to continue it.

 

Since we have so little left, I vote we support both places as best we can. Other opinions are welcome of course, we can talk about it at the next meeting if desired.

I sent a post yesterday but it never showed up. I was just saying that I think the dinner at Numbers sounds like fun and I actually like the food there. I wasn't really talking about another stuctured gathering for us to sit down as a group though. I just thought we might suggest a night where a lot of us might meet a lot more escorts. Especially guys like me that just want to show up for a beer after 10 pm or so.

 

I really don't think any gay bar I've been to in town minds any 'raunchy conversation'. Not sure why that's a concern. Just thought it might me interesting to try and create a new spot.
