Guys I've read previous threads about hotels in Bangkok that allowed for their guests to have overnight and day guests. In May of 2005, I'm extending my stay in Thailand: I will spend five or more additional days in Bangkok and will be needing a hotel where guests are easy to be accommodated; I really would prefer to stay in a four or five star (rated) hotel. What are your RECOMMENDATIONS?????????

Yes, fellows, I know that a hotel is only a place to sleep!

I want some creature comforts!!!! I like ambiance where I will be able to play some romantic, sensual music and burn small votives......... Ouch!!!!!!! :9 :-) :9

You will have no problen at any of the 5 star Hotels offered on Priceline and you will get a great rate also.

My favorite is the Sheraton Grande on Sumkhuvit because of its staff, fabulous pool area and being next door to Skytrain.

But the JW Marriott als on on Sumkhuvit is also wonderful

The Intercontinental in Siam Square is also vey nice with fabulous staff and nice rooms. The pool however leaves a lot to be desired.

The Shangri La on the River is a liitle frayed around the edges but a wonderul location and fabulous pool area.

I have had no problems at any of these Hotels in bringing guests back. Even 2 at a time has generated no looks.

I am staying at the JW Marriott during my stay and I couldn't be happier with the experience, Awesome hotel. Great staff, excellent exercise room, nice pool and sun deck, great rooms, big glass shower and no problems when returning with a late visitor. I would recommend it highly.

The Siam Square Intercontinental was torn down some time ago and a new development is going up in its place.

I never had a problem at the Swissotel Nai Lert (or its former incarnation as the Bangkok Hilton International), although they may have changed policies since their recent remodel.

I also have had no problem at the Hotel Plaza Athenee (very close to the Ploenchit sky train stop). The Conrad (just down the street from the Athenee) had some security problems earlier this year and may be more vigilant.

The above poster is referring to the new Intercontinental, next door to Gaysorn Plaza. It was formally the Royal Meridien. The old President, next door to that, will open soon as a Holiday Inn.

I suggest the Intercontinental. They have great service, great atmosphere and no problem with boys in rooms. I have stayed there over 80 Nights during 2004 and never once had a bad experience. It has great High Speed Internet.

They are also convenient to get to the boy bars. It is a 5 min taxi ride to the heart of the gogo haven.

Message me if you have any questions about anything with the hotel.

:-) :-) :-) Thanks, gentlemen... Your suggestions and recommendations will be a tremendous help in deciding where I shall spend my additional time while in Bangkok in May, 2005.

The more I read, the more excited I become. Although I've been to Thailand on two other occasions, this trip will be far different in many, many respects! My anticipation has begun to rise (even at this beginning of a new year)!

I ate at the Siam Heritage Hotel a couple of times. The owner a PhD who studied in Arizona, gave me a tour of the various rooms and explained all the art on exhibit. Some are her families heirlooms like the property, it is built on. Everything is of the highest quality. Really tasteful and of the finest materials from the teak doors, beds, and very modern bathrooms. Each room connected for the Internet and an executive desk, two flat screen TVs and sound systems. Kitchenettes and dining areas.

I guess someone could ask if there is a problem with joiners, since it is right in the center of activity on Suriwonge, which looks to be in the process of upgrad with new sidewalks, stores, etc.

Is is only a few steps from the Tarntawan, which is a 100 steps from the Tawan! :+
