For approximately three weeks, I spent time in beautiful and sophisticated Buenos Aires, dubbed the "Paris of the South." And while there this year, I rented an apartment in Recoleta, an upscale barrio, through http://www.bairesapartments.com. Martin, the manager, was amiable on the telephone as well as through his emails that he sent to me; his site is wonderful. One selects the barrio and price range; there are beautiful photos posted for each listing.

I had a "cute" guide of 26, Marcelo, a very professional young lad. I'd communicated with him for almost three months, giving him my dates and tentative itinerary; he and I made arrangements to have dinner one eve in a restaurant in Recoleta: the place, Marcelo's choosing, had few diners and was great for conversation. The bill was rather inexpensive, too. I charged the meal, and when I arrived back in the States on the 15th of November, I noticed that it had come to a mere $34.00 (US). We did not have alcoholic drinks with our meal because we had had them prior to coming to this particular venue.

Guys, when you visit Buenos Aires, do your research via the web as well as through the use of good guide books and "TimeOut Magazine: Buenos Aires." My own reading enhanced my time with Marcelo.

He is a goodlooking young man who has advertised on http://www.craigslist.org, Buenos Aires, "Men4Men section of this site. He's professional (He has a degree in tourism.) and gives his utmost to his clients. He'll try to accommodate your wishes (except for escorting, something that I knew beforehand).

Now if you want him to contact some of the independent escorts from http://www.soytuyo.com for you, he will do that. He contacted two guys for me, Alvaro and Edy, Jr.

Tell him your desires, and he will try to relay that to the guy/s who you care to see. Alvaro was a pleaser but a tad bit non interactive. He loves to deep throat his partner, and since he's wide and long, apparently he doesn't mind feeling teeth. I held back slightly because I did not want to nick him. He kisses but that is not one of the events that he enjoys.

I didn't see Edy, Jr. although I'd had the hots for him for months prior to the visit. His rate was $100 US. Right now (11/29/07), I am sorry that I did not see him. His rate was indeed reasonable as compared (which one can't based on the economy of the two countries)

to what escorts charge in the States.

On my own I contacted my guide from last year Jorge (Chorch) and his partner Sebastian (Esteban Leon at http://www.soytuyo.com). We had a 3way which was "the bomb!" These men definitely know how to please their middle man. FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC! HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

Contact Esteban through http://www.soytuyo.com if you desire to see one or both. Ask about their rate; mine was indeed reasonable, and I think this was due to my friend and I hiring of Jorge as a guide for a week last year. If you want to meet them-- email me privately and I will give you their contact information. If you do you will NOT be disappointed.

One can read Chorch's reviews under Houston or Dallas in the "Older Reviews" section at this site.

Men, I had an extremely great time living in the one bedroom apartment and feeling a part of the culture. My place was well-appointed and indeed pleasant and quiet. Since I enjoyed myself so much, I plan to return next year if my one way return portion of my initial ticket is still valid.

Because I am tired and am still adjusting to my home environment (I've been traveling for almost nine weeks now; I returned from my second trip just yesterday), I cannot write more.

But within a few weeks if you have some queries, post here. If you want to ask about Alvaro and/or Chorch and Esteban or Gael-- email me.

Go to BA and enjoy! Our dollar goes a long way there as opposed to Rio and Sao Paulo or other parts of Brasil. I spent a week in Rio during this trip. ...will write about a few of my experiences in another thread and at another time!

Although I plan to write a separate thread about him-- I can give you his specific information here: Marcelo Alejandro Mansilla (Licenciado en Turismo), http://www.ciceroneba.com.ar, info@ciceroneba.com.ar, Cel 15-5654-9032.

I hope that you will seek out his services and his expertise; he is the BEST guide that I have had during the six years that I have been hiring guides in Argentina and Brasil. He is truly exceptional and is in demand as an INDEPENDENT guide. (He's "cute" and personable and relates to each of his clients based on the chemistry that transpires between or among them; he is also very flexible as time goes and is reasonably priced. His rates are listed at his website.)

I have a great deal of respect for Axiom and value his reviews and travel journals. I look forward to hearing more from him after he rests up.

That said, I want to give a different view of Marcelo, one which is not negative but just indicates that you have to be very clear with him what you want to hire him to do.

This summer (winter there!) I wrote and arranged for a tour of gay night life, or so I thought. But, as his plan developed, we were going to meet at 8:30 pm. Now I know nightlife in Buenos Aires starts well after midnight, but Marcelo wanted to meet for drinks, and then go to a dinner were there was a comedy show (in Spanish).

I explained to him that I wouldn't understand the show, but he insisted that many of his customers did and that we could leave if I didn't like it. Still nothing about a tour of gay night life. I finally realized that Marcelo had chosen an evening that interested him and was having me pay not only to take him to dinner, but for the time involved as well.

Marcelo may make a great dinner companion, as Axiom indicates, but if you want a tour of the gay nightlife, maybe he is not the best choice. I canceled my plans with him and he responded respectfully that he did intend to go to "a bar or two" after dinner.

Lucky, in all due respect, I´m sure you know how to say, ``NO´´. I have, and, since I am still in Buenos Aires (starting my second month) am still using the services of Marcelo. If he suggest a venue that does not interest me, I simply tell him ``NO´´, and that´s the end of that discussion. I know he can be persistent.

Marcelo is on another ``job´´ now but he still phones me to make sure I'm ok. He always ends the call, ``call me if you need anything´´. We will be together on Sunday when we go to a futbol match.

Marcelo puts his client first. He is always on time, prepared for our adventure, and always very professional. He is very good looking and dresses well.

I second everything Axiom has written about Marcelo. I will remain in Buenos Aires until December 30 and plan on taking advantage of Marcello`s expertise quite often.

Axiom:

Are there still independent houses of boys still in BsAs?? They were advertised in the local free gay paper 2 years ago when I was there, another guide directed me to one that was in an apartment - 6 boys presented themselves.

Any reservations using soytuyo?? I just cannot imagine all that talent down there, it makes one drool...

I don´t want to steal Ax´s ``thunder´´, but here´s a little additional information regarding Buenos Aires. I certainly agree with AX regarding Baires Apartments, Marcello, and, I´s sure, anything else he writes - we are good friends. Baires Apartments have extensive listings for apartments all over BA. However, imho, the Recolta ares is the best area - kinda the Beverly Hills of BA with designer shops on nearly every corner. I just renewed the agreement on my apartment for another month. Also, take advtantage of the cell phone rental arrangement through Baires Apartments. Rental Phones of BA will provide a cell phone free if you are a Baires client. I was using a phone card and found the cards are very expensive - about 2.50 pesos per minute.Incoming calls are 1 pesos, The cell phone charge is 1.25 per minute for local calls (within BA), 2.75 ¡ 2.99 pesos per minute for international. To call a cell phone in BA, you must have a cell phone or a phone card if you call from a land line. I just paid my bill this morning - a total of 227.75, which included the 27 percent tax, insurance, etc. I made 73 local calls - mostly to taxi boys. Remember, there is no charge for the cell phone.

Baires Apartments also has a tour service through BairesFun. I have purchased futbol tickets for many matches through them. Tickets to many events are also available through them.

When you get to BA and settled in your apartment, go to a newspaper kiosk, which are on practically every corner and purchase IMPERIO. This is a glossy publication that has two pàrts. One part is RATONES and is FULL of escorts - photos, phone numbers, stats. This is a monthly publication that costs 6 pesos (2 USD). Let your fingers do the walking and let the fun begin. If not satisfied with Ratones, go to an internet cafe and access http://www.soytuyo.com You´ll probably have to ask the the ``antiporn block´´ be removed. Surely you`ll find something there. Then, if you want to know what`s happening, go to the kiosk and by the Buenos Aires Hearld for 2 pesos. Even better call our new, best tour guide anywhere, Marcello. About telephone - some of the boys will list a number 4xxx xxxx. This is a land line and is usually a house of boys. I have made several calls to these numbers for a specific boy. I was told the he was not available, BUT ``we have eight more boys so why don´t you come to our house and make a selection´´. I have never done this. If you see both land line and cell numbers listed in an ad for the same boy, always call the cell number.

And bargins - the exchange rate varier between 3.12 - 3.16 to the US$. Where but BA can one get a large ribeye, with trimmings for US10?

The boys are even a bargin - 150 - 250 pesos for 1 - 1.5 hours.

On the other hand, I find it overwhelming. How do you decide where to start with all those beautiful ads? I wish there were a review site like this one for BA escorts.

What is the going rate for Soytuyo escorts?

December 1, 2007--- I have yet to experience going to "houses" that have boys. I was told that they did not exist; this occurred in 2005 when I was there, but apparently they do and telephone numbers are listed in the current issues of RATONES which is part of IMPERIO magazine.

Right now in my recyled box is a copy of the Septiembre de 2005 issue of the aforementioned magazine; in that issue there are NO numbers indicating what you asked.

At http://www.gaytravelbrazil.com, there is some mention of what you asked.

Go there and read; you might want to contact the individual who wrote about the "houses with boys."

The rates of the guys vary. If you are a local porteno, you will see the guy for less than what a tourist would fork out. One cute escort who I saw last year and had planned to see this year-- quoted me (in his last email) that his rate would be $70.00 (US) $210 pesos; another charged me $85.00 US; that's like $250 pesos.

I hot a really hot 3way with Esteban Leon and his working partner or romantic partner; the rate was $300 pesos, $100 US.

I'd wanted to hire Ivo, Edy Jr., and a few others, but their going rate was $100 US. I forwent these experiences and regret it as of this typing.

If I manage to return to Buenos Aires in 2008, I plan to have a separate budget for sex and another one for shopping and doing things of a cultural nature. Both "heads" need to be enhanced at all times!!

Men, I would suggest that you go to Buenos Aires for a week or longer; then hop over to Rio for a week. I spent almost three weeks in BA, and I can say right now that this was my best trip there, living in an apartment and living somewhat as a local porteno! :9

Thanks glutes for your kind words. Argentina has become my favorite subject so I love to share what little info I have. I intend to experience everything Buenos Aires has to offer during my remaing month. God, I am already dreading the last of this month when I have to leave this beautiful, beautiful city!! Today, we (the guide Marcelo and I) will attend the last futbol game of the season for Boca Juniors. It is another 80 degree, cloudless day - a good day for a futbol match. God, I love this city!!!!

Lucky, I am sure you made the right decision. Sounds like there were negative feelings and that would not make a good relationship (nothing sexual). What a problem it would create if we ALL wanted the same guide, the same boy, etc.

On Sunday April 18, 2010, Marcelo and I had brunch at a wonderful (smallish and intimate) restaurant in Palermo. I chose this place while we walked based on the sight of the empanadas which graced the plate of another patron. While we dined in this quiet and relaxing atmosphere-- I asked Marcelo about his guiding goals and expectations. I alluded to the "negative" comments which had been made about him at two sites. He calmly shared with me that he DOES NOT take guys to sexual venues, such as, saunas or to Tom's (a venue I've been to on my own at my friend's request) or the like.

He mentioned that he would contact a few escorts for one if that were his client's choice, but otherwise one would have to seek out another guiding agent such as the now defunct http://www.2portenios.com.

Yes, and unfortunately, Gustavo and his partner no longer have their business. A few month's back when I noted Gustavo's FB Page, he had a message informing all of us of this.

But if guys desire a guide to take them to the Houses of Boys or to other gay venues, contact Drey at http://www.gayargentina.com. He has such a guide; unfortunately I was unable to make contact with this gorgeous man to accompany me as well as showing me the dynamics of gay Argentina while I was in Buenos Aires recently.

In response to this question-- I will write a separate thread at this site as well as at http://www.gaytravelargentina.com. I can give you the information that was contained in the ads in the most recent supplement in IMPERIO magazine.
