I will be there. I actually received my hotel confirmations from Carlo this morning. It was great timing, because I am leaving tomorrow for my second trip to Rio. When I was there in September, there didn't appear to be any m4mer's there. So I hope I have a chance to meet some of you guys this weekend as it looks like several are there.

I think you'll find that there are several M4Mers in town during Carnival! It's the peak event of the year in Brazil! After that, it's just counting down the days until the next Carnival!

It's early this year. Something like Feb. 4th or 5th. In Brazil there's a long lead-up (just like New Orleans) but in Rio the festivities peak on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before Ash Wednesday (that's when the biggest and most important parades take place). Monday and Tuesday are less frenzied than in New Orleans, where Fat Tuesday is the culmination of the madness.

Howdy South of the Border M4M'ers~

I too will partake in this year's festivities. I'm pretty sure i'm shacking up at the Royal Rio again. My dates down in Rio are currently 2/3-9. Needless to say, i'm psyched and looking foward to seeing Rio at it's most wild...

Hopefully i'll have an opportunity to meet with some of you while down South. I'm also still going through withdrawls from lack of 'Guarana,' the Brazillian hyper-caffinated soda and just might steal some away on this next trip :)

Warmest Always,

I loved that drink when I was there as the taste of Diet Coke was not the same as in USA. Now I know why!

Are you working when there Benjamin or just a vacation?

I believe the BN is doing an educational "work study abroad" $$$ course on this trip however if you should happen to accidently run into a very cute tall redhead on your visit, say HI, `cause he`s a real great guy. :-) :-) :-)

Thanks for the compliments FunSeek...

If memory serves me correct, you're no chopped liver in the diversion department either. BTW, Royal Caribbean called and said they still can't get the lube stains off of the comforter and that we'll have to buy it. I hope you like the color 'SeaFoam' green. lol.

As for Carnival, i'm flying over with someone and will be engaged the entire time i'm down in Rio. However, i do intend on meeting as many M4M'ers while i'm down, as my traveling companion is also a frequent poster here and will probably also share the same mindset.

Nights of LeBoy and Pointe 202 dance in my head already ;)

Warmest Always,

Hello all -

My pal Skewerpole and I will be in Brazil from Feb. 3-21. We're planning to spend our time between Rio and Sao Paulo, and I will probably go to Iguazu Falls as well. We're looking forward to meeting and hanging with forum members.

Guys, I have only been to Rio's Carnaval once and found the time and the experiences that I underwent to have been quite exhilarating to say the least. I'd recommend that you and friends go to the Banda Parade in Ipanema, take in one of the famous gay balls (costumed or not), the Sambadroma event or the Parade of Champions or both. If you do the latter two events, take a good stadium cushion..

Enjoy for yourselves to the fullest! :9

Hi new at this. This was kinda a inside joke between BN and myself.

Most US airlines have linked shopping portals(like an online mall)to their frequent flier programs and you can earn miles by shopping through those portals.

Here is the link for the Continental mall

http://www.continental.com/onepass/earn/shopping/default.asp

I have earned over 80,000 miles this year by shopping this way and linking my credit card to my airline of choice's dining rewards program. This is on top of flown miles and miles earned via hotel and credit cards.

RE: CO shopping mall portal

aka, we're 'Mileage Junkies' }(

With CO being one of the few airlines not teetering on bankrupcy, they're one of my favorites to fly with (along with AA). BigGuy and i have an understanding of mass mileage need and then hopefully someday being able to use them to procure escort services...

Imagine if you will~ Who needs money for an escort when you can mileage your way to your favorite guy?

In the words of Judy Tenuta: 'It could happen'

Happy Holidays,

I'll be there for the first time. My trip this time is for almost five weeks. Lucky me. Any recommendations on festas this year? Also, since the last boat leaves at 11:00PM, any info on nice but inexpensive hoteis as my sometimesBF who lives in Leblon, has an apartment that is very samll. As well, the entire building is being rehabbed while the residents are living within the mess.
