Recent exchanges have been demoralizing in their viciousness and real or imagined threats. Reading through some, I cringe at our cruelty to each other, and especially the crudeness of a few who manage - following a lot of wasted time checking an individuals previous posts and/or reviews - put together a string of "ad personam" insults meant only to denigrate the person (whether he is anonymous in his name or not) to others here.

 

While it is easy enough to hold that such trivial remarks should not bother anyone, we are human and they do bother us.

 

When you started this site way back, it was a welcoming place where clients could come to check and compare information. Soon it became a nice quiet anonymous "club" where we also could hear the banter of some of the escorts (and because of this, I hired a few in the States and Europe, escorts who I probably would not have even looked at before, but whose posts drew my interest and intrigue). For about a year, I rarely hire an escort now without checking what others have said about him here - IF he has a review.

 

In submitting information both in the many reviews I have posted (under another name, which I have consistently used in reviews since I first submitted them back in 2000 - in case some of the junior detectives want to go off hunting my "identity"), and here on the Message Boards, I have tried always to be open and honest about myself and my experiences, opening myself too I suppose to criticism.

 

What I did not expect (nor others, from what I gather recently) has been the venom coming at many of us from a small handful of individuals (or maybe only one or two with many names???) who have hijacked the message boards constantly turning topics onto themselves, or more sinisterly now using the "ratings" section to dissect individuals in public.

 

Occasionally you and/or the other Moderators have held a kind of "cooling off" period, or tried to restore some decorum to the posts, such as now. I hope it works... but experience has shown it may break down again.

I've been playing on the internet since it was all text. The Message Boards then were the same as now. Good conversation peppered with trolls trying to stir up trouble. Someone came up with the term Netiquitte and some guidelines to go along with it, but there have always been some loose cannons to burst the party balloons. The party can keep going without baloons. Don't let negative people get to you. It's only a Message Board, it's not the World Series. :-)

Thanks for the reminder of the policy. In spite of the "craziness" that perennially occurs here, I've made some very nice friends among escorts and fellow clients alike.
