The large and mainly São Paulo site, http://www.olimpos.com.br has been revamped. Much of it is a paid site, but you can still see thumbnails of escorts clicking on "Acompanhantes" and then on the subsequent categories. However, as a clever new touch, there's an image on the index page that says "Neste clube, tamanho é documento." Click on that to see thumbnails of the biggest guys advertising on the site! :p For the Portuguese-challenged, on arriving at Olimpos click on "Ir ao menu," then on "Visitantes" on the following page. That'll get you to the index page. To navigate to all the models (and there are hundreds) click on the "Acompanhantes" button in the menu and then on the various subsequent choices. The site is clunky and slow, but the selection is huge.

By the way, I'm currently using IE 5.2.2 with the new Mac OS 10.2. I notice IE doing weird things, and on the Olimpos page the letters in the menu buttons are illegible. ("Acompanhantes" is the top button in the list, if you want to see all the escorts.) Is it only me having the legibility problem? Or is everyone experiencing the same thing? This is the only site on which I've run into this particular illegibility weirdness.

For lagniappe, a few other Sampa sites you guys might enjoy exploring are http://malicia.com.br; http://www.lovemodels.net; and http://www.abusado.com.br. Some of these also feature women; the key words you're looking for will be "acompanhantes masculinos," "garotos," "rapazes," "homens," etc. Happy exploring!

Question 1 is "How did you hear about Olimpos?" An answer would be "Em outro site."

Question 2 is "What caught your attention on Olimpos?" An answer would be "O Clube Tamanho É Credencial."

Question 3 is "Do you subscribe to another site? Which?" The first answer would be "sim" or "não." If "sim," give the name of the site to which you subscribe.

Please report back on your success in subscribing, and whether you find it's worthwhile.

Tri, thanks so much for your response and answers to the questions. I have tried to subscribe - twice, as a matter of fact - but can't get thru. Won't accept my password. I guess I'll be billed twice on my CC but only tried to subscribe for 30 days each time. Maybe I'm supposed to wait for an e-mail confirmation from Olimpos(?) so all may not be lost!! It's probably a good thing if I can't sub. since I would spend sooo much time looking. There are so many hot guys on that site! BTW, I took your advice and have submitted 5 reviews to hooboy re escorts in Rio. One (Lucas) was published 10/5 - though without photo and one (Dennis) was published today. I have 2-3 more to submit. Thanks again for the answers re Olimpos. Guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

Well, let us know whether you were ever successfully able to subscribe. (I've been tempted myself!) Also, on the subscription page it says if you ever want to unsubscribe to just send them an e-mail at the address shown. In case you don't want to be a subscriber-for-life. You probably have to provide your username and password when you do that.

Anyway, I'll be interested to hear about your subscription, if it goes through!

Tri, I have tried all afternoon to get thru to Olimpos website and keep getting "server can't be found". Maybe they're down for maintenance - probably adding my user ID and password! Will keep trying because I really want to sub. to this site and think I've actually subscribed twice! Here's another hot site - http://www.tudook.com.br/linkseroticos2.htm Scroll down to Gays section.

Tri, have you or anyone had experience sending cash to Rio? I have been sending cash - maybe 10 or 20 to Morenno, aka Marcio, aka Michel. He did not/has not asked me for money. I'm doing it because I really like him and he can use the money. Anyway, a friend from El Salvador told me I should not send cash because it would never make it to MMM. I've tried to ask him on the phone if he received the cash but we have somewhat of a problem communicating. He replies "oh yes, thank you, thank you" but I am not sure he understands what I'm asking. I think that cash has as much chance as a money order. What do you think? A Western Union MO only cost .69 (a good price huh).

Thanks

I don't know if a Western Union money order can be cashed in Brazil. You'd have to ask. I've sent money to Brazil over the years, and it's been almost always been delivered without any problem. Just send it enclosed in a couple pieces of paper, or between a couple of postcards or in a greeting card so when it's help up to the light nobody can see that there's money in the envelope.

For $10 - $20, it's probably not worth the effort of getting a money order. For larger amounts you can ask at the post office about international money orders. But I've always just taken my chances with cash. For larger sums, if you want to be sure it doesn't get pilfered send it by registered mail with return receipt requested (about $6 - $7) or international express mail (about $22). I've tried sending money using the international priority mail envelopes, which aren't very expensive, but at least once the recipient said the envelope arrived empty. So I've gone back to using registered or express mail, which can be tracked. My friends in Brazil say those are safe methods of sending cash.

I'm using 5.2.2 with OS-10.1.5 and only the top button was illegible (many thanks for indicating it was that button) -- however I have found that if you wave the cursor over the offending icon the text will show up. Very annoying to say the least. I'm not sure if it's an IE issue or whatever program is most popularly being used on many Brazilian websites as that is where I've often seen this happen.

Having just had some disastrous experiences with OS 10.2.1 (my address book was completely obliterated and a large part of the mail I received since switching to OS 10 was rendered unreadable) I spent quite a while on the phone with the Apple Help Desk. While I had them on the line, I mentioned the irritating things going on with sites that are heavy on the Java. Apparently, IE is using an early Java engine for the Mac. Click on this site: http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n75097 and download and install Mac OS Runtime for Java 2.2.5. Hopefully that'll fix some of the problems! Meanwhile, I'm still going to have to reconstruct my address book, and the old mail seems to be gone for ever. If this happens to anyone else, they recommended running the Disk First Aid after booting from the Mac OS X installation disk. (It's in the folder Disk Utilities.) Hope this helps, and that my bad Mail experience was a unique fluke. I do know it wasn't caused by a virus, so it had to be something else that's way over my head technically!

yes, I had similar problems as well -- though I just switched to using a Mac 8 months ago so I started with OS-X as a real guinea pig... and at the same time bought the Handspring Treo 180. I had some real problems at first with connecting printers and scanners, as you'd have to download new compatible drivers as seemingly no one non-Apple made the switch by then. Imagine the frustration for NEW Mac user! Thankfully I had a couple friends I know who do Mac support for a living who would come over to my apartment, and even then they'd spend HOURS trying to fix things. My whole database for Entrouage disappeared TWICE. And I didn't manage to get the Treo to HotSych until a month ago because it lacked a proper conduit -- I had to learn some wierd back door way to do it from a web board. Oh well, I guess it is a learning experience.

I'll try downloading that link -- thanks for the info! :)

I'm technologically challenged, but not so much that I couldn't glean from the knowledgeable techie I spoke with at Mac that directories and B-trees (whatever they are) in OS X can get screwed up. I think that happened in my case because I've been loading a lot of new software and things began getting disconnected or located in the wrong places. While you're starting up with OS X and installing new software, I have a feeling that running Disk First Aid frequently will help repair any screw-ups and perhaps PREVENT the loss of data. No guarantees, of course, but it can't hurt. I sure as hell am going to do it after this experience!

There's nothing wrong with Jaguar. It's very reliable, stellar performance, easy to configure, and pleasant to look at.

All you have to do is blame Microsoft for making such a crappy software as IE. Why don't you use Omiweb? much faster rendering pages. Better yet, the new Mozilla

Well, OS X seems more stable than its predecessors, but it's not flawless. The loss of my address book and lots of e-mail messages happened in Apple's own "Mail" program, not in IE. IE has its own problems, of course, but they it does seem to be running better since I downloaded the MRJ update mentioned above. The latest glitch is that I just got back from out of town, where I was connecting with my laptop to the Internet using the internal modem. When I got home tonight and tried switching back to the AirPort wireless configuration, I could never connect. I think something's gone screwy with it. What's worse is I can't find anyway to check, or to reconfigure the AirPort. Arrrgh!

funny thing is that I really just switch to a Mac for the "challenge" and because they just "look better"

Well, the Mac help line got me through re-configuring my AirPort and now everything works again. But my own efforts trying t do the obvious got me nowhere. This was trickier than one would have thought.

Anyway, I still prefer Mac to PC, but there definitely are still some glitches in OS 10.2.1, and not everything is intuitive. As they work out the bugs it'll be a terrific system.

Now http://www.olimpos.com.br has added videos and has got to be the hottest site on the internet. There are at least a dozen videos from 1 minute to 14 minutes and the quality - picture and sound is excellent. This area is a Members Only area. Subscription is only US$5.53/month or R$20./month. The models/escorts on the videos are beautiful. Tri, thanks for helping me join this site - you helped with translation. This is the best $5.53 I've ever spent!!
