Hmmmmmm, maybe I jumped the gun by saying that there are other cities that are prettier. What I meant was I found some cities more relaxing and CLEAN. Rio has some dirty parts, but overall, the topography is breathtaking.

The cable car rides up Sugar Loaf Hill was incredible... the views from those mountains were beyond imaginable. You can spend a whole day up there reading newspapers and writing postcards... what a view.

Christ the Redeemer is their national landmark it seems. The roads were closed at the bottom, so you have to hike 30 minutes uphill to get to the statue... totally worth it!

The Botanical Gardens was a nice change of pace. It wasn't very flower oriented, but then again, it is a tropical country. It was so peaceful (I needed it after the workout TomCal-Ho and m4mSF put me through). I spent a whole afternoon walking thru the gardens listening to my CD soundtrack of The Mission. I would not trade that traquility for anything.

I was scheduled to do a rain forest tour by jeep, but something went wrong... hmmmmm, TomCal-Ho, what went wrong???? Let's see...

TomCal-Ho dragged our asses to the saunas until the wee hours of the night... we went to that horrific restaurant... TomCal-Ho picked up his 9th trick of the night... STIFFED us with the bill in the middle of dinner and said "Hey guys, I'm going back to the hotel... I don't think I can wake up in time for the jeep tour... let's cancel it".

WHORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, you guys might think I'm ragging on TomCal-Ho 'cause he's now a good friend, but trust me, if I had a computer during my time in Rio, I would be reporting daily what a Ho-bag slut he truly was. OMG.

I can't even begin to describe him without feeling like I need a shower!!! Everything is sex, sex, sex... yeah, I might be a gay man, but I don't need sex every two hours. Yikes.

I first met TomCal via email. I could tell by his profile that he liked sex. LOL. That profile!! Anyway, we met in person in Vegas... I flew up there to meet him on one of his business trips. All he could talk about were the boys of Rio... nothing else. Every sentence was like "he's got a huge dick"... "I f*cked him every night at the hotel", etc. I thought to myself "OMG... what is the third person like going on our trip like? I'm a simple guy... I don't want to go to the saunas everyday. I want to go shopping and sightseeing".

So, off to Rio we went with huge anticipation. I met m4mSF and realized "ok, he's more my speed. He's in-between TomCal-Ho and conservative me... this will be fun".

I think I first realized I was in trouble when TomCal-Ho said in the taxi ride from the airport "OK, the saunas don't open until 3:00... What should we do??" Ugh, from then on, it was SAUNA SAUNA SAUNA for TomCal-Ho. I just couldn't go that much... I had to do sightseeing and shopping.

Here's TomCal-s daily itenarary:

12am-2am: Pick up a trick from Maxims or that awful restaurant

2am-7am: Sex, Sex, Sex

7am-Noon: Sleep

Noon: 1st sauna boy arrives for a private hotel appointment

1pm: 2nd sauna boy

2pm: Phone call to me "Hey, I've got a boy here... I can't make

lunch. You go ahead with m4mSF... I'll meet you later"

2pm-4pm: More sauna boys (Marriot is now charging an entrance fee)

4pm: I get a message (Hey, I'm on my way to 117. Meet me there)

4pm-6pm: Hit Estacion

6pm-8pm: Hit Roger's

8pm-11pm: Go back to 117 ("I think more boys will be there")

11pm: Find m4m and me.."Hey, I forgot to eat. Let's get dinner"

11:30pm: Eat appetizers... while waiting for entree, spots a boy

11:30:05 Ditches us... goes over to the boy

12am: "Hey guys... I'm going back to the hotel. Later"

And the saga continues. Honestly, do you think I'm kidding??? I will swear on every pair of shoes I own that this is what happened daily.

I just got so tired of sex by the end... you seriously can't perform anymore. I don't use viagra, so I'm au natural. After five boys in one night, that's enough for me. I can't even count the number of boys at the saunas TomCal-Ho did... one every thirty minutes? He was on a mission. All the boys kept asking me "where's amigo"?

Ugh... those nightmare sauna visits! LOL. Half the time, I just sat there thinking "am I really here? Ugh. I'm done... I want to go". Finally on the fourth day, I decided to go at my own pace.

On TomCal's last day in Rio, he went to the saunas at 3pm. His flight was at 10pm (it was originally 7pm, but I think he wanted to go to the sauna... go figure). I joined him at 6pm and well, TomCal-Ho just rubbed off on me. We were gonna walk back to the hotel at 8pm so he could get his suitcase. We both found our "last boys" at 7:00. I went upstairs to my cabine and when I came back down, it was 8:50pm!! Oh my... I ran back to the Marriot, but TomCal-Ho was gone. :< My friend and tour guide was now gone (m4mSF had left earlier that day). Sigh.. what to do... hmmm, back to the sauna! LOL

My longest session was with Rodney (one of the twins) at Estacion. I went up at 10pm... came back down at 12:30am!!! Yikes... he just kept going and going... he had MULTIPLE orgasms and kept wanting to do more. I finally stopped it 'cause I thought "I think we've been here over an hour... I need to go". The horrors I felt when I walked back down and the bar was empty... Rodrigo (Rodney's twin) was fully dressed and yelled at Rodney to hurry up. LOL. He was cute about it. I felt so bad 'cause it was a slow night and I knew Rodrigo was ready to go.

Anyway, enough sauna stories. I'm sure you guys will have your own tales. I don't get vividly explicit, but I tell it like I see it.

TomCal-Ho, dearest... wanna try Prague or Montreal next?? LOL

PS... the men of Ipanema... OMG... Barbie doll beach. Everyone is soooooo damn fit and wearing cute, square cut speedos. And they just LOVE tourist boys... we're fresh, different meat to them. Way better than the sauna boys, but the sauna boy is a sure bet and safer. In any case, you will not be disappointed.

Andre would be my current favorite in Rio. He does party and is big fun. Possibly one of the best bods I've ever seen and what a fantastic fuck. The only guy I did more than once. Actually 3 times.

Too bad, LA. Anyone heading to Rio, definitely check out the jeep tours. This RG (real girl) with whom I was hiking volcanos in the Atacama told me about this before my trip to Rio last Feb. and hooked me up with the owner, whom she knew. (She comes from an old Carioca family.) Big, big fun. You can have them go wherever.

<He was on a mission

Apparently this was TomCal's third venture to Rio. I'd presume from what you wrote, he truly was on "a sexual mission"! That was the initial purpose of this trip. I think TomCal and you should have discussed particulars before you left the States in terms of times together, etc...

Perhaps he did the cultural "thing" during his other two trips.

Not to cast aspersionsor be judgmental, but why did you NOT split from time to time and just "do your own thing"? That is what I'd advise next time.

Actually, Showbiz, it sounds like you wised up and DID go off on your own to places like the Botanical Garden. (Somehow I don't see Tomcal in the Botanical Garden, unless it's cruising the groundskeepers!) The first time you're in a foreign place where you don't speak the language I know there's "safety in numbers," so it's more tempting to stick with the person you're with, especially if he's been there before. But you eventually learned that you and Tomcal are different people, with different drives and interests, and it's good you struck off on your own to do the things you enjoy.

You're right about not many flowers at the Botanical Garden (it's more trees) but that avenue of sky-high royal palms is worth the trip alone! :-) Also, there's an orchidareum tucked in there somewhere. If you liked the Botanical Garden, another place you'd like the next time you're in Rio is the Catete Palace (Museu da República). It's a real palace, built by a baron during the Brazilian empire, which later was the presidential palace until the capital was moved to Brasilia. It's quite grand, with magnificent parquetry floors in tropical woods. There's a very nice café, and the gardens are like a mini-Botanical Garden, with their own avenue of palm trees. It's near the Catete metro station.

You should also visit the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) downtown, very close to the Santos Dumont airport. There are almost always interesting exhibitions, there's also a nice café (run by the same people who have the one at Catete Palace) and the formal tropical gardens in the surrounding park are beautiful. Walk from the MAM over to the nearyby WWII Memorial to look at the gardens. While you're at it, you can cruise the military guards at the memorial; rumor has it that they get bored and can be had! }> Kind of like the military guide at the fort in Copacabana that another poster reported doing while on a tour of that site! :p (I can see Tomcal jotting this down for his next trip as I write this!)

BTW, there's no need to avoid the "Barbies" on the beach at Ipanema if they're interested in you! You can meet some nice guys, make local friends, and there's certainly nothing the matter with sex for free! I personally don't have lots of luck there, being older and totally not-in-shape, but you guys in your thirties should be able to have a very festive time there! Same is true at the non-escort saunas, like Studio 64, for some after-the-beach fun! Then soon we'll see you guys posting wedding announcements. . . :7

I was starting to think I would have to defend myself about this last trip - }> Guys, the three of us did talk before the trip that if anybody wanted to do there own thing, leave the saunas or stay longer before the others, go someplace else, no problem. You are right Tri, I had done the jeep tours, Cable ride, diving, etc. on my first trip last Oct. I can eat at great restaurants in L.A. where I live, and in NYC and Miami where I travel monthly, BUT...what i can't do in those cities, is have sex with multiple boys in a night for $16.00

So, i told LAShowbiz, you guys go eat a nice leisurely dinner and you can come back and tell me about it, I plan to put something else in my mouth instead of food while you guys are at dinner!! We all got along great and are planning to go back together next spring, so you all can see that LA's experiences with me where not so trumatic and damaging to his conservative nature!! What I think he has neglected to tell all of you(although i haven't read all the posts yet, so he may have) is that after we left to go back to Calif. he stayed for a nother week, and picked up the torch where i had left it!! He obviously learned alot from me;) He made a good intern in to the world of Rio Suanas.

I agree about the food in Hong Kong, it is wonderful. I realized as soon as I posted that I had made a mistake. On the other hand, food

is certainly not the first, second or third thing that I think about when I look back on my trip to HK. Food would be in the top 3 when I think about Paris.

OMG... too funny. TomCal-Ho, would you like to answer this?

My post was a humorous stab at my good friend, Slutbag-Ho. I DID go and do my own thing... I even posted that I went on my own on the fourth day. I had every afternoon free (look at TomCal's intenarary... he was too busy freaking out the Marriot security), so I did all my sightseeing then. I was making fun of the fact that TomCal would CANCEL the only sightseeing event he had planned for himself... just to have sex!

This is a message board about sex... NOT the Bible... it doesn't have to be OVER-ANAL-ized (cute word, huh?)

Thanks for the laugh though... and please PLEASE don't bring a day planner to Rio to plan your every minute.... CHILL! LOL

I DENY everything... I DENY staying an extra week in Rio... I DENY going back to the saunas and having sex... I DENY being TomCal, JR...

I wuz an angel...

Oh crap... TomCal-Ho, you didn't save any of those emails, did ya??:+

PS... to everyone reading, I was NOT knocking TomCal's plans... just ribbing him (and he LOVES it!). Plus, I was forewarning all you scared little girls who may meet up with him in October. You've been warned.

And yes, Tri... I did go on my own. The orchid area of the Botanical Gardens was nice... the rose garden very sad... and I just loved the free-growing marijauna in the Medicinal Plants area (the guard kept staring at me... was I not supposed to pull it up like weeds? LOL)

I went for 10 days during and after Carnival.

The milkshake at the Marriott was chocolate squares put in a blender and then those tiny, shaved bits of chocolate were stirred into milk.

The rest of the food there was ok, safe, but just not the best, but hey, it's a Marriott, right.

The restaurant at Caesar Park - the food there would be good anywhere, and if I remember, about $60 for two, but hey, 3 desserts. Great service.

There's a great Arabic restaurant in Leblanc (sp?) that was perfect. And a french restaurant, that i can look up, but around $80 for 2, that was just perfect. Fois gras, great desserts (again), and quail or pheasant.

The steak place way down on Coppa Ave below the Copa Palace - good, good beef, great selection of salads the first night. Went back, and the two of us were sick for 3 days - the only place that made me sick. Again, great food at the Copa Palace - club sandwich and a drink at the pool in late afternoon was just great.

I steered away from the lower end places to eat, which I don't do in Europe, just to careful. So I didn't see the restaurants like a local.

Shopping, not like in America, and not what you would think after seeing so many South Americans in years gone by coming to shop in the US.

The beach - my biggest surprise, sure it's big, and looks pretty at a distance, but who would go in the water. Open sewers. Same with the canals in Leblanc, but again, a very pretty neighborhood.

Racetrack - seemed like time had gone by and u were back in the 40s, but not dressy, just kinda old, but I liked it a lot.

So like, you, other than the boys, I liked Rio, but want to see somethng else before I go back. And you're right, just the nicest, sweetest people as a group that I have ever met. I tipped the doorman $20 when I left, he'd been so kind, and he cried that we were leaving.

Jewelry - H Stern is worldclass, but I find them just too pushy. I spent part of each day avoiding them, but I had to pick up something for a relative (she'd given me the money), and I found Amsterdam Sauer much nicer, and cheaper. The manager at the one near the Copa Palace, who was Russian by the way, just asked what I wanted, gave him a $100 deposit, and he had it made up. And this for something around 10 grand.

Still laughing about going to LeBoy club; huge line in front, waited over an hour, but couldn't figure it out, just a bunch of teenagers - boys and girls. I kept thinking that it was such an odd group to be going, but hey, I'm from out of town. Of course, the line was going into the club next door (but in front of LeBoy), and Le Boy had at least 15 people at 11:00 p.m. when we finally figured it out.

The Gay Ball was fun, great costumes, but for $250 US, you got a table - awfully high. We did it, and more fun than you can imagine walking down almost a full block with crowds on both sides cheering with kleig lights - and ur on tv. The one at the Copa had equally great costumes, but straighter and the women were wearing their heavy artillery (jewelry). You don't really see that much anymore in the US. The parades were kinda fun, the costumes great, but hey, I would rather see the parades in New Orleans.

One final tip for anyone thinking of going - I didn't take a laptop, but just a disc for anything i needed. Plenty of cheap internet cafes - $5 US an hour, or it might have been $2.50 per hour, but cheap nevertheless.

Crime is a problem at dusk, so be guarded, at least in Copa.

Trilingual was very helpful to me before I went, even swapping emails. He made my trip a lot better, I guarantee you. So, perhaps a lot of this isn't interesting if you're not planning on going. After all, other people's trips are not that interesting after a few minutes - unless you have some purpose in knowing.

Sounds like the stories the lovable "Twins" tell Coo-Coo... and he swallows them (the stories... well, maybe the twins, too) to the point of wishing he were 40 (50?) years younger so he could sell his soul for the little hustlers. It's all business $$$ for them, guys.

Don't fall in love!!!

At this point Trisexual will regale us with a multi-page version of his opinion .... to rival Bleak House.

What a blast!! I really enjoyed your picaresque adventure ... Even when I had to fast forward the page for several minutes to skip Trisexual's opinions. Thank you.

I'll be there next week and I wanted to keep it a secret. If I see Americans, I'll start a subtle conversation to figure out if anyone on the board is there.

LAShowbiz asked in in his post if I wanted to answer your above post, You are taking this "way to seriously", his posts while accurate are meant to be a funny rendering of our trip, you need to loosen up and realize we were three adult men(ok, acting like boys) who are all over 35 and know how to be independent, none of us did anything we didn't want to do. Did we go our own ways at times? Absolutely, Did one of us stay at a suana while the others left? Yes. did it bother any of us? NO! We met up every day usually for lunch, and quite a few times for dinner, did i ditch them and skip dinner to be with someone new? YOu BET! as I said I can always have dinner with them(we did last week here in L.A.)but i can't always do a really hot boy whenever I want to like in Rio!! Although, the third member of our trip hasn't posted, doubt that he will, he would agree with all this, especially the part about me being a Ho!!(he was too) He is currently buying a house in Palm Springs and both L.A> and I were out looking at them with him last week, and he got one with a Casita(separate small apt. like attachment, in the courtyard to the house, he said, for me as he knows I will be bringing boys back at all hours when i visit, and this way i can come and go without waking everyone up!! btw, it was i think LA's suggestion to do that!}>
