Rates for guys over night and best hotels in Copa

Hi All,

 

Can I first say what a good job u are all doing with this board. I am Planning to go to Rio 27 sept for 10 days - any guys feel like meeting up for a drink ? email joe2001london@yahoo.co.uk

 

My question is I understand the going rate in the Saunas is 50R, what should be paid in hotel rooms for say 2 hours and say for over night stays?

 

Any advise on a good mid range hotel in Copa ?

I'd say between R$100 - R$150 for a two hour session. Maybe R$300 for an overnight. (That's more than an entire MONTH'S minimum wage in Brazil, which is currently around R$200 - 215 per month. Of course, middle class people earn more than minimum wage, but R$2000/mo. is a middle-class salary in Brazil. This will help you keep prices in perspective.)

Tri is right! In Aug when I was there, i had guys staying every night, I usually paid $100. reyas, figuring we had sex twice, when we got back to the hotel and when we awoke in the morning(even if longer then an hour). I never asked them to stay the night, they just assumed I guess or like the bed so much they always fell asleep after we had sex and so did I !!! None of them objected, so I guess they all thought it was fair. We had a way to long a thread on this topic earlier, but Don't OverPay!!!

If you're going to do an overnight (and Lord knows why you'd want to do the same guy more than once what with the quantity available), you should use a hotel other than the one in which you're staying. (Or, if you use your hotel, make sure anything of value is in your safe and you sleep with one eye open.) There were a couple of cheap hourly hotels right behind the Copacabana Palace. The rooms have mirrors on all walls and the ceiling. Kinda interesting and different.

Traveller, do you give the same cautions (take a room in a sex-only motel, stow valuables in the safe, etc) if you hire an escort from one of the agencies for an overnight period? I can certainly understand your caution with respect to the sauna guys. Are the agency guys considered more trustworthy and/or reliable?

Trilingual is right... $100-150 is a good/fair price for a two-hour session at your hotel. Most of the guys take buses which can easily add an hour or two to the session.

 

I saw Antonio (from Rogers)... he's a true gem. I hope you guys get a chance to meet him. We had a two long dates (6 hours each) and all he asked was 200 reais. He's for real. Some of the more hustlerish types would have asked for more (avoid Kevin at Estacion). Antonio offered an overnight for 300 reais (never took him up on the offer, but that's a bargain). Those are reasonable fees, so never balk... and tip well if you think they deserve it. I would have given Antonio 500 reais for an overnight, but that's just me... but he would have been happy with 300... plus you do spend an extra 100-150 for dinner. Give what you're comfortable with and both will be happy.

Never hired from an agency because I like to look at and touch what I'm buying first; which, as has been said, is incredibly easy to do in Rio. The ones I brought back to my hotel room were Le Boy go go dancers. Everything was locked up and they stayed for only an hour. Most times with the dancers, however, it was at the hourly hotel behind the Copa Palace. The sauna boys I only did in the rooms in the sauna.

 

Every time I've brought back anyone in Rio (escort or freebie), everything is locked up. Less to worry about.

I know exactly what you're talking about with Kevin, but the trick is to catch him relatively early - say 6 to 8:30 or 9 - before he's had too many drinks. He can be really fun and is great in the sack. After that he can start getting a little obnoxious (like a lot of people I know with too much to drink). Too bad. Not many of the boys drink or drug - at least at the saunas - and Kevin is one of my absolute favs sober.

I don't remember the names, but all the "boys" know where the motels are, just let them know you want to go to a sex motel, not your hotel. I have only gone to one, in copa about 10 blocks south of the Marriott, I went with two guys i met at the restaurant, it was about midnight, and it cost $50 reyas, small, but very clean, with bedspread and pillows, and very tiny bathroom, there where 3 hetro couples standing line ahead of us, looked liket the place had about a dozen rooms.
