well, damn, what to say...

I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!

i went to Estacio, embarrassed a bit in the first time, did see all the guys, and i thought: a waste of money.

Anyway i have no time to tell the whole story but i met with Roodney (one of the twins, with the tatto0), he licked my nipples, neck, my whole body, sucked my cock for hours, but i didn~t like him. In fact, i didn~t like anyone there! I also met Kevin. so what?

Damn

Man, live your name! Coolguy, cool off, please! Now, what is the story for all of us guys who will be visiting soon for the first time?

You should know by now that every guy who ventures to this particular forum want to know the "T" as some gays use and formerly used!

I am sorry to hear that your experiences were not positive, but please do feel free to write about them!

I agree that coolguy may want to think about changing his sobriquet. It really sounds as if someone had a bad case of overexpectation.

When I visited Rio last month I found that the information provided by people like Trilingual, Tomcal_ and Verde was pretty much on the mark. You said, "I didn't like anyone there!" Estacao usually had 30+ guys in their twenties at any given time when I visited. You didn't like ANYONE? Perhaps the problem was not with them. I certainly don't understand how you spent HOURS with someone you didn't like. I found many nice guys at any given time, even ones who I didn't have sex with. Some, like Kevin, were out and out hustlers, and not really my cup of tea. Others were quite charming. Most ranged from pretty good-looking to damn good-looking.

The Rio saunas are what they are. If you go expecting too much, you are likely to be disappointed. But if one actually bothers to read what the Rio experts in this forum have said, you are not likely to be disappointed. I didn't go to the saunas expecting to have the best sex of my life with the man of my dreams for hours and hours - I went expecting to have a nice time and some good sex with some cute guys. A few encounters were duds, but overall I definitely was not disappointed. And even with duds I recognized that I had only spent about $18USD. Hardly the equivalent of wasting $200 on an escort who disappoints.

Sorry if Estação wasn't for you, Coolguy. If it wasn't, the other saunas probably won't be for you, either. Not every scene works for everybody, universally. Maybe you're just not the sauna type. Or the Brazil type. Next vacation, try Berlin. Or Bangkok. Maybe one of those places will ring your chimes! ;-)

Well all I can say is different strokes for different folks. I agree with Tri. I would like to think I have a pretty high standard for hot guys and know a number of the saunas and their boys VERY well. Estacao and the two guys mentioned are definitely on MY favorites list. But whether or not these rang your bells, I don't think I've ever heard anybody have the reaction to this incredible scene that you're having. I certainly hope it improves for you.

After re-reading Coolguy's initial posting, something else comes to mind. Coolguy, is it possible you're depressed? I mean really depressed? Because if you are, that could explain your reaction to Estação, and your lack of pleasure in the entire scene.

Something about your posting suggests to me you came to Rio looking for a "cure" for something. (So do many other people!) But if you're profoundly depressed, even Rio may not snap you out of it. If you're still feeling an inability to experience any pleasure by the time you return home, you need to see a psychiatrist (an M.D., not a psychologist or social worker) and talk seriously about anti-depressants. I say this as someone who's experienced clinical depression much of my life. My life has improved tremendously thanks to modern meds. Life's too short to spend it being depressed and unable to enjoy anything!

For someone to go to Rio, spend time having hot sex with someone, and not enjoy it, and not see ANYONE else they might enjoy being with, sounds like serious depression to me. Even hot Brazilian men can't cure that! Fortunately, there are remedies for what may be ailing you. (Just be sure not to take anything that suppresses your libido. That could be depressing all by itself!) Once you've come out of the funk, give Rio another try. I suspect your reaction will be very different! Good luck!

Speaking of depression. A friend of mine told me that he feels a bit depressed after the trip to Brazil. Everything is so cheap and easy there and then come back to the states and nothing is like in Brazil.

I have been to Brazil three times (inspired by Tri's first post on Brazilian saunas :-)). In my opinion, we should not go to Brazil just for sex. There are many things to see in Brazil and dont just stay in one city, eg, Rio. Add one new city in your trip each time, it can be really fun. Fortunately, there are many cities in Brazil have saunas with boys, eg, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Sao Paulo ... and Iguacu Falls (for sightseeing only)... I have been to those cities and boys can be as good as or even better than those in Rio. If Bruno Gaucho is your type, then you should try Porto Alegre (note that Bruno originally came from Porto Alegre if I remember correctly), boys there are even cheaper and nicer :-).

BTW, Tri should get a medal from Brazilian tourist Bureau. :-)

I concur with the recommendation not to go with one agenda item only. That leaves too much riding on that item and basically is a set-up for disappointment. I always have FOOD on my list of things to enjoy as well as visits to points of interest. I set a leisurely pace to my day time agenda so that energy for night time pursuits is available. I find the suggestions made in this conference useful to help ensure that my late Nov. trip to Rio is a success. I might also suggest to Coolguy that he pick-up a paperback book entitled "Feeling Good" by Davis Burns, MD. I've found the book of tremendous help in looking at my expectations and keeping them realistic--simple strategy and it works!

:-)))))

looking for "cure"?

depressed?

no, noway. It~s just that "overexpecting things". The most i was annoyed was the "hustler~s place". The place was a damn shit. Reminded me movies from 40/s, :-))) The only person missing from the scene was Caligula! :-))))

And the guys. They were ok, don~t doubt, but..... travel 5000 miles to see guys when you have much better dudes hanging out at beaches in homeland?

I found much better guys hanging out at Ipanema beach. I met a local guy here (arrangements through gaydar) and he told me: DONT go to saunas. But i did!

And what most annoyed me was the "clients". Damn, red colored hair, fats, guys you expect to see in gay comedies, awful, blonde girlies-pussies types, at their 60~s, 70~s, handicapped. And i thought: what am i doing here? Ok, the boys there were very warm with me, they all wanted to know me, go upstairs with me, their eyes couldn~t hold off me, maybe cause i was the younger and most hard bodied "client" there. And again i thought: If the boy was sucking these pussies clients dicks, if it was wityh condomn, that~s ok,

if it was without, do i get hepatitis or herpes?

And it gor worse! I went with a friend met from SF (damn, although he was versatile, he was looking NORMAL)to 117! That place was a disaster!

ok for one or 2 times, but going there every day, i would for sure become depressed. The scene with the disco and all boys dancing and kissing in public with men in their 60~s? maybe 70~s was so strange. Tooooo gay for me to handle. sorry i can~t post more, when i got time i will for sure

Thanks for posting and answering my initial question of two days ago. Now that you have vented-- do you feel better? Remember Coolguy, men come in all shapes and sizes and ages.

Why did you choose to go to Brasil in the first place-- to experience the culture, food, music, fauna, etc...? I am curious since you only alluded to the sauna or sex adventures only...!

<When I went to saunas while in Australia some time ago, I was in really good shape (physically), but there were guys there who were young who seemed to have really gotten involved with men who were overweight and were not in their twenties or thirties or forties; I happened NOT to be "turned off" by this! I thought if that is what the two or more wanted-- then what the hell. Who was I to cast judgment? Do we not engage the services of escorts here, something that I have only recently been into... Are the escorts casting attitude when some of their clients are obese or perhaps grossly so or seemingly beyond in years?

Think about it!

Also, when I was at a bathhouse in Melbourne, an extremely goodlooking hunk Kiwi from New Zealand asked me to fist him; although I have a strange self-concept (which many of my friends question), I found it flattering to be asked to do this when I'd never done it! But when I did fist this muscular fellow I liked doing it and questioned why he had chosen me. Anyway-- if the men get involved with other men who are older are larger, why should we let that situation interfere with our pleasures?>

...thought I'd lend some sort of light on your dilemma. I do hope that you'll address some of the questions I raised here when you get the opportunity.

Dude,

Between Ipanema Beach, the gym (which you at least claim to go to), Bofetada, Le Boy and the X-Demente Party, if you can't get laid at least 3 times a day outside of the saunas (escort or not), you're either not bathing or are butt ugly; and the not bathing part would probably not be that much of an issue anyway.

Later.

I find coolguys' two posts here very strange for more then just the fact he couldn't find anyone to his liking. His wording and tone are so different from the questions he asked over the last few months. When a guy uses language that sounds like it comes from a bad porn movie, i.e. "girlie pussy..." (considering a week ago he was asking about bringing bath gel, etc, to the suanas--somewhat girleie if you ask me)to me that sounds more like the type of language guys who have some self hatred about being gay so they want to elevate themselves above the rest of the gay types they see as an antithesis to their image they want to have of them selves. While I can appreciate the fact that we all have different types and he may have not seen anyone to his liking there(but i find this highly improbable)to denigrate the other type of guys there i think is wrong, they can't help if they are in their 60's or 70's or disabled, etc. Again I find that strange as i have been to Rio three times in the past year, have seen guys in their 30's and 40's to be quite common in the suanas, and the fewest guys being one's in their 60' and 70's(but more power to them! hope i can still roll into a suana when i am that age) Cooguy mentions they all wanted him because he more hard bodies and younger... GET OVER YOURSELF! first off, My friends and I that went last Oct, were all in their 30's and would best be described as "gym rats", BB's, but the guys were all over them not because of their great bodies and faces, but because they had $$ and I am sure they were all over you for that reason and that reason only, otherwise they would have asked you on dates afterwards!

As an aside my friends and I, who all date frequently here in L.A. and frequent the beaches alot, all agreed the guys we saw in Rio and in the Saunas equal or exceed what we have seen here at the So. Calif. beaches, or at the Black and Blue Ball in Montreal, or the White party in Miami, or Ibiza in the summer.

But I can still appreciate Coolguys opinions if they are honest as he has now been to Rio and seen the guys, Seaguy you on the other hand have not been there, so i guess your comment agreeing with coolguy is for no other reason then to "stir the shit". While I didn't agree with your eoncomic posts, they were well argued and obviously thought out, this one, really carries no merit, you should be as hot as the kennel bitches and stud with fleas you refer to.

Wow, the dalmation has certainly shown her spots. Her poor exploited unfortunates are now "'studs" with plenty of fleas." Guess she knows what to expect from her dream "stud" Bruno.

As for self-proclaimed "coolguy", he can't even find the apostrophe on the Portuguese keyboard. Nice slam on the handicapped, too. Way cool. Girlfriend is in for a few surprises in the next few years.

To address your post pshaw, Bruno's site states it most succinctly;

"Gosto muito de respeitar e ser respeitado."

I enjoy showing respect and enjoy being respected in turn.

He doesn't work the saunas or at sauna rates. Whether he did in the past I can't say, but he doesn't now. As for him being my dream stud, hardly, just seems like a nice, goodlooking kid. I wish him the best as I do the guys who do work the saunas. They deserve and should demand to be respected and have there labor adequately recompensed given their clientele. Enough said, I am not running for Brazilian Sex Workers Union leader so I've had enough of pontificating as I'm sure you are all tired of being lectured. Bottom line, treat others as you wish to be treated. FIM :*

Now we have the trisexual MD psychiatrist. With me, it was I "needed adjustment on my 'meds'" -- straight out of QAF. Could it be you're the one fucked up and delusional about controlling this message board, as well as others' destinies. Go fuck off, TriBeCa !

Coolguy, I still find your reactions odd. What DID you expect you'd find at the saunas? If you read the review on "Brazilian Saunas," or any of the threads on this board, I have difficulty imagining that you wouldn't have had a pretty good idea of what you'd find there before going to Rio. As for the other clients, what were you thinking? Although there are some younger, hard-bodied clients at these places, mostly the clients are older and not gorgeous. If they were young and beautiful they'd probably be at the beach in Ipanema, or the clubs, or the non-escort saunas, because they wouldn't have much trouble finding partners. Besides, you weren't at the saunas to meet the clients, you were there to meet the guys who work there? So why were you so bothered by the clients?

Besides having learned that the escort saunas are not to your liking, I think you need to ask yourself some questions about why you reacted the way you did, especially towards the clients. Has it never occurred to you that one day you will be old? Or possibly handicapped? Or flabby? If it has occurred to you, are you having problems facing the eventuality of growing old? You need to deal with that, because it WILL happen to you, and you need to be prepared for it as your life takes its natural course.

And what is your homeland that has better looking boys on the beach than Brazil? Because I think we'd all like to see that place! :-)
