Don't know when - maybe July or August and need some help making decisions.

1. Which would be the best month - weather wise?

2. Concerning hotels. Was considering Hotel Apa. However, Hotel de Bres sounds inviting. Someones recommendation please. I'm not interested being on the beach. Can you take guest to your room in either hotel?

3. Escort Agencies - have looked at agencies in netgay.com. Some have e-mail addresses. I e-mailed Apollo Agency. Their rate is $80.00US for 90 minutes. Does this sound right? Forgot to ask if that is in or out. Does anyone know what agencies policy is concerning in/out calls? Have e-mailed Germanos few min. ago. Does anyone know about Tower Agency?? Seems they have younger escorts (which I like) but no e-mail address.

Not too many agencies have e-mail addresses.

4. Is it GENERALLY safe to take an agency escort to your room?

Thanks very much for your/anyones help!!!

1. Weather will be similar in either month. July can be nice and it's a school vacation month, so Rio is more crowded with local Brazilian tourists (and guys!).

2 and 4. Either hotel is fine. There's also the Astoria Copacabana on the same block as the Apa. These last two are closer to the baths, gay beach and metro than the Debret -- they're easy walks from the hotel. You should be able to take visitors to your room, but they may give you some grief about it, like taking your visitor's ID before he goes up, or charging you a double instead of a single rate. The hotels have all had experiences of a guest's "visitor" walking out with credit cards/cash/Rolex/etc. and would like to avoid that. It's safer to go with someone you don't know to a "motel." See listings on http://www.netgay.com.br or http://www.gay-rio.com However, it should be safe enough to have someone you hire through an established agency to your room. The agency knows who they are and how to track them down if there are any problems. I haven't used the agencies myself (the saunas are SO easy) but at least some of them have places where they can take in calls.

3. US$80 doesn't sound that out of line for an agency in Brazil, especially if you really get 90 minutes, but in off-season (August) I'd see if I couldn't get something closer to $60. US$80 = R$200 which is somewhat high by Brazilian standards. On the other hand, the agencies have expenses that the guys who work the saunas don't. However, I think Apollo's may be somewhat more expensive than the other agencies. Consider, though, that if you go to a sauna and spend roughly 30 minutes each with two guys, plus admission, rental of "cabines," refreshments and other extras, you probably will have spent nearly $80. So it's up to you, depending on your tastes.

Hope this helps!

I've used Apollo. Nice guy, about the only agency speaking English, and the boy was O.K. But the primary reason I did it was that I was not yet familiar with the saunas and was really trying to stay within my own comfort zone. Once I ventured out into the saunas, it was all over for the agencies. The first-hand selection, the variety, the safety, the totally clean facilities, the no-hotel-hassle, the cost... you get the idea. This is THE time and THE place to get a little adventurous - you'll never regret it.

I neglected to say I'll be back in Brazil very late June/early July for ten days or two weeks (will have my schedule soon) in Sao Paulo, then Rio, then back in Sao Paulo. If our times coincide, I'd be delighted to break bread and show you the ropes.

Get a load of this one. He advertises in the Rio paper "O Globo".

Check him out: http://www.brunogaucho.hpg.com/br

22 y.o. student, In - R$80 (discount price of R$70 thru O Globo ad). Out - R$100 plus taxi.

Will be in Rio (his base) until 10 May then will be away in Sao Paulo for 20 days. Doesn't say if he has English.

RE: Bruno Gaucho

My, oh my! DO visit the corrected website shown in one of the other posts and feast on the pix!!! For the Portuguese-challenged, he's 22, about 5'10", pushing 9", and studying aviation at the Estácio de Sá University. From the pictures and nom-de-porn Bruno is obviously one of those blond hunks from deep southern Brazil. His private apartment is on r. Ronaldo de Carvalho, which, I might add, is very convenient to Odilo's Rio Apartment (featured in other posts on this board) and to hotels like the Astoria Copacaban, Apa, Excelsior, Copacabana Palace, etc.

The site doesn't mention if he speaks any English, but I would guess that if he's at university level and studying aviation he's able to speak at least some. Also, because the south of Brazil borders on the Spanish-speaking countries, people from there are more likely to understand Spanish and speak it, or at least the bastardized mixture known as "portuñol." ;-) Can't wait for an actual review of this one!!!

RE: Bruno Gaucho

If you guys care to know, this kid's for real. Everything you see and read on his site is true. He's a doll, very friendly/chatty, describes himself as "extrovertido", bi-sexual, fabulous kisser, both active and passive. His statistics are correct, fat uncut tool with lots of skin to munch on. His ass is the 'piece de resistance'. It just drove me wild. Never tasted anything so sweet, smells like baby breath.I could have rimmed him all night. Had an extended session with him last night in his neat apartment on 236 Ronald de Carvalho near Ave.N.S.de Copacabana. The only sour note was that he didn't come, but he was very apologetic and promised to do so the next time around. The reason: he had a prior appointment with a regular client right after my extended hour (he accommodated my schedule). The client is brazil's no.1 dermatologist, pays a bundle and gets his rocks off by watching him pose, masturbate and ejaculate. Bruno(his profl name)just didn't want to disappoint him. Apparently, Bruno's clientele are high-class, he mentioned expats, politicos, stars, etc. He's from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, of italian descent and a student pilot. He's training to become a helicopter/small planes pilot. His feet are firmly on the ground too. What money he makes (I understand he's doing very well) he sends to his family who's moved to Campinas, S.P. where they've just opened a small factory that manufactures wrapping tin foil paper or something. Oh, by the way, his English is almost non-existent. He told me that he's received emails from the US and Europe and he didn't understand how people found him and also had difficulty in replying in English. He doesn't have a computer at home but he goes to a net cafe. Then I mentioned this site and he said "legal" (cool in Port.) So if you're going to contact him be very brief and to the point and speak very slowly. I told him to learn more English. I'll do a full scale review when I get back. He's got a new web site which I'll post soon as I get it. Just wanted to have this report on record in case I forget some details. Been a very hectic week. Right now I'm off to Estacao where, by the way, the current stars are the 20-year old twins Rodrigo and Marcus. But that's the subject of another write up. Tchau. Beijos.

>Good grief! I hope there will enough guys to go around ;-)

>I will be there June 30 thru July 8.

Never a problem at Estacio and 117, there are always more then enough boys to go around, even on a busiest Friday nights, the ratio is still at least 3 to 1 , boys to customers! Rogers more like 2 to 1 as they have fewer boys then the other two, usually only 10 - 12 it seems, where at 117 last month, there where 20+ guys there on some nights, same at Estaco.

That's right. All the termas with boyz in Rio need more clients, it's very slow. So hurry up, the garotos are waiting. At Estacao, don't forget to look for the twins or the word in Portuguese "gemeos" (pron. GEM-yos). have them separately or together. double the fun.

Now that I have airline ticket in hand (Expedia) and hotel reservations confirmed (Copacabana Mar at $60 a day + taxes - I will give feedback on my return), another question for the experts. I have booked a double room - as a general rule, will this help if I decide to bring someone back to the room, or is it still pretty much a crapshoot as to what the hotel front desk will decide to allow and/or charge? My guess at the answer is the latter :-)

Verde, i saw the twins at Estacio last month, but did not go with them, have you been with them? Are they inhibated at all when they are together with a guy? One of the problems i have had with guys who i have been with at the suanas alone and then been with them in a threesome is that they act much differently when one of their "friends are in the room with them, i.e. - they won't bottom in front of a friend, etc. There are also two brothers(not twins, but look very much alike) at Rogers' both about 6'2", about 20 or 21, both with big dicks,

I really wish I could read Portugese! ...went to Fabiano's site. My oh my oh myyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! I have to see this man when I visit this country and that city in September. He's luscious all over. And that ass?

Thanks men for alerting us/me! My desire to travel to Brazil intensifies everytime I come to this particular segment of the message center. It, the info and what it produces, titillates as well as says-- yes, book and gooooooooooo!

All advice that has been rendered has been superb, and I do tremendously thank all respondents. You all have been authentic jewels.:) :)

Two questions, men: Is September a good time to go to Rio, San Paulo, and Bahia? Also, I believe Tri stated that a good time to make plane reservations is during the summer. Did I read correctly and place this advice with the right individual? Please help with my brief confusion.

I didn't want to do too much surfing the web or site or mc to find the information.

When you get right down to it, there's never a bad time to go to Brazil. So just pick dates that work for you and do it!!! Ask the travel agents about fares; there are high and low seasons, but I don't know the beginning and ending dates. September isn't a big month, though, so there may be low season fares.

Tomcal...

Make that FOUR of us from the West Coast!!! All this talk of hot Brazilian boys has made me decide to go to Rio in August (1st three weeks), so I'll see you there! Since you're an "expert" now, I hope you show me around the first time at a sauna. When am I gonna see the pics you took? LOL.

Okay guys.... who else is intrigued enough to book a flight to Rio in August? The more, the merrier!
