That is right! I was at the Hustlerball last night in New York City. I had a good time but I thought I needed to start a book afterwards. For example,

1. Even gay men can be pushy and shove everyone. I always thought that most gay men were easy going and more passive. Well, I saw the football players from my high school come out in droves last night. It was so packed and so crowded, it was hard to move two feet. However, there were those that pushed and shoved so violently, to get around the mass of men, that I saw more than one person fall down from getting pushed around.

2. Even gay men don't understand why someone would go to a bar and not drink any alcohol. I remember getting this all the time when I was in college. Now, I get it from perfect strangers?

3. Even gay men don't know when No means No. I watched numerous guys not only hit on someone they wanted to be with, but after two and even five rejections, they keep coming back for more. The hitters didn't seem to mind, but the boys being hit on were more than slightly annoyed.

4. I could go on and on for hours but I will not! As I know that what I saw last night is not typical of me or my friends, I know that there are exceptions to everything I saw and everything I felt. And, truthfully, I love being a part of the gay community and all the diversity that we have in it. I love the fact that a gay muscle boy, a hustler, a drag queen and a perverted old man (me) can stand in a bar and have some of the most wonderful things in common. I love the fact that we can realize our differences and like each other in spite of them. But, I also hate the fact that some men remember so little of what it was like to be discriminated against for being gay that they discriminate against those in their community who are different than them (overweight, hookers, drag queens, pimps).

Well, I guess I have gone on so long that no one will read the entire passage. So I will shut up. Even though I had over 12 more reasons ready to put in this post! :)

Go ahead and post your other reasons. A little self-reflection in the community certainly can't hurt.

I was also at the Hustlerball, and my reactions were also mixed. I was amazed at the crowding: when I left at midnight, there must have been a hundred men lined up outside waiting to get in. It is hard to be polite when you are squeezed together inside so that you can hardly move or see the exhibitions, in unbreathable smoke-filled air and heat (it happened to be a record hot Oct. 24 in NYC). In that atmosphere, it's not surprising that these was much unsolicited groping and propositioning. My positive reaction was that I have never seen so many gorgeous men together in one place at one time, so it was worth the price of admission for the visuals (one bartender was probably the sexiest man I have ever seen). Luckily, I had had an appointment with Reece Rothmeier earlier in the evening, so I was feeling very laid back and philosophical about it all.

Which NYC escorts attended Hustlerball?

The only one I recognized was Eric Magyar, but I saw others who were so breathtaking that they had to be professionals.
