Lots of hustlers everywhere, half of them the usual travelling Brazilians. Find them at Sauna Adan, Calle San Bernardo 38 (Metro Noviciade), Sauna Cristal, Calle Augusto Figueron 17 or Plaza Sauna, Plaza de Espana (Galeria Comercial/Calle Gran Via 88-- Edificio Espana.

 

The Black & White bar was a something of a find... same guys there starting midnight, Calle de la Libertad 34. They have strip shows too, occasionally.

 

Prices at the saunas are really low, never pay more than ptas 5000-6000 ($25!!!) for full service. Double that to take a guy back to your room. These prices are current, I checked with a friend in Spain recently. Don't go spoiling the market with your easy dollars.

 

A word of caution... Madrid may be in Spain, but it gets awfully cold there after the summer's gone. Have fun!

Plaza Sauna struck me as dingy and undesirable. Things perked up at Adan, however. If you are in Madrid, why not hop over to Barcelona on Air Europa, to go to Thermas Sauna. A much nicer place, with what I thought was the best selection in Spain. And you can eat there too! :-)

Mr.B has it pretty much nailed on the head. I was in Madrid in April '00 at the same places. Prices were Pts5000, which was about US$33. That was before the Euro crashed. Black & White was very festive and cruisy; it's right near the Chueca Metro station. I'm with Lucky about the baths; I was surprised at how dingy and ill-kept they were, and poorly attended, at least at the times I went. The Thermas in Barcelona is far superior, indeed. Not quite at the level of the best saunas in Brazil, but really quite good. There was a breathtaking blond Russian hunk there named Dima, who says he commutes between Moscow and Barcelona. Very muscular, good English, and very professional. If that's your type, you can't go wrong with him!

 

Now, if someone would only open a really nice Brazilian-style sauna in Madrid!

Will be travelling to Madrid next week for several days - very interested in more detail re: the escort scene, specifically in the saunas. What is the best time of day? Redneck: Fear not. It's all pretty straightforward. It's true some of the guys can be kind of aggressive (think of wandering into a car dealership) but you're under no obligation to buy! Go have a sauna, cruise the showers and cabin areas, and see if anyone strikes your fancy. Of course, if you've been chatting a guy up for a while and it hasn't gone anywhere, be a sport and spring for a drink or a snack.

 

How much time you'll get depends on how busy the place is when you're there, the amount of competition, etc. You certainly should get at least half an hour at a busy time, which is about standard, but more isn't uncommon. I've rarely felt rushed, in any event. Negotiation is fine, although English isn't as widely spoken in Spain as you might have heard, so brush up on your Spanish!

 

I'd say busiest times are between 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., when not much else is happening: it's too early to eat or go out, so this is a good time for the guys and their customers to get together! But let everyone know how it goes when you get back! Have fun!

Trilingual is right about the times of day that are best suitable and the kind of deal you're likely to get. Bear in mind that these guys are not escorts, they're hustlers, but on the other hand, most of them seem to actually enjoy having sex with their clients.

 

If you cannot talk to them in Spanish and agree specifically what you require, you've got a bit of a handicap... here's what you do: under no circumstances do you agree to pay more than 5000 upfront, then you see how it goes, try and get what you want, and if you're really happy, tip an extra 2000. It's still unbelievably inexpensive, to the point where you can easily afford to miss out on a couple of attempts. Never let them know that's how you feel about the money, though... for once they smell blood and easy money, you're dead.

 

If you find a guy that you really really like, offer him 10-12000 to go back to your hotel with you. Say HABITACION and show ten fingers if you have to. They'll stay two-three hours, you end up paying them 15000. And they are so sweet and willing and hot... I'm jealous of you already.

An afterthought, you may want to understand why i'm pressing the point about paying no more than etc.

The guys talk to each other... you pay one too much for too little and fifteen minutes later the whole place knows. Secondly, 5000 is the tourist price already. The locals pay far less.

I visited the Sauna Adan during my stay. Plenty of young good-looking hustlers - not many seemed to speak English. They weren't too pushy. I was approached by a young guy and we managed to communicate in French. We went to a cabin where he gave me a blow job - fairly quick but not rushed. He charged 5000 pesetas - would have done more but I wasn't really in the mood.
