Just something that crossed my mind...

Are there clients that will see that someone has a relatively high number of reviews and the number of reviews, in and of itself, is a turnoff? or makes you think twice about hiring them?

Not something that would influence my thoughts but wondered if it matters to anyone else.

Years ago, before I discovered the old HooBoy's site, I had several bad exeriences with escorts. I then only hired escorts who've been reviewed, regardless of how attractive, or if they were porn stars I lusted after for years.

That really worked for me. Only once did I have an experience with an escort who'd been reviewed positively that did not work out.

I won't hire an escort without a review. If I see lots of reviews, that really catches my attention. I especially appreciate those reviewers who honestly talk about scams and bad escorts. I resent people who feel the need to attack them.

Sometimes I wonder if we should allow the escort to respond, especially if he makes insulting comments about the reviewer. Hey, the client wasn't attractive? Well, you just ripped him off! Too often the responses try to indimidate the reviewer. The reviews are for the clients, not the escorts.

Factual reviews of bad escorts or bad experiences are valuable. A good review should give some insight into why the experience was a rip-off or a failure, if it was. For me, the primary value of a review is not in telling me whether the reviewer had a good time (except for the sometime pornographic entertainment value) but rather in helping me make a judgment as to whether *I am likely to have a good time with the escort. But occasionally there are review-like comments posted that really seem little more than personal attacks.

I think those escort responses which attack the client usually reveal more about the escort than the client. I've seen responses which were more damaging than the review they tried to refute. Sometimes the right to refute just gives a guy more rope to hang himself with.

I'm more bugged by the fact that it takes ages to get a review posted on here and yet we see guys with 20, 30, 40 or more reviews while new talent goes ignored. How often can we read about the same guys? Unless there is a significant change in an escorts service, appearance, etc, i'm for limiting the number of reviews so there can also be a focus on new action

dfw...To answer your question, I recently asked a well known and Reviewed Guy in NYC AFTER the fact about a Review.

He said "No Thanks" I have 15 already..They are all Very Good so everyone knows I'm a Nice guy, with a Big Dick! So HOW MANY TIMES do people want to read that over and over? Multiply my Reviews by all the Clients I see that I have "Not been Reviewed" by and some might wonder why my dick hasn't fallen off yet! HaHa

IF I Bottomed they probably would think my Hole was as BIG as the Holland Tunnel and would be afraid of Falling in! HaHa

"So other than probably the Big Ego Guys or Clients who like to relive their experience on Daddys, Personally I think Newbies are best served by Review's". I do agree to his thinking and why he is so popular in NYC! ;-)

Interesting question. For me, too many reviews can, and has in the past been a factor in my NOT hiring a particular escort. That said, I would probably take an escort with too many reviews over an escort with none.

Also, I can be turned off by escorts who, in my perception, are "too commercial". It takes away from the mystique, intimacy and personal experience I am looking for and can feel too much like a business transaction and less like an exciting encounter. Similar to guys who don't like to discuss money; they prefer to just leave it on the table in an envelope and forget about it.

I recently submitted two reviews to this site (look for them in 2010...just kidding!), both for guys who I was not able to find past reviews for. For my part, I will try to submit reviews only for guys I've seen that have not been reviewed before or have only a few.

There's a lot of great guys out there who we've all seen the ads for and may have even hired, but they never get reviewed, hence all the "411..." posts.

str8 Exactly..The "411 Questions & Answers" seem to be coming in handy and definitely helpful "more than ever" around here the past Year!

As you said there are I know at least in NYC, some "Hunky Newbies" who definitely deserve discussion. The Notion that any Type Review belongs in the "Review Section Only" really has become counter productive to us Inquiring Minds!

Also it does not make for a very interesting "Deli Forum" When the same 5 Working Guy Names Pop Up continuously! LOL

PLUS there are quite a few Reader's of DADDYS who donot bother going to the Reviews on any kind of Daily Basis and certainly not to beside's reading Same-O-Same-O He was Grand and Worth every Buck.. Never mind reading it for the 500th Time! There are a few Names I stopped reading Reviews on 2 Year's ago! "Over-Exposure" is definitely alive and well around here!

I don't see hom too many reviews can hurt. Do we imagine that the guy we are hiring is a virgin? I like escorts with lots of experience- it shows that they know what they are doing and are obviously doing it well enough to please multitudes of customers.

Escorts posting here have occasionally given me a reason to lose interest in them, but, having said that, I sure miss the cogent posts by Juan Vancouver. He set the bar very high.

Lucky... Very True Juan-Raul-Rick-Small Town John and others have definitely always contributed to this site in a Positive and knowledgeable-Serious & also Fun way.

Always something that is interesting and informative to say from these type of "Working Guys" and their Personal Opinions.

BUT the Few that contribute in a way where as to "sound like" a CLIENT themselves, when we know they just by their "Profession" are not going to "Spend for Sex" or have the "Real Client Perspective" but just comment to get ADS Up, I find kind of insulting to MY and Others intelligence.

Although by now we Old Timer's all know who they are anyways! So I guess once again I wasted a small amount of BANDWITH! ;-)

It depends on the escort. I have wanted to hire Tristan Waters for years, and finally did recently. I did read a few of his most recent reviews, but he was already a must-see escort for me.

If I am somewhat undecided after reading several reviews, fifty more positive reviews are probably not going to change my mind.

Escorts who seldom participate in this forum, but constantly post their travel plans over many years would have a lower priority for me, no matter how good their reviews. Remember that's just one person's opinion.

I had the experience of hiring a popular escort on this board who has pages and pages of glowing reviews with not a bad word said about him. My experience with him was barely 'just OK'. But because of all the extravagant praise heaped upon him, my expectations were so high that I considered my so-so meeting with him one of the most disappointing hiring experiences I ever had. I was/am afraid and ashamed to write the sole dissenting review of him. I felt so low after the experience I vowed never to hire again.

The good news is I broke my vow a few weeks later with an un-reviewed porn god (who has since left the country and the biz) and had a GREAT time!

I think you've hit the nail on the head. It's not unlike being disappointed by a movie that's been extravagantly praised by all your friends -- had your expectations not been raised, you might well have enjoyed it.

For that reason, I tend to be a little wary of escorts who've been around for a long time with legions of loyal followers and glowing reviews. I recognize this has more to do with my expectations than with any "objective" standard (which, of course, doesn't really exist).

Off the top of my head, I can think of four I have hired. One (the first) was a disaster -- even by that non-existent objective standard. (I was too new at this and intimidated by his other reviews to post a negative one; now that I'm a little more seasoned, I wouldn't hesitate.)

Another was fine, but nothing special. I won't see him again. I liked the third and saw him again when he passed through town. The fourth was the best of the lot, and I've seen him more than once as well.

Coincidentally (or maybe not?), the first three were all traveling escorts. My experience with traveling escorts in general has been less than ideal; "see them at home" has become my mantra.

new..We all have experienced the same Scenario as you have. As they say you are not alone. BUT I do notice that the days of the "Extravagant Praisers" has also come and gone around here mostly!

It could be because most of the Fan Clubs no longer exist and not called on for "support"..Literally! HaHa

That may be due to the ever increasing and interesting Newbie Competition as compared to the same old Pix's and Ads used by alot of the "Seasoned" Working Guys?

As far as those who say they would be content with someone who literally does everyone Around The World and someone learning about doing everyone Around The World, I find the latter much more interesting and much less Jaded as they say. LOL ;-)

I would be wary of hiring an escort who has many reviews but none that are recent and most that are by first-time reviewers (which for me is close to a synonym for self-reviewed). After all, when somebody has accumulated many reviews but none of them are recent, one naturally wonders why the stream of reviews stopped.....

I have on a few occasions submitted a second review of an escort when I saw him several years after the first time, with the idea that it might be informative to others whether the experience has changed. Is a guy keeping up his body? Has a guy who is an experienced escort become jaded, or acquired nasty habits that show themselves during the session? Reviewing escorts is a consumer service, right, not just a way to live the experience or boast about what a fantastic time the reviewer has had. Recent comment is therefore welcome, even on escorts who have been reviewed many times.
