The review aspects of this site seem to be strange!!!

The 54th review of BN--wow isn't that exciting and informative--If that is the best selection available for this site on a Saturday morning then this site is not getting anywhere close to the number of reviews that it did when Hooboy was around--the small number of reviews that are posted likewise seems to support that the review aspects of this site are of no interest to those managing the site.

 

Why not change the name to Daddy's chat room?

What is your solution to the problem? Would you have daddy make up reviews just so you have something to read? Would you have him enhance the short reviews that don't say much, adding more titillating details? Would you have him distribute souvenir towels to members who contribute more reviews? How many reviews have you contributed?

 

I don't rely on the reviews as much as others do since I can't afford to hire 3 guys in a month not to mention in a night. I do rely on the message center for entertainment, and it rarely lets me down. That's why KMEM's "review" was so much fun. When will fosterchow toss us another hot story?

Several folks have commented in other threads that their attempts to submit reviews have been unsuccessful. It could be that mechanical problems with the site's review-submission function have kept the number down.

The "other" site averages one or fewer reviews per day and the quality seems just as variable. OTOH, its message boards don't seem very active.

 

It would be helpful if Daddy responded regarding the difficulties people have had with reviews not being posted. Also helpful would be some idea how assertive people have been in following up on unposted reviews. When I've submitted, the lag between submission and posting has varied, but there clearly was communication to verify that the review came from a legit person.

Daddy will not respond to review issues in the MC. Write to daddy@daddysreviews.com. I believe Pierrot was the last to do so, and he got a public THANK YOU from Daddy for providing enough information to track down the issue.

 

Many people over the years (including during Hooboy's tenure) have been very accusatory about reviews that do not get posted. They never have any proof. It's an easy accusation to make and it's impossible for the operator to refute. Another message center even opened an entire section just for people to post the volumes of reviews that never got posted. It never had a post. Not one.

 

There are reviews that are successfully submitted every day. Once we get past operator error, Daddy is more than happy to dig into real issues when they are communicated to him.

There are more reviews daily, on this site than any other site, and the navigation is better than three or four others that I am aware of. The on Canadian site isn't too bad, but it is only for escorts that advertise on that site. So its nice that Daddy is independant.

Many more reviews have been submitted than posted, if the lag time between submitting a review and when it is posted is any indication. Reviews being posted now are for encounters in April. Lack of timeliness detracts from the usefulness of reviews.

DEEJ--you would know better than any of us, why has the review aspect of the site changed so since Hooboy's days--not only the number of reviews being posted is down big time but the type of escort who's reviews are getting posted is much different--average age much older, many more heavily muscled, tatoos etc--the clean cut young man almost doesn't exist anymore--has the "viewing audience" changed significantly? If so, is this just the change of times or have enough of the twink lovers moved to MER which has made this site a senior citizen center??? you have observed the transition your explanation would be appreciated---i doubt that you will say that things are no different, but am interested in how you explain the differences. This one is pretty easy. Hooboy died. The site moved. Daddy still routinely gets email saying "oh, so THAT's where you went!" or "I'm glad I finally found you again!"

 

It's really quite amazing that the site's traffic is pretty much back to the old days without any advertising at all, all things considered.

Not really. The posting rate is more regular, but the overall numbers are almost back to the pre-shutdown rate. If you count the number of days lost when Hooboy dropped/dunked/spilled on/rolled or otherwise trashed his notebook, couldn't connect to the internet from one banana republic or another, etc., the total number of reviews is pretty much the same.

 

As for content, Daddy can only publish what is submitted. He doesn't write them himself. If you'd like to see different content, get out there and hire guys and write some reviews! It'll be fun! You'll see! ;-)

I took a glance through recent reviews on this site and there still seem to be plenty of "twinks": Tylor from Detroit, Chris from Kansas City, etc. So, I think you need to do a bit more research.... As for senior citizens, one could argue that they are the biggest fans of twinks. When I lived in Bangkok, it seemed that the older the tourist, the younger the barboy. A quick glance through the twinky reviews seems to suggest the there's plenty "senior citizens" hiring twinks here and on the other site.

 

I've been researching escorts for upcoming travel and it's clear that if one combines this site with the other one, the total, non-overlapping reviews aren't what they were in the heyday of this site. If one look at the bulletin board posters, this site seems to have more "new people" than the other one. The quality of the reviews on both sites is pretty variable. I don't think the escort advertisement sites have picked up any of the reviewing slack. If anything, there seems to be a smaller proportion of escorts on the advertising sites who have reviews than was the case a year or two ago and the reviews still tend to be pretty minimal.

 

If you want to stimulate discussion of twinks, then stimulate discussion about twinks and submit reviews. But lazy complaints just seem like the bitterness that people periodically complain about.

Well, after posting my suggestion above, I got home and found a gift from Daddy in my inbox. He says I can't use it to block the toilets though, as the Hooville septic system can't handle it and Benjamin is not on call!
