Guy,

I guess it depends on whether you think obeying all laws is one of the obligations of citizenship. What I had in mind when I wrote the above is the affirmative obligations, such as paying taxes (which escorts do NOT have deducted from their compensation), serving on juries, serving in the military, and a few others. I wasn't thinking of the negative obligations, by which I mean NOT doing things that are prohibited, such as prostitution. But they can also be considered obligations of citizenship, and your question is a valid one. What's your answer? Do people who think abortion is the same as murder, for example, have an obligation NOT to block the entrances to clinics, since they have lost the debate on this issue?

Blocking someone else's access to a clinic is infringing on another's right, so I don't think that's okay. For those with an anti-choice viewpoint, speaking, writing articles, etc, etc on how "wrong" abortion is valid and doesn't interfere with anyone else's rights.

I certainly don't think that one needs to abide by all laws set down, or I wouldn't hire escorts. I was responding to what I perceived as an implication that the minority should ALWAYS abide by the majority's expressed wishes. That's something I cannot agree with, even though I understand the need to have laws in place, particularly those designed to protect people from being harmed by others.

Using credit cards enables you to prove fairly easily that you paid for things. It also helps show that somehow you acquired an income to pay your credit card bills.

When it appears that all your income is not being reported, auditors may make the assumption that anything that you paid for must have been bought with income, and anything that appears in your bank account, must be the result of income. Your credit card purchases may help them guess at your actual income. So if your aim is to commit fraud and hide your income, don't use credit cards.

Auditors spend most of their time checking that your expenses are deductible and paid.

I haven't been around much lately as I have been in rehearsals for two plays, one each at two theaters. And then last weekend I flew for a couple of days in Raleigh, NC, to help in my big sister's funeral. I am looking tonight at a couple of days very nearly off, though not quite, a situation I haven't had in almost three weeks and I am very tired. Nor have I read any of the postings in the Attack on America section. So I feel at a loss and will leave this discussion with Reggie in your quite capable hands for now. However, I must point out that my discussion with him has been ongoing for quite some time and my posts above were posted before the terrorism. For me to change my views because of them would be to sell out the people who were killed by allowing the terrorists to force me to change. However, by the same light, since our conversation has a history before the events, it seems to me that it still belongs here, with no intentional impugning (I know you didn't, Reg, but I am tired) of either side's patriotism. I am glad to see that Reg hasn't changed, but I also thank you, GuyinSF (hope I got the name right) for taking up my usual position, or close to it.

After reading this whole thread, I got the impression that 'dannycruz' was trying to bait some people into admitting that they cheat on their tazes and/or don't report their income. Did anyone else get that impression or am I just too suspicious?

Now Mr. Nick, are you sure you are not baiting us into trashing another escort that doesn't catch your fancy? You haven't the slightest evidence to suggest any ulterior motive by this escort, but here you go again....

yeah there IS the slightest evidence.

people were very clear in their comments to danny, and each time, he came back with a pat response that was basically: so are you saying that to evade payment of federal taxes you do A, B, and C???

Dear Mr. Smart Ass,

This had nothing to with the person involved being an escort. As Ethan so deftly pointed out below,

each time, he came back with a pat response that was basically: so are you saying that to evade payment of federal taxes you do A, B, and C???

Perhaps if you'd reread the thread, this might occur to you as well. I do not know dannycruz. I have not heard anything to suggest that he is a dishonest person or conducts his escorting in a questionable manner or that he has ripped clients off. His responses struck me as odd, and apparently I am not the only one.

I think is a sincere question about taxes. Something many escorts don't consider.

It may be a sincere question, but is asking such a question in this public forum very wise? Pay taxes on an illegal income?

Can you be audited, if according to the government, you have zero

income? Can you be audited if you pay cash for everything? Can you be audited if your bank accts. aren't under your name or

Social Security #? Can you be audited if there is no paper trail showing you've spent 1 cent on anything. What if your apartment

isn't in your name and someone else pays your rent? What if you car isn't in your name? Where would the government start auditing

a person who basically doesn't exist?

I thought Danny's questions and responses were odd also, maybe I'm just paranoid.

While we may be just picking up on each other's paranoia, you might notice that I did try to only ask questions in my response.

Also, not to insult anyone intentionally, did the timing of this strike you as odd? It was around 20 days after the filing due date for those who apply for automatic extensions, so perhaps that prompted him. However, it would seem less out of left field to me if the subject of taxes suddenly occurred to a first year escort who seems a little naive about them in like March, or early April.
