Dupont Circle

I am sure you were hoping clients would read this post and respond, but from a traveling escort perspective, I would offer the following pieces of advice:

You are near enough Dupont Circle on Mass and NW 15th that it would be convenient for you to see clients, have clients come to you (depending on the hotel) and also enjoy some nightlife in D.C. From your past posts, I know you like to go out and work out when you are traveling, so as far as that goes, you will be about as well situated location wise as you can be.

Washington also has great public transportation, so you would be near enough the monuments and other touristy places. If you have never gone before and are not sure you may travel again, I would plan on 1-2 days more to see some of the sights. In 4 trip to D.C., I never got to see everything I would have wanted to see, even allowing for plenty of downtime. Since I never saw more than two clients in a day, it worked out fine, but still, was not doable.

Some other, unsolicited comments:

D.C. was not a big city for overnights, for myself or for other escorts I knew, other than for fellow tourists and a few, rare exceptions.

You will get far more inquiries than actual clients. I would advertise in Eclipse on the Washington Blade, especially with a photo, with precise dates. Guys check the advertisements on line and you will get calls from the instant the on line ads hit. For whatever reason, while a lot of men are on line, they tend to do this at work and are not on line at nights, at home. So expect a lot of phone calls, a lot of inquiries and plans on being on the go a lot. This is one thing that made it hard for me to book tourist plans, since so few clients actually wanted to make firm appointments unless you did so in that exact instance.

Finally, I can guess at the hotel you are likely looking at. Washington D.C. is a good city to try a Priceline bid on. I stayed in four star hotels every trip I went, but one day as part of one trip, when a client changed an overnight on me and wanted a hotel room, and another time, when I purposely bid on 3 stars because I did not want to pay more than $100 a night. Several years ago, hotels were inexpensive. That has changed. So unless you are really happy with the rate, I would consider Priceline.

Most Dupont Circle and adjacent area hotels have high speed internet access, so that should not be your deciding factor. In four trips and six hotels, I never had a problem having 24/7 high speed access in D.C.

By the way, you want to avoid the monument, White House, and Convention Center areas because there are few places to eat at night and they are also dead on the weekends.

Good luck.

RE: Dupont Circle

DuPont Circle in case you don't know is at Mass and 20th, so you're about 5 blocks away which is manageable. Like everywhere else hotel rates have escalated this year, but DC is still affordable on weekends, it can be pricey midweek. Check the priceline advice and see what happens. The Embassy Row Hilton most rooms are good; the Westin Embassy row- rooms tend to be small and heat regulation can be a problem are probably the two closest to DuPont. Doubletree, Marriott, Wyndham, Best Western, all have properties, sometimes multiple properties in the area. As mentioned above though, as long as you are convenient to a metro station you are convenient to get to, or to get yourself somewhere in DC.

RE: Dupont Circle

I go to DC frequently for fun and have found that my best hotels are ones that are close to a Metro station. Go to http://www.metroopensdoors.com and you can pull up and print a metro station locator map and from that start your hotel selection.

I personally have stayed several times at the Grand Hyatt at Metro Center (perfect location & beautiful hotel)and the Radisson at Dupont Circle, however it recently changed ownership is currently closed for renovations till June '06. My next trip to DC in a two weeks, I will be staying at the Jury's Hotel on Dupont Circle, I got a good rate ($109/night) and it is sitting right on the circle.

RE: Dupont Circle

A number of great guys who pass through Washington, DC have adopted a place called the Carlyle Suites ( http://www.carlylesuites.com/ ) as their #### home away from home.

It's a good location, close to the Metro and 17th Street eateries. I think many, if not all, the rooms have kitchenettes, so you can make some of your own meals there. I know the bodybuilders like that because it suits their special dietary requirements. They were offering internet rates of $139-159.

Happy hunting.
