The truth of the matter. He's just starting out and has been only meeting clients randomly. He's really screwed financially at the moment and doesnt have money for advertising at the moment (hence M4R) and can't even afford AOL at this point.

 

He's a hottie but he just had no clue what to do to get business and standing on a street corner is not his thing. I offered to help. Since I'm already "accused" of fraudulent reviews I figured posting a fake review would be bad so I figured I'd introduce him here.

 

Why am I doing it instead of him? If you take a look at the posts even lately this is STILL a shark tank. I just wanted to make sure you guys don't scare him off because reading some of these posts in here would definitely not make me feel welcome if I were considering joing the boards

Was he standing on a street corner when you meet him? Be careful Scott, it almost sounds like you are admitting to writing your own reviews.

The message center isn't the business. The message center is people talking about it, sometimes quite meanly. I don't want that to be his first "exposure." Crawl before you walk and what not. As above, until you learn how to cope with rumors and mean spirited people, you shouldn't have to deal with them.

There are dozens of free sites he could list on. Many of which give you a personal page that is very easily linked to. You should know this shouldn't you?

A quick scan through RentBoy -- which almost always lists the most expensive escorts in any town -- shows lots of escorts available at $200. Far more list their rate as "varies". Wonder why?

 

Because, in many cases, they're open to negotiation. Many of them are available at $200. If you move away from Rentboy to G4R, M4RN, etc., it's incredibly easy to find fun, great-looking, enthusiastic escorts in LA for $200 or often $175 -- without any negotiation at all. That's just what their rates are.

 

Surprisingly, though, over the years, I've met more great guys from the LA AOL chatrooms than from any other place. The guys there are usually very part-time escorts who simply want a few clients to see to supplement their income.

 

I still get together with a couple of guys I met through AOL over five years ago. They don't escort anymore, except with the random long-term client. Both are great guys, blond blue-eyed surfer types who are bright, interesting and fun and on their way in other careers. I'd never have had the opportunity to meet them had I not looked at the AOL chatrooms.

Scott-$250 is NOT the going rate in LA.It may be what you charge(outside of the "Scott Adler Experience")but the "going rate"is somewhere between $100-$200.

I can appriciate you trying to "raise the bar"as it were for yourself and your friends,but if a guy is having problems paying rent or making ends meet than $150 cash in hand is nothing to sneeze at.

I know that some sites copy escort ads and pics from

other sites without permission--but to copy, they have

to get the pics and text from somewhere to begin with.

 

Somehow, several sites have run ads for you.

They didn't all have the exact same pics or text.

First actually I think it is a good business decision to have an established and respected escort open the door for another escort coming into the business. Given Scott's current address is New York, it may give some of his current clients an alternative until he returns. Mr. Adler has something to lose if Mr. Scott turns out to not have what it takes given his recommendation.

 

Second as to what to charge coming into the market place, I had this same conversation with another escort a while back who recently retired. He said he and his friend (another established escort) discussed what to charge and they came up with $200-250 range because it made the one hour appointments worthwhile while always willing to modify (negotiate) the rate per hour lower for longer appointments. Given there approach was to try to have only one session per day.

I agree with Bigguy. $250 is a bit much for a newbie to charge. If people hire him for that amount amount though, then more power to him.

They either wrote it themselves or copied it and altered it for themselves. As for pictures, mostly it's not too difficult to copy and paste them from the net. There have also -- this is just my assumption, can't prove one way or another -- been pic collectors who solicit me off of here and get more pictures then post the ads themselves.
