Did some reviews disappear?

I'm wondering if Hooboy sometimes removes reviews. I know I had read reviews of Michel or Joybringer under Paris at some point, but now I no longer see his reviews. Anyone know why they were removed?

Apparently he does. I have been noticing occasional disappearances that from time to time for a long time, but now there is a fairly large number that seems to have disappeared just in the last 4-6 weeks.

 

At one time Hooboy explained that when a guy retires or goes inactive his reviews normally stay up as part of the historical record, but that Hooboy will take the pic down if the guy asks for that, although sometimes when a guy retires or is forced to retire there are reasons why the guy needs to have his entire entry including the reviews removed. Apparently that policy has changed and a lot more entries are being deleted from the site now.

 

I really don't understand why that should be. It doesn't seem that it would be a privacy or embarrassment issue, since, by policy, the reviews don't contain any identifying personal information. And so, if there isn't a pic with a face or something like a telltale tattoo, or especially if the guy's pic is gone altogether, there is no way to connect somebody's old reviews with that person in his new post-escorting life. And it *is* nice to be able to go back and savor some hot guy again even after he has retired. But I don't make the rules.

This has been discussed recently but I'm too lazy this morning to find and link the thread. Here's a summary...

 

- Over the past 6 months, Hoo has attempted to contact every escort with reviews here. The intent has been to verify the escort is still working and to update information.

 

- If successful, you will see a "Verification" section at the top of the escort's review page.

 

- If all efforts to contact the escort have failed, he is delisted. His reviews still remain in the database but the link to those reviews in the Country/State/City index is removed.

 

- If the escort returns or contacts Hoo with current contact info, he is relisted.

Hello Barry. Is there a way to search the Database for past escorts? I've searched through alln nooks of this web site and I cab't find it. The Search option available is only for items within the folders in the Message Center and none for Escort Reviews. Thanks.

It sounds like you're using the Message Center's search tool. Understandably, that only searches the Message Center.

 

There is another search tool. Look up above the white area of the screen to the brown area with the site's logo. It has links for "newest reviews", etc. The last link is "Search", which will give you the option of searching the entire internet or just this site.

 

Anyone that's ever been reviewed will likely pop up.

I see only NEWEST REVIEWS, ESCORT REVIEWS, SUBMIT A REVIEW, M4M FAQ, MESSAGE CENTER, HOOBOY SHOPS, BRIEFS, POPPERS & TOYS, VIDEO STORE, FLIRT 4 FREE, XXX STREAMING MOVIES, 15 MINUTES, SAFE SEX INFO, HOOBOY'S DISCOUNT TRAVEL, BANNERS, SPONSOR AN ESCORT and NO SHOW ESCORT. Could it be possible that the Search option is available only to Moderators like you?

No, that's a video resolution problem.

 

If you're running Windows, you probably have large fonts turned on. (I've complained about this before ... it makes the whole bottom row of that top frame disappear.)

IE's "text size" setting is destructivley useful. ;-)

 

You can change it accidentally just by holding CTRL when you scroll the mouse wheel, but nobody knows that. And most people have no idea where to go to get it back the way it used to be.
