I was in Reykjavik, Iceland in June of 2003. Interesting place, but for the most part I found it pretty dull for gay life. The Spotlight is the main bar and disco in the city. Escorts are not known at all. Iceland is a socialist country and the boys have a high standard of living. I placed an add on a gay Iceland web site. Found one boy, 18 years old who was interested. The age of consent is 14 years old for gay sex. Pretty liberal I must say, good luck in finding one willing to go with you. It is also a very expensive country, prices about the same as London or more. Check out the tourist center in the city center. They have all the info. on gay spots. Also check out Gay Iceland on the Google search. In summer it is daylight 24 hours a day. In winter they only have six hours of daylight. Buy a transit pass to ride the bus, taxi cabs can run into lots of money. Most of the big hotels, Nordica and Grand Hotel Reykjavik are on the out skirts of the city. Take some escorted tours and be sure to visit the Blue Lagoon, the mens locker room is full of beautiful Nordic men. Most people speak English, the main language is Icelandic and Danish. The western part of the island is in North America and the eastern half in Europe, with two time zones. Many Americans there as well. The USA has Naval and Air Force bases on the northern end. The Icelanders are big on maintaining their ethnic purity as they call it. They are not fond of U.S. military men mixing with the young women either.

>I'm heading to Iceland for a mini-vacation...out of the way

>spot but sounds great. But, how about escorts? Clubs, etc?

>Any leads? Thanks.

Rumour has it that the Igloo Bar & Grill is wild on Thursday nights. And those parka's come flying off with wild abandon when the locals strip on the bar.

Seriously though - it would be facinating to hear about gay life and escorts in Iceland. Don't forget to give us a full report.

It is worth remembering that Reykjavik has fewer people than Huntsville, Alabama, and the entire country is about the population size of Cumberland County, Maine. If you check the escort resources for those places, it will give you some idea why there aren't a lot of professional escorts in Iceland.
