Hello everyone... I'm a new escort in Minneapolis, and I'd like to introduce

myself: My name's Lu and, well, today's a big day for me as I just got my

first Review posted and WOW.. I'm still a little overwhelmed by all of this.

It's a whole 'nother world for me, and I'm loving every bit of it... the

great people I've met, the amazing times we've shared. I want everyone to

know that I'll always give 120% to exceed your expectations about me :)

I'm happy to be part of this site/world, and look forward to great times ahead!

Howdy Lu and welcome to the 'brotherhood' :)

My main advice for you as a newbie to the world of escorting is to invest in a set of great images. There's nothing worse than a good-looking guy who comes across as somewhat shabby because of bad pics. Find a photographer that you'll feel comfortable with and who might be willing to work on a trade-out basis. There is some serious undiscovered photo talent out there looking for cute guys to fill their budding portfolio with.

Along with that, also make sure to take good care of your body, eat smart and always remember that this is an image-based industry. Keep your nose clean if you can (in more ways than one) and use this site as your 'escort bible.' It can be an incredibly fun place to learn things and the guys who post here on the MC are amazingly knowlegeble on more than just escorting...

Ah, one more thing: Keep out of the fray when things get heated up around here. It's always best to be on the outskirts of a riot, rather than in the eye.

Warmest Always,

Hey Benjamin, thanks for taking the time to give your advice. Awesome job with your site; it's very clean and professional.

Best,

"he is everything and more that his first review states."

Are you getting a little carried away here? If this guy is MORE than the first review states, why then he must be the reincarnation of Buddha, Goliath, and David!

Read his review. Then try to imagine how he could be better than that!

BTW, welcome Lu. You seem like a very nice guy.:)

Welcome, Lu.

And do not let bastards get you down. Ignore the people you find offensive and disrepectful, because they will never change their opinions and you'll just be pissing in the wind.

I hope you can share you knowledge with us here without getting raked over the coals by Bitter - Party of one.

Welcome, Lu. I would agree with Benjamin that it's a great idea to connect with up-and-coming photographers and get some nice, high-quality images. I'd also suggest getting a digital camera, if you don't already have one, and keeping it handy so that you can update your pics more often than you and your photographer's schedules are in sync. There's something to be said for a mix of both professional and more amateurish looking shots; it can reassure people that what they're seeing is real and up-to-date. (This is kind of a tangent, but I once met a porn casting director who told me that when models send him professional photos, he throws them away, gives the model a disposable camera, and tells him to shoot the roll and bring it back undeveloped. He says he can tell a lot more about a model from a bad pic than a beautifully lit, highly polished professional one.)

Nearly anyone who's ever been on gay.com knows what it's like to be lured by someone's hot photo that was taken eight months ago, only to find out when they show up that they JUST started going back to the gym last week after a seven-and-a-half month layoff. That sucks when it happens in any context, but it's even worse when it happens to a paying customer. Updating your pics frequently will reassure potential clients that the person they meet looks at least as good as the guy in the photograph, and having your own camera handy is the easiest way to do that.

Of course, if you need or prefer to continue your policy of not showing your face online, it can be a little harder to come up with new and interesting "decapitated" shots. I highly recommend taking one from an overhead angle like this:

Baseball caps, downward gazes and shadowy lighting can help for pics where whatever pose you're striking precludes cropping off the head.

By the way, although it's inevitable that you'll miss out on some potential customers by not posting face shots, I know a "headless escort" (lol) who says not showing his face helps him attract customers who are extra, EXTRA concerned about discretion -- and he's still charging $300/hr, even in this economy. So if you can't show your face, you may as well talk that fact up; make a virtue out of that necessity in your marketing. Many clients who need at least as much discretion in their lives as you do will appreciate and respond to that.

Oh, and get a website. No need to have a professional "webmaster" design it and do all your updates for you. I did mine myself using incredibly simple free software that my web hosting service provided. I can make changes any time I want, at a moment's notice. Your own website is the place where you can best define yourself to your audience, in a way that the blurbs on the advertising sites can't.

Good luck. Respect yourself and your clients and you'll do fine.

Good advice. I've got the eye covered, anyway. The rest of you boys can just secure the perimeter. :+

Great comments/tips for Lu by all the usual suspects ;-)

I do have to say that, having seen several of Lu's pics myself -- all with a face, this guy is awesome looking. Not just a great bod, but a really handsome guy. He would get more inquiries if he had a face pic out there on the www, but don't pass him up just because you can't initially see all of him. He'll share the rest with you when you contact him, and you'll be glad that you took the chance :9

Lu: If you ever plan to travel out to Los Angeles, be sure to post your plans in the Escort Travel section so that we know you're coming.
