Today's reviews contain a response from Marcus (of Marcus and Bob)about the use of credit cards to make an appointment. This is the first time I have ever heard of this and I have been hiring escorts for over 20 years. He said it was their "standard operating procedure" to require a credit card number over the phone to make a deposit "to separate the men from the ...wankers". In this case the client had a problem with his credit card going through and, as a result, his appointment was not honoured and he was turned away at the door (there is some debate about other details of the booking arrangements that were made).

My question is whether this is a common procedure for a one hour appointment (or even 2 or 3 hours) and whether this shouldn't be specified in the escort's promotional ads. In this case I reviewed Marcus's previous reviews on this site and not one mentionned this deposit requirement. I then went to his web site and it states that credit cards are accepted; this is a lot different than "required".

Personally, I would never give a credit card number to an escort, even ones that I see frequently, given the problems of identity theft these days. If my cash isn't good enough, I just move on to the next.:7

The first time I met Marcus two years ago I was arranging an appointment of several hours duration -- a month in advance. At the time, I was requested to give a deposit by card credit to reserve the date and time. The deposit was equal to the charge of an hour appointment.

I was very interested in meeting Marcus, but only after several emails and a phone call did I feel comfortable enough to give him my credit card number. This is the only time I've ever paid any part of the fee in advance, which is something I normally would not do. And if this was a requirement for an appointment, I would most likely move on. HOWEVER, there are exceptions to almost every rule. With Marcus, I felt completely comfortable in doing so and the charge appeared very discretely on my credit card bill. I've seen Marcus probably 4 times (and Bob twice) in the past two years and I was only asked to make a deposit for that first appointment. As Marcus says, it is his (and Bob's) way of separating the serious clients from the game players. Whether or not this is a requirement for single hour appointments, I don't know as I've only seen them for multiple hour appointments. But if you're truly interested in finding out, the best source of information would be Marcus. He is very forth coming.

He is probably also the most attentive person that I've been with...he is COMPLETELY focused on his clients' pleasure, as is Bob.
