Paris info please

I have posted a request under European Escorts but have had no info yet. Can anyone share info on the Paris scene. I have been there many times before but find it hard to find guys. Is there a magazine or site (other than Rentboy) where there are good postings. Is there a gay bar mag which carries ads like HX, QC, etc??? Where is the action in the city of love???? It is hard to find.

Le Marais is turning into the Castro area of Paris. Just walk around the streets in the evening with your eyes open and you'll find some obvious bars and bookstores.

I had the good furtune to be "stuck" in Paris just after September 11. Paris is a more difficult city than Berlin, Barcelona or Amsterdam. However, Le Marais is wonderful, especially the later the night gets. Having spent those 10 days there recently, I can understand the relative lack of response to your posting. The escort scene is not easy to understand in Paris, at least not for me. But, check out the Marais!!!

I know the Marais very well, and yes, there can be some moments of excitement on the streets. But I would prefer to have some current escort ads. Surely, there is somewhere the guys advertise?

I have given a lot of thought to your posting, since I plan to go back to Paris soon. It is my favorite city in Europe. We both must be missing something. The escort section on this site is more informative about Paris than Berlin. Yet, anyone can get tons of information about Berlin escorts everywhere in the Schoneberg section

of the city. Perhaps my French is not good enough to really make contact with the locals in Paris. I know there was a big hustler scene in the Jardin des Tuileries in the past (day and night). That scene must have moved to Le Marais somewhere. There are enough book stores and bars in Le Marais to get the answer from someone, but it would be great to get the answer on this site. Unfortunately, it does not exist. It is illegal to advertise gay or straight escorts in Paris. What they do have are "clubs de rencontres" or "dating services" that are really rescort agencies. You have to go to the agency, register, look through a book and choose. All in all, too much trouble and expense. When I lived in Paris from 96-00, I just imorted ed from People in Amsterdam. I think it was much cheaper and more pleasing. If you want to take your chance at Queen on a Saturday night or in Le Marais, I would suggest practicing your French or getting one of the boys on rent boy to show you around. The best time I ever had was with a French guy I foundon the rent boy chat room. He came to my hotel and was insatiable, but after that he wanted to get paid. Tant pis!

That pretty much sums up the Paris scene I know, and it might explain why there are no escort ads in gay bar guides. Paris is one of the most sexy cities without being sexual. There is so little really going on there in the conveniental sense such as London, NYC, Sydney, Montreal, etc. Frankly, Paris is a great dissappointment and this posting only confirms it. To hang out in he sleeze bars on St Denis Street, or similar locations is not my cut of tea. But the Marais can be very cruisy, if you know where and whwn to hang out.
