There is a whatever happened to web site, self-reported by fans, which primarily deals with straight porn stars but does include a site on gay male porn stars, Matt Gunther, Steve Fox, Joey Stefano, etc. Unfortunately, I lost my bookmarks in a hard drive crash but an advance search for "dead porn stars" should get you there. I think the men who were there on film -- or video tape -- when you were forming your sexual identity -- tend to sear you for life. I remember Matt Ramsey, Eric Stryker, Bill Henson and men from the mid 80s when I was in High School and College quite vividly to this day. The guys in videos now just strike me as being much too young for my personal perference.

As for Michael Brawn: I had the pleasure of directing him in a XXX flick called "Going Down In Style" back in the 90's. He was the best: handsome, intelligent, sexy, and masculine.

I think this is the one you mean. There are others out there, but this one is pretty carefully researched. (i.e., they don't report rumors.)

No, the one I meant was the one that Deej found, the "rame" one, which is well known among the straight, San Fernando Valley set. Often, friends and former friends of the adult video performer are the ones who provide the source information as they have maintained contact. It looks like this list posted on a University of Oregon server is dirivitive of that one. For example, Matt Gunther was exposed to the HIV virus when he had his heart attack but no one knows for certain whether he had full-blown AIDS and whether his heart attack was related to that or something else. This site appears incomplete in transferring over some data.

 

Also, I do not see Michael Brawn on the "RAME" list so perhaps he, like Bill Henson and Matt Ramsey, is simply happy and quite retired. The "RAME" site states it was last updated April 14, 2002.

There may also be some confusion here. I've found two different Michael Brawns - one spelled Brawn, one Braun. The one I was thinking of is furry, bearded, brown hair, killer bedroom eyes, and was filming in the late 70's, early 80's - he's the one I believed was deceased in my earlier post. I came across the other one (more hairless...) in looking thru some dvd pages...
