chiguyedge Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Currently visiting Chicago. Anyone with experience with JJinDC? A thread from a few years back includes a personal website, but no insight on the massage itself. Seems like he just recently joined rentmasseur so no reviews there either. Curious if anyone has experience!
Monarchy79 Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I booked a session with him years ago, and had an awful experience. This is definitely a YMMV situation. Cold massage room, and the massage consisted of being on a table with no linens, no use of massage oil, lotion or cream, and spent an hour of unnecessarily painful “trigger point”, “therapy”. There was no chemistry or good vibes from this guy. One of the worse massages I’ve ever had in my entire life.

I ended up taking the plunge yesterday, and unfortunately had a similar experience as you. A lot of the session included trigger point therapy that on the one hand was welcome on my back (where I said I could handle deeper pressure) but painful anywhere else he applied it, which was everywhere. My main frustration was that he made it clear his clients know their bodies best and should speak up if something feels good or bad, but any time I said something didn't feel good or was hurting, he'd reply along the lines of "I know, because you're so tight" and ease up just the teeniest bit. When it ended he said "like many of my clients you may be mad at me for a day, but feel great the following day." It's too early to tell if this will be the case, but it emphasized for me that he feels he knows best what the body needs and not the other way around. On the positive side, we did go 90 minutes and he only charged me for 60 because of "how badly my body needed it," but his rate for 60 minutes is $180. I had thought maybe the higher price point would include some sensual elements, but by the end I was grateful it didn't since his therapeutic massage was so uncomfortable. I suppose for the right client this type of session would be welcome, but I wish I'd spent that $180 elsewhere.
Monarchy79 Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Darn it. I wish I had made my post earlier, as this could have possibly prevented your terrible experience. The good thing is that now, members can see that both of us endured similar experiences, which may help them in making a more informed decision on booking an appointment with this guy. downtowndcguy 1
FLJock Posted July 30 Posted July 30 $180 for 60mins? That alone should have caused pause, unless the reviews (here) were spectacular.

I agree — one of the few times I’ve taken the plunge on a guy with a high price point for 60 mins and should have listened to my gut. That’s on me. downtowndcguy 1
