What piece of technology genuinely changed your daily life for the better?

Not necessarily the most advanced thing. Just something that quietly improved your routine, mindset, creativity, or peace.

For me, it was noise-canceling headphones. I suffer from pretty extreme tinnitus, so having the ability to soften outside noise and create a calmer atmosphere genuinely helped my focus, stress levels, and overall peace of mind.

For me it was the post office.

Once I learned to never give out an email address or phone number for anything (not even for doctors or companies I do business with), my daily life is free from notifications and spam.  I check the mail once per week at the same day and time, and have little stress when I do so.  I have so much less stress now than I did when I was "paperless" and overwhelmed with emails and text notifications.

The microwave oven hands down the most impactful appliance that saved my starving student life in college.  The air fryer is a close second nowadays.  I use both nearly everyday.

I have also gotten to love using an electric kettle.  Took it as a souvenir to remember a friend by when he passed and have learned why he used it so often now!
