Death of a Salesman

I've not been on for awhile, but had to mention that the current Death of a Salesman with Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf at the Winter Garden is the best of the six productions I've seen over the years. Lane is lost from the first scene...he doesn't grow into his instability. Metcalf and Christopher Abbott who plays Biff are both extraordinary. Joe Mantello's direction is spare and very effective. Runs 2:50 with an intermission, and I didn't look at my watch once.

I saw Death of Salesman last night with Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf, and was glued to the performance the entire time.  I'm not much for dramas, but this story and acting were well executed and I was in tears by the second half.  Great production.

There was a profile of Laurie Metcalf a couple of weeks ago in The New Yorker and then a PBS Newshour interview with Nathan Lane and Ms. Metcalf earlier this week; after reading one and seeing the other, I would like to see it.

I love him in The Gilded Age.

This is a stunning production! It just won the Tony for best revival of a play and a slew of others. Highly recommend!

He was very good... And shirtless for most of the first half of the play! 😉
