+ EVdude Posted Tuesday at 11:37 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:37 AM (edited) Surprised not to find any mention of this on CoM. Terribly flawed and incomplete Japanese film adaptation of the BL manga (Boys’ Love) on Netflix revolving around Ballroom competition specifically between a Latin dancer and Standard dancer. Should have been made into a series, though there will likely be a second movie. But for all of the mess it was, there were some lush moments… beautiful, sexy and kept me watching. The 2 lead actors had zero dance background. I think they did a reasonably nice job in spite of the horrible writing. Mods: not sure if this belongs here or under movies, as it’s streaming on Netflix. Edited Tuesday at 12:01 PM by EVdude + SirBillybob 1
+ SirBillybob Posted Tuesday at 01:11 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:11 PM I wonder if some of the film locations are Hokkaido Island.

My best friend ChatGPT says… In addition to UK locations (specifically Blackpool), the 2025 Netflix film 10Dance was shot in several Japan locations, with a large portion of the production taking place in Shizuoka, including dance competition scenes at the Shizuoka Convention Arts Center (Granship). Based on promotions for the film, other featured locations in Japan include: Osaka City Central Public Hall (Osaka) The Golden Palace Osaka (Dance hall scenes) Osaka Water Bus Otemachi Place East Tower (Tokyo) Irish Pub Craic (Akasaka, Tokyo) Ryu-kan Sakura Bridge (Tokyo) The film also features various other spots in Tokyo and the Greater Tokyo Area, such as Hiroo in Shibuya (HAVANA 1950).
+ purplekow Posted yesterday at 07:57 AM Posted yesterday at 07:57 AM The resemblance to the Heated Rivalry men is startling. The entertainment industry seems obsessed with copying anything that becomes successful. Usually this results in a generally poor imitation which causes viewer fatigue with the original successful concept. For example. Addam's Family. Munsters. I Dream of Jeannie/ Bewitched with more recent examples being Dancing with the Stars/ So You Think You Can Dance. It seems the educators of the people who become entertainment executives never taught them not to copy off of their neighbor's paper.
