I had a college roommate that thought he was a comedian,  e.g. he would often ask "Would you like a little cream in your coffee?" (ba-dump bump)

I follow this vlog called @thespicynonna  from Niagara in Canada about this young (and cute) fellow's Italian-Canadian grandmother.

Often the channel is about his grandfather who is quite creative and clever.

This latest vlog below shows the grandfather making espresso coffee with sugar, egg yolk and hazelnut liquor.   I have never tried this kind of coffee.  Have you?

Looks yummy.  So does the grandson.  😉

Do you have a special approach to preparing your coffee?

(FYI the granddaughter has her own YouTube Vlog about dog grooming with over a million subscribers.)

This same gentleman posted again, this time an instant coffee technique.

He uses frozen blackberries, all from his garden.  My freezer is full of frozen pomegranate.  Perhaps I'll toss some in next time I make instant coffee.

I would not be comfortable ingesting the raw eggs.

I did some googling because your post made me curious.  About 1 in every 20,000 eggs is contaminated by salmonella, but it is usually either a multistate outbreak from a single producer or eggs from backyard coops.  Nonetheless, salmonella is still a concern — especially if you’re high-risk:  young children, elderly, pregnant, or immunocompromised — and it causes ~450 deaths a year.

With the OP recipe, I wonder if the hot espresso is enough to kill off any possible salmonella.  For homemade Caesar dressing, the lemon juice and vinegar in the recipe should be enough to kill it off.  No guarantee, unfortunately.

When I get back to the US, I really want to try this recipe — basically a blend of eggnog, liqueur, and espresso — except I’ll try a Spanish version using 43 instead of Frangelico.

My old roommate had a favorite cake from her childhood that used raw eggs. I made it for her birthday and asked her about it - she said she'd been eating it for 30 years with no issues 🙂 it's honestly a great cake, I haven't made it in years and now I want to.

I discovered a new favorite at Starbucks, the Shakerato Bianco, 4 shots of espresso shaken with ice then topped with sweetened vanilla half & half.  I hate that I’ve discovered yet another addictive liquid dessert variation for my morning caffeine fix, but it is delicious!
