Seems like Fresh Men Spa did a refresh and name change to AI. Same address and the bottom of the Contact Us page has the old Fresh Men phone number. Either to they remodeled or the pics are fake.

I didn't know Macdougal St. had such a great view of the mountains!  I look forward to visiting!

What?  Mountains? It’s in the village. NYC. Unless that was a joke I didn’t understand

Ok - aside from their ridiculous website with the mountains out the window 🤣 - anyone have any experience there? Good, bad, indifferent? Any names to mention? Def interested in some newness in the neighborhood!

I wanted to see Brian, but he was off on Tuesday, so I saw Jason for a 30-minute scrub and 60-minute massage. Scrub was OK, though the set-up of their table does not allow the masseur to move around, and it has a water drainage system rather than water running off the table like I'm used to. Of course, the tight quarters leads to a more sensual touch.

Massage was also OK, but I could not allow a deep-tissue massage, so I don't know if his skills are good if you want full pressure.

The facility is barebones like every Asian spa I've visited.

I left happier than I expected for a first-time visit, but always YMMV. No upselling whatsoever during the scrub/massage.

Would I return? Perhaps, especially to see Brian who seems a little more built. But no complaints here.

I am trying this afternoon based on recommendation of the illustrious @JayinHKNYC. While I acknowledge the name of the place is absolutely awful and so is some of the obviously inaccurate marketing… the service so far has been great. They are super responsive over text and very accommodating. I’ll report back on my experience.

My comments are in the connected Freshmen spa (now AI) thread above from last May. Not sure if Allen and Daniel are still there.

I had a good experience at AI Man. It is on the second floor across from another spa, so don’t get confused when entering. :) the signs say “Man Spa.”

The facilities are very basic, just as @JayinHKNYC noted. Typical Asian spa. As I noted the manager was very helpful and engaging, to me that makes a big difference.

All in, the massage was probably a 7/10. JJ is a slightly older twink, he took great care of me. No upselling, just great service. I tipped accordingly. I would repeat. I hope this spa does well.

Fresh Men made sense. AI Man sounds like a future nobody asked for…
