+ SirBillybob Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 (edited) It’s long, so be sure to empty your bladder ahead of time because you won’t want to miss a beat. I expect that Sean Penn will receive a Supporting Actor nomination. Edited October 5, 2025 by SirBillybob + SidewaysDM and thomas 1 1
Rod Hagen Posted October 9, 2025 Posted October 9, 2025 Sean Penn is so friggin RIpped in the movie. "Dude, why is your shirt so tight?" "I'm not gay if that's what you're asking." Lol He looks like this: thomas, + SidewaysDM and marylander1940 1 2

Ha Ha. No, the line "Dude why is your shirt so tight?" and his response "I'm not gay" are quotes from the movie. :-) + SidewaysDM, samhexum, MikeBiDude and 1 other 1 1 2
d.anders Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 I saw the film last night. Not sure what to say. I don't get the hype at all. I see the craft. It's a solid work. Good performances and work from everyone. But in the end, the story, so what? Do I want to watch it again? I don't think so. The best character in the film is played by Sean Penn, and he plays the complexity brilliantly, but what a weird, unlikable guy. The mother is crazy fun to watch, but then she disappears. The film has a Tarantino feel to it, but this is no Pulp Fiction or Inglourious Bastards, both films I saw three times. It had a $140 million budget, but it doesn't look like it. It made some money, but not nearly as much as was expected. Many are calling it a flop. OTOH, lots of people talking about Oscar Best Picture. The bar is really low these days. + SidewaysDM 1
TonyDown Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I'll watch One Battle After Another again before I make up my mind. Great cast. Timely theme. + EVdude 1

I watched it again tonight. I was in a better frame of mind. Good movie! Glad I gave it a 2nd chance. The film is very long and has a lot of violence. Lot of characters. I especially liked Benicio del Toro. I recommend paying close attention to all the plot points. I had to do an Internet search a couple of times to confirm how an outcome was possible. Also, remember Pike from Big Eden? Eric Zweig has a minor role but an important one. Edited 5 hours ago by TonyDown
