Hello, everyone!

I would love to get feedback or opinions on these two guys that I'm thinking of hiring while I'm in Bogotá. They both have OF accounts and have actually collaborated in the past. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe they are the real deals, so I won't have to do "secondary" screenings other than registering them in the building.

Archie

Andrés

Thanks!

You should ask in the proper subform at Gayguides.com. You'll have better chances to find someone who hired these guys.

I've met both of these guys!

Archie was a great guy, good English, and nice to talk to. I'm not really into gingers, so that was my only issue with him. But, overall, if he's your type, I would definitely recommend.

Andres made less of an impression on me. My experience was just ok. I wouldn't repeat.

Another member asked me for more information about Bogota by private message, but here's my reply in case anyone else is interested...

I've been spending six weeks in Bogotá every summer as well as a week or two at some other point in the year. The weather where I live (in New Orleans) is miserably hot in the summer, so an escape to the comfortable 60s is a real treat. The weather there seems to be the same all year, but be prepared for some drizzle.

I've felt pretty safe in Bogotá, particularly in the good neighborhoods. There are some pretty sketchy areas, so it's always important to be aware of your surroundings.

Uber is definitely the way to get around. Although it can take 45 minutes to ride across town, the Uber fares are usually ridiculously low; often around $4. Taking an Uber avoids any safety issues that you might have walking through unknown neighborhoods.

I usually stay at a Holiday Inn Express near Parque 93. It's a really nice, high-end neighborhood with lots of bars and restaurants that you can safely walk to. Be aware that most, if not all, hotels in Bogotá will require that visitors show their ID and register at the front desk. Some hotels charge a fee for visitors, or don't allow them at all. At the Holiday Inn Express, I was initially intimidated by the process of registering my visitors at the front desk, but I've ultimately realized that it is for my own safety, and seems free of judgement. The boys generally expect this as well, so remind them to bring their ID with them, but expect them to handle it professionally.

As far as Archie goes, I recommend him wholeheartedly. He was very friendly with excellent English and looks just like his photos. It's unfortunate that I'm really just not into redheads because he was excellent in every other way.

When it comes to PrEP, Colombia is several years behind the US. When I first started coming to Bogotá, BB was very rare, but it's quickly becoming more common. If it's really important to you, it's probably best to ask when setting up the appointment. (and, I've seen some guys charge extra for BB)

The going rate in Bogotá seems to be 200,000 - 300,000 pesos, about $50-75 USD. Some outliers will charge 100,000 pesos or try for 400,000 pesos. Be particularly careful about contacting guys through rentmen; as soon as they figure out you're an American, they'll try to charge you US rates. For example, there was one guy I contacted in Spanish from a Colombian phone number, and he quoted 200,000 pesos. Then, I asked him if he spoke English and revealed that I'm an American. His rate immediately went up to 300,000 pesos. When I asked him why, he replied, "Because that's the way it's always been."

Thanks! I've gotten in touch with both of them. Interestingly enough, Andres sounded more cordial to me than Archie.

Maybe this will become a ¿por qué no los dos? thing haha.
