I have been hiring providers for many years and only once did someone ask me that, over the phone, while we were working out logistics & details. I told him I'm not in law enforcement, but apparently he didn't believe me because he didn't show up at the agreed upon location & time. But that was many years ago.

However, I'd be lying if I said this doesn't cross my mind, given the current political environment. This is one of the reasons why I actually prefer that the provider blur their face (or hide it) in their profiles. With the current state of technology and AI, and cameras everywhere, it wouldn't take much for law enforcement to identify people who advertise. I once met a provider who was living in the U.S. but was from Europe and he told me that he had friends (I guess you could call them co-workers?) who had been denied entry into the U.S. because they somehow knew that the person worked as a service provider.
