How old are you @ApexNomad? I hope you are as well!

I hope it'll be good but no John Candy and no Joan Rivers anymore. :classic_sad:

Here is all the sequel info from the first film's wikipedia page:

Moranis claimed in a 2013 interview that he and Brooks had discussed a potential sequel, with Moranis pitching the title Spaceballs III: The Search for Spaceballs II. However, he and Brooks were unable to structure a deal that would allow the project to move forward. In February 2015, Brooks said that he would like to make a sequel to be released after the next Star Wars film and hoped that Moranis would reprise his role. This proposed film, Brooks said, may be called Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money. However, in February 2020, Bill Pullman said during an interview with Daily Blast Live, "It's up to Mel. Ask him if he has too much money and that's why he doesn't do it." In June 2024, a sequel was announced with Brooks serving as producer alongside Josh Gad, who will also star in the film, and that Josh Greenbaum would serve as director.

Brooks will be reprising the role of Yogurt. According to Deadline Hollywood, both Pullman and Moranis are returning, with Pullman as Lone Starr and Moranis reprising Dark Helmet, while The Wrap confirmed that Zuniga will reprise her role as Princess Vespa. They are also joined by Lewis Pullman and Keke Palmer as Starburst, the son of Lone Star and Vespa, and a character named Destiny, respectively. According to the press release, the film has been described by those who have not yet read the script as "A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film." The sequel is anticipated to be released in theaters in 2027.

Not as old a Mel, but some days I feel it. Thank you for your kind note, my friend. I hope you are well too.

So fucking adorable.   Months ago I went to a screening:  50th (holy shit!) anniversary of the always hilarious Blazing Saddles.

Afterward, there was a Q/A w/Mel, who I think is 125 years old now.  He wore a 3-piece suit for us, and was schwitzing a bit.  Amazingly sharp and clever and so very funny and upbeat.
