Hey folks,

I just read Ian's review today and I feel bad. Ian is another one of those escorts, like Troy of CT, who I saw before i really started writing reviews. Over a year ago, I wrote 1 or 2 reviews of Brett of Boston (oh sweet Brett with the voice of Justin Timberlake), but I didn't really start writing reviews again until December 2000, I think. I saw Ian back in June or July, I can't remember. Ian was sooooo nice, and if you measured atitude on a scale from 0 to 10, his was negative 2.

Troy already has some good reviews going for him, so I don't feel a big need right now to add my positive review of him. But this first review of Ian, though written in a positive light, still was kind of negative. I could post a review of him, but its almost been a year and HooBoy once told me that after a certain amount of time the review can be obsolete. Any advice? Especially from HooBoy, if he's listening. Its just that Ian was such a very nice guy. Very affectionate.

I think the review of Ian was pretty balanced and did emphasize that he is a sweet guy. That's how I read it, at least.

To throw my 2 cents in: the only reasons I can see for a review being "obsolete" after a while are

(a) the escort's physical description is no longer accurate

or

(b) the escort's behavior has changed

In this case I don't think (a) is relevant. From the new pictures I've seen Ian is cuter than ever. As for (b), I couldn't say.

My opinion is that we should all be free to submit reviews that describe how a session really went. I see so many reviews which are either glowing ("Oh my God this guy is so great!!") or horrible. In reality most guys are somewhere in between at least some of the time. That does not mean they're bad escorts, on the contrary, they might be superlative much of the time.

Hooboy, is there a policy about reviews becoming "obsolete"? If there is, I would support the idea of scrapping it, or, as a compromise, flagging old reviews in some neutral way so readers know that they're not totally current.

If more "balanced" reviews were posted more often it might help to alleviate the misconception that one bad review is fatal poison.

oh yes, I agree. The review was EXTREMELY balanced. From reading it, its had to guess that its a negative review. Maybe hooBoy should add extra description options to the "Did he match his physical description" and "was he what you expected" categories; like "Did you like the guy". I don't know :o) LOL.

Its not a big deal, but it something to think about if the review section of this site ever goes through another revision.

That might be a fun thread, "What Revisions Might You Make to the Escort Reviews?". Food for thought.

There is no policy, however I prefer to receive new reviews on events that took place within reasonable time frame. A review from an encounter 10 years ago is probably less interesting than last season's "Survivor," or this season's for that matter!

I think a review was posted last night of an encounter that took place almost a year ago. I think that is too long for a new review and I may end up yanking it. :-)

You could always hire Ian again and write a "hot off the press" review. Just a thought. Hell, there's got to be SOME incentive to visit Philly. And we all know that damn bell gets really boring the 2nd and 3rd time you go see it.

I think a review should be reasonably current. A couple months is ok but not too much further. I think that sometimes the reviewer can think about the encounter too long or dwell on certain aspects the farther away the event is. I think with you shadow, that you are such a nice guy that you feel a little guilty that you did not write a review sooner. But if Ian is as good as you say......and I suspect he is based upon your credibility.. he will get more good reviews soon :-)

ps...the earlier suggestion that you meet with Ian again and write a current review is also great :-)

hey, if anyone here wants to sponsor the trip I would be more than happy to meet up with Ian and many other Premiere guys. Shadow is on a budget :)

Thanks for the kind words, by the way, elwood.

As the reviewer of Ian, I would encourage you to review him.

He WAS sweet, adorable, affectionate, a great kisser, talented, eager-to-please, etc.

His old pix were terrible and his new ones still don't capture his cuteness, especially the twinkle in his eye when his mouth is full.

My complaint was more with Premier than with Ian. If you go in expecting nothing more that a fabulous oral/manual time, you WILL want to write a glowing review and you may well be surprised with a great anal experience.

Dick

PS- I appreciate the posters who acknowledged the balance in my review. I try.

LAST EDITED ON May-03-01 AT 08:58PM (EST)[p]... and a big thank you from me to CT Dick for using the same handle in his reviews as he does in the Forums ...

If there is one change that I would like to see with regard to the reviews it would be that you *must* register in order to post a review, and that you *must* post the review under the same name that you use in the Forums.

I actually thought that was what we had to do.

Also CT, like I said before, I agree that your review was very balanced. In fact, the way it was written makes it look almost like a positive review.

I wish I had the gift to write negative reviews like that.

** You know I am guilty of this! I was originally posting reviews before I had registered for the forums. Now it causes me to use one handle to post reviews and one for the forum.

It was not very clear to me how the site originally worked. I have also received credability challenges because of this too from other people posting messages saying I am a fake.

I will start using my registered signon name so people can read my reviews and interact with me in the forums.

Hooboy, please note my username on this forum is DVS and my handle for reviews is Companion Seeker. My next reviews will come under the new handle of DVS.

Thanks Again guys for helping.

It's none of my business, but since you have very few posts, perhaps you might think of retaining your review name Companion Seeker and changing your forum name to that. I would think that consistency in reviews is the more important of the options, especially since your forum identity is not yet very well-established.

HooBoy, if this is indeed a new policy, I would urge you to go back and look at several of the reviews that went up on your site in the first year. The first (and so far ONLY) negative review of me was posted by someone who claimed that they had seen me more than 4 YEARS PRIOR!!!

As someone here said, it's easy to stew over a moment when 2 people didn't click and allow it to become a bigger deal than it was. I'm glad that you posted my response, but it has bothered me that the review has remained up despite numerous glowing, and more importantly, CURRENT reviews. I would ask that you remove this review.

Without opening up a can of worms, I'm sure that there are few (not many) reviews sprinkled throughout the site which fall under the same category. I'm sure that the escorts who have otherwise positive reviews would appreciate your removing them.
