Rentmasseur.com is a joke. I posted a short but accurate fact-based review of a masseur. This is a masseur i contacted via Rentmasseur.com's email. I guess masseurs can contest accurate reviews and since the site gets its money from the masseur, the site removed my review.  The site is a joke.

Hey, have you tried to email the webmaster and let them know what you posted, because I know you have to go through the webmaster if anything needs to be changed, or someone makes a mistake.  The reviewer has to go in and email the webmaster for corrections.

Yes, I emailed the webmaster for Rentmasseur.com.  The review of the session with me was posted after 14 days after the date of the acutal session.  While the webmaster intially posted my review, the webmaster then deleted my review later, apparently after the "masseur" contested my review.  The masseur sent me an email in Rentmasseur complaining why I submitted a review that was not favorable to him, and I assume he later sent a complaint to the webmaster, who is paid by subscribers like the masseur.  In a subsequent email from the webmaster, the reason I was told that my review was deleted was that my review was submitted after 14 days after the massage, which it was.  I have no clue what the rules are for posting a reivew on rentmasseur.com.  If anyone has them, please post the rules.  I have no clue why reviews cannot be posted more than 14 days after a session.

When I got the massage, it was a horrible experience, and I didn't think the guy, Scandic, would return to my city ever again so I didn't post a review.  But, he did return to visiting my city.  When I saw his profile NordicNoir (a new name), I realized he is returing to my area, and I posted a review to inform potential customers of his approach.

I'm sorry, that happened to you.

I do know one of their rules is, you must have communication which I did read in your post with the massage therapist on the site.

I had no idea that massage therapist can contest reviews, that is kind of odd.

Post your review with links here on the forum, esp. if he's a traveling provider, so people everywhere can search and be forewarned. :)

Want to hear an even stranger story?  I had a masseur delete a review that was actually positive, at least in my mind.  The only thing that I could imagine that rubbed him the wrong way is that I wrote that he was so attractive that it was a bit difficult for me to relax and fully enjoy the massage.  I guess he somehow thought that was either a back-handed compliment or bothered him in some other way, but I didn't contact him to ask why he had my review removed.

The guy still advertises using the same photos he used nearly 20 years ago, so maybe I should give him another go.  He likely wouldn't recognize me and I probably won't feel as intimated even if he still looks good.    :)

But you complimented him, but then he might have thought maybe people would not want to get a massage based off of that??  Maybe?

The provider has changed his name.  His current name was Scandic.  His current name is NordicNoir.

My review:

This guy is controlling, and I did not enjoy him.  The massage was C+, and then he got quite directive, which I was not open to.  I am not returning back to him.

I sent this email to the webmaster of Rentmasseur.com:

"Can you send me a link to a comprehensive list of your rules so that I can follow them? I am frustrated by learning a new rule that was not known to me previously. Please send me a list of your rules. Respectfully."

I received this reply:

"Hello, Jimmy here.

Please consider checking the link below with the "terms and use"

Can we trust rentmen reviews?

Tough question - I personally know that rentmen will remove a bad review merely because a provider gives a good excuse for contradicting the bad review.

There have been several ads that I felt were interesting and worthy of my hiring.  Most of those ads had many five star reviews and several one star reviews, which caused me to ignore the ad and not contact the provider.  Over time (a few months), while going through the ads on rentmen, I noticed that the same guys that I once would have liked to hire but did not because of the bad, one star reviews, had numerous five star reviews and the one star reviews had disappeared.

Needless to say, I now give almost no credibility to rentmen reviews.

The following is my experience.

IMO that Website is a mess including questionable reviews, difficulty cancelling my premium level, etc.  The one thing I like is messaging another account to ask about a review.  But even that is difficult to accomplish.

To the OP, I've only been successful posting one review.  Otherwise I find it is a waste of my time, including your specific issue.  In one case the Website claimed I entered a review for a provider I hadn't contacted using their Website which baffled me.  Was bullsh!t. Communicating with the Webmaster is very limited.

So yeah, tread carefully with them.  I do not trust much of the information including reviews.

I come here to confirm the quality of the provider.  Like some of you, I took one for the team, a couple times.  Got burned.

I noticed a client left five stars along with a negative review, I assume as an an attempt as a work around.  I know the review was accurate as I had seen the same provider.  Of course it was removed.  I also notice all the providers other reviews are written in a very similar style lol.

Sort of makes the site pointless.
