moonlight Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Anyone care to share their lip care regimen? I usually have chapped lips despite extensive efforts to keep them soft and moisturized. I can get by using a sugar-based exfoliator along with a shea-butter based balm, which will keep them in ok shape for a couple hours. But I'm looking for a better solution. Any tips or product recs? marylander1940 1
56harrisond Posted March 16 Posted March 16 When you go to bed, try applying a lip mask. I like Laneige and Burt's Bees. moonlight and Whippoorwill 1 1
+ BenjaminNicholas Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Yes, exfoliation is needed, but the right balm is too. There's only one lip balm on the market that uses cortisone. And it works very, very well. https://drdanslipbalm.com/cortibalm/ marylander1940, moonlight, Whippoorwill and 1 other 4
+ Vegas_Millennial Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Whenever I swallow a load, I try to spread some of the cum around my lips with my tongue. I feel this is nature's best protein moisture serum. 56harrisond, marylander1940, Whippoorwill and 1 other 2 1 1
BuffaloKyle Posted March 16 Posted March 16 My lips are usually pretty good even in the winter which is surprising because the skin on my hands get super dry and cracked. When I did one time have super dry lips this worked for me: Amazon.com: O'Keeffe's Lip Repair Lip Balm With Cooling Relief for Dry, Cracked Lips - Stick (2 Pack) - Moisturizer for Very Dry Lips WWW.AMAZON.COM Amazon.com: O'Keeffe's Lip Repair Lip Balm With Cooling Relief for Dry, Cracked Lips - Stick (2 Pack) - Moisturizer for Very Dry Lips + Vegas_Millennial and Whippoorwill 1 1
Whippoorwill Posted April 7 Posted April 7 My lips were always chapped and I was continually using chap stick, to not much avail. Then last year I asked my MD to freeze off the dark "sun burn spots" on my face. Because I had so many, she recommended putting a lotion all over my face, and it would dry up the dark spots, they would turn black, and fall off. She prescribed two topical solutions to mix 50/50 and put on my face 2x/day for 10 days. They were Calcipotrience Topical Solution and Fluorouracil Cream WSP, 5%. Lo and behold, I let it accidentally drip on my lips and it turns out the ongoing lip dryness had actually been the result of old sunburns. My lips turned completely black, and then peeled They took weeks to heal (a little painful and very unsightly) but now they are smooth as a baby's butt. It wasn't chapping at all, but the result of old-sunburned lips, something I never knew existed. + Vegas_Millennial and moonlight 2
moonlight Posted April 8 Author Posted April 8 That's really intriguing @Whippoorwill. I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of the problem for me too. I want to thank @56harrisond for introducing me to the world of lip masks. I haven't tried Laneige yet, but I tried one called Jouer which is definitely helping. 56harrisond 1
