I just watched the first episode of NBC's newest show starring Melissa Roxburgh, who was Michaela on manifest.

It was OK… It has kind of a blacklist/manifest vibe, in that there will be a weekly storyline which incrementally (and probably frustratingly) builds to an ever-elusive overall mystery.

It was decent enough that I'll keep watching it and see if it retains my interest.

So after watching the flip off all day I kept thinking I was watching Christina Haack-El Moussa-Anstead-Hall-Haack starring in The Hunting Party tonight.

It is not the worst show I've ever watched (it's also very far from the best) but it's like nails on a blackboard to me every time someone calls the lead character Bex.  It's just such a TV character name.

Tomorrow is the season finale of the show only my sister and I watch.  I think I have an idea what the inevitable shocking reveal/cliffhanger will be.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much explanation they gave and how much they tied up.

I was also pleasantly surprised by who Shane's mom turned out to be.

I enjoyed the series a bit more than I thought I would and hope they renew it.

The show is being held for midseason.  This past season of Organized Crime will have the 10pm Thursday slot when the season starts and then hunting party takes over.

Eric McCormack and Niecy Nash have guest starred in the first two episodes of the season and Kelsey Grammar will be in an upcoming one.

Obviously they are part of the Hunting Party who are hunting for a job.

I liked the way they wrapped up the two season storyline and they set it up nicely for a new season that will never happen because I will be completely shocked if NBC renews this show, though I'm holding out hope that they will.

The fate of "The Hunting Party," which aired Thursdays at 10 p.m. this spring, remains TBD. Asked by TVLine about a timeline for a renewal decision — and, given NBC's limited number of available time slots, if a move to Peacock is a possibility — Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content at NBC and Peacock, remains mum, saying only: "We're discussing all things, and hope to have some clarity soon."
