Before I attended my first COM Palm Springs event, he was, just like everybody else, a complete stranger to me. He was very kind and supportively encouraging for me to shake my nerves and just go and meet some great people. The year he gave me this advice, I was suddenly put into an awkward dilemma - either see one of my favorite masseurs who was abruptly retiring (and he really has stayed retired), or go to the 2022 event. I opted to see the masseur, and he made it permanently memorable.

I have now gone to the Palm Springs event the last two years (and intend in 2025 on both striking up conversation with men I've seen each time who I've found too intimidating to talk to, as well as those I may have missed saying hello to this most recent time). What was weird was this year being put into a similar dilemma, even though typically my calendar is about as wide open as they get. There was an optional work function I was greatly interested in attending, but it is an annual affair, so I hope that the days don't end up exactly the same this coming year so I can go to both.

Hey, viewing ownly, I'm still here. I'm just Summerson these days and the funniest part is that we've been talking in PMs for a while, as you'll realize when you check your inbox. I had no idea you didn't realize I was...well...me. When the new webmaster for this site came up with a way to allow name changes, I decided to go for it, because switching to Summerson allowed me to align my identity across many of the sites I currently use, including this one and RM, as well as my primary email account. It's been a lot less confusing for folks this way. Check out my signature line below. There was a time long ago when I was Romany147 most places online, but that name was tied to an old Excite.com email address that no longer exists. Sorry for any confusion. I guess my next question is whether you thought you were talking to "old me" or "new me" when we talked in PS the last two years.
