There has been a lot of discussion here about the first meeting between provider and client.    Most times,  interaction online,  email or text.   There can be times when a perspective new client may want to meet in person and interact.     I have no problem with any of the above.

I had a perspective new client who requested a quick conversation during the middle of the business day and it coincided with my giving a presentation to a group with my  "day job".    I was in a white dress shirt and tie and in my professional mode.     When I met with the proposed client,  he was surprised to say the least,  but positively so.    We had a very interesting conversation and he was absolutely intrigued.      In the end,  it was a very positive take on a first time meeting.     I suppose it could have been different,   but many of my clients are businessmen and I feel very comfortable and confident chatting them up on various topics.      I suppose it could have been the opposite,   but I didn't have time to change my clothes.    Anyone else have a similar experience?

Interesting observation. I think some clients make assumptions about providers, and when they come across things that challenge those assumptions it surprises them.

During chat after a session one regular client told me he was surprised I was so educated 😂. This client happens to like having his arse slapped with a paddle and flogger. I told him “I went to public school, so of course I understand all about bending over and having your arse whipped”. (Note for Americans…public school in UK is private school as in fee paying).

Sometimes clients just assume you’re doing this because you have no choice, they don’t realise it’s a vocation.

People make many assumptions about sex work, especially when it challenges their perceptions. For some, it’s hard to understand that someone could choose this profession willingly, with a sense of agency, rather than out of necessity. I think it’s because society often positions sex—especially queer sex—as taboo or something sacred, while ignoring the fact that, for many, sex work is a vocation like any other. It allows people to provide a valuable service.

And that’s not to say sex isn’t sacred for those who view it that way. I lost my gay virginity to a provider, and it was the best decision. He took my first time like it was sacred, and I felt really safe. I couldn’t have felt more special. Back then, I had the luxury of meeting the guy over lunch to see how I felt. I think that type of interaction is sometimes lost on some providers today—rightly or wrongly—but it made all the difference for me as a “first timer.” Assuming you find the right person, it can be an incredibly helpful, special, and empowering experience.
