A self published book by escort Armann - "Behind the Mask"

Found the old, locked thread by TruHart1, which no one else contributed to, about this book. 

Just Read the book.  Enjoyed it.  He seems like a really really sweet guy. 

What city did he primarily operate out of and what was his full escort name, just Armann?  I want to find him in the archives and read his reviews if possible.

Did you read the book?  Did you like it?

Did you hire him, how was he?  

Does anyone know how he's doing these days?  I hope he's doing great!

I first met him under the name “Armand,” but his RM ad was always under “Armann.” He was one of my favorite hires, and I got to enjoy his company every three months or so before the pandemic. I miss him because he was one of the best escorts I’ve ever been lucky enough to meet! I did write a glowing review back before you had to pay to review like RM requires now. I, too, wish him only the best. As he wrote in his book, he enjoyed traveling around to smaller Midwest cities, which is how I met him.

i’ve tried to contact him a number of times since, but never had any response from him since that last communication.

I just spent some time reading his old posts on this forum.  Smart guy!

I found his old Rentmen Ad on the Internet Archive, but unfortunately the photos were not archived.

I am so very sorry to hear bout his difficulties at the border.  I know from his book that being arrested in Vegas was extremely upsetting for him and he hoped, and promised himself, that nothing like that would happen again.  How terrible.

I emailed him, if he gets back to me I'll suggest he start a GoFund me if he's still impacted by what happened. If he does start one, I'll link to it here if he allows me.  

I wish I could have met him.  The universe doesn't care what I hope, but I hope that somehow he is doing ok without the work (although the book ending indicated he was about to get out of the business anyway.)

Thank you for responding TruHart1.  I am very glad you were able to spend time with him and I am sure he appreciated your attention, financial help, and your praising of him on this website.

The book appears to be selfPublished, so purchasing it will still go to him.  It's a fun read.  BUY IT!  you'll be helping a beautiful man.

When you have the opportunity to write a memoir-style book (and are then asked for a treatment by a major publisher), it's a massive double-edged sword.

Once you spill the beans and tell tales out of school- the kinds of stories that actually sell books- you're persona non grata in your own industry, risking lawsuits, both personal and against your publisher.  It's just a bad position to be in.  It's a risk a lot of publishers won't take.

If you write the cliche self-discovery story with minor splashes of cloaked sex work, the story becomes a lot less fun and more of what we've read so many times before:  A personal trauma compilation mixed with some positive mantras at the end to help the reader avoid needing a Zoloft.

My comment here wasn't directed towards Armand.  It was a general statement about our industry and the stories that come out about it.

The good news is that several entertaining memoirs, even a couple actual literary ones, have come out of it so yay!

I read his book prior to hiring him. I guess I didn't find the grammatical errors so egregious that I didn't automatically insert the correct word or tense and still have a clear understanding of what he was communicating.

I met with him a few times when our travel schedules coincided. Always a good experience for me. I will echo what was said above in that I always met with him in Midwestern cities.

He expressed to me that he was resided in Atlanta, but didn't work in Atlanta. Only worked as a traveling provider.

Just a happy update to the above. I sent another email to Armand about a week ago and he answered me this time, writing:

”i dont use this email more, but once every now and then i get messages from my clients.  Im doing well, started my own business, i own a souvenir shop in Mexico, recently i opened a second one, it keeps me busy and i really love living here, everyting is going great with me, thanks for checking on me.”

It’s certainly great to know he is doing so well, and is successful in the career he’s chosen since his “retirement!”
