+ azdr0710 Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 I hope I can ask this here..... I have a Windows 10 desktop and usually use a Firefox browser....some of you with Cox email probably changed over to Yahoo last month......I used to use Thunderbird for my Cox email and had a T-bird icon right on my desktop view ready to click on that went right to my email......at the big changeover last month, I chose to use direct Yahoo email and not a third-party like T-bird......that's going ok and is taking some getting used to, but I have to manually type in the Yahoo mail URL in a browser to get to my mail, though I did just now set up the URL on the Bookmarks Toolbar in the browser to avoid the manual typing..........what I'd really like to do is, like the old T-bird icon on the desktop page, have a Yahoo Email icon and entirely skip going to the browser to get my email....... I've looked around and can't figure out how to do that......any ideas, anyone??........I can try to contact Yahoo support if you think that's best, but just dreading the wait and all.......thanks very much
+ poolboy48220 Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Not exactly what you're asking, but I have Chrome on my taskbar and Chrome's always open when the computer's on. Yahoo mail is the first bookmark on my Chrome bookmarks bar, although the Yahoo mail is always open on the first or second tab too - I do my 'casual' browsing in other tabs. + azdr0710 1

Copy de URL at the top. 2.- Right click on your desktop, select New -->Direct access and paste the URL.--> Next 3.- Type the name you would like, something like Yahoo Mail - Done There should now be a direct access to your email on your desktop. + azdr0710 1

Great! I'm glad I could help. It's probably called "shortcut" in all of them; I was just going by memory, which once again has proven to be not as reliable as I'd like. LOL!
