Recommendations for Photographers

So I've been lucky enough to have 2 photographers who have done  a number of fitness photo shoots in some great locations.    They are not professional photographers and those who specialize in nudes or artistic photos are few and far between in the middle of the country.

Just curious how many providers use professional photographers and if so, if you are comfortable in recommending contact information.   If they are located in the middle of the country,  that helps.   I do have one noted who is in LA and is originally from Kansas and does a fantastic job.

Thoughts?

Paul Kubek is great to work with. Reasonable cost and high quality. He listens to your needs. Based in Dallas.

He does “boudoir” style shoots and nudes of all kinds although those may not be immediately apparent on his portfolio pages.

He may not be located in the middle of the country, but this forum's own Vin Marco is an extraordinarily talented photographer of the male physique.  If you visit the site ManifestMen.com you can see some of his older work.  You have probably seen many of his photos of iconic muscle guys through the years and didn't even realize you were looking at his work.  His photos of Zeb Atlas, Mitchell Rock, Apollo Phoenix (much discussed and admired on this forum recently), Matthew Rush, and other porn/escorting legends stand the test of time.  Vin has been honing his photography skills of late and does a lot more than just the male form, but his male nudes remain my favourite subject!

I really don't have enough words to thank you for being so generous.... I will think of a way some time REAL SOON 😜🫂🙏🏽😘 @Brock O

The answer to the original question is, YES. It's really just simple marketing and advertising 101....  it's the difference between a so so billboard and a very effective billboard. Quality images help drive the ads simply put.

When I was starting out I had the insight to contact the best physique photographers at that time...  I knew they'd capture me in a way that pleased me AND they would give me the exposure I so badly needed in the very beginning. If I thought I was busy for a newbie, my world changed drastically when I landed on the cover of playgirl, when Colt Studios photographed me just to name a couple.. both paid rubbish but I  had  a word with myself and decided I was going to let their marketing dollars work for me.. I was in a hotel once with a client and the hotel had my "Minuteman 22" video for sale on demand. Lol I only got busier and busier after letting them pay me little,  as I grew overwhelmed with the schedule of "providing" as a result. It's not always about the quick buck but rather a long term endeavor. One piece of advice I might proffer is to be very discerning of who takes your photos. Once it's out there it's out there forever. I always took into consideration whether the photographer was extremely talented and or was this going to give me the type of exposure I wanted. Good luck to you!

I almost forgot to mention, Mark Henderson, a wonderfully talented and gifted male erotica photographer, lives in Fort Worth. I've had the good fortune to be in three of his books, and in one book called the lap of luxury, I appear three times in it. Those photos really helped drive my ads and help keep me both relative and  competitive in the world of "providing"

Another thing I might add is that yes, I'm out of the game of "professional photography" but I've kept up with the very latest camera bodies and lenses, still have enough studio lighting to light up Times Square 😂

These days I offer my services to friends who are graduating, want family photos, people getting ready to compete who want proof that they were in the best shape of their entire lives lol  I've even photographed clients whom I've helped lose weight... I've helped multiple people lose an excess of 100 lbs and keep it off years later... now that's REWARDING. Some of those have allowed me the honor to photo document their achievements. I take more pride in those photos than any muscle man or model I've ever been fortunate enough to photograph.

Every once in a while I check out “The Photographer” gallery just to see if there’s  one of you there.

Maybe someday… 😏

Hey @Vin_Marco would you take on a photography client? We’re both in SoCal and I need some new photos done. Or maybe a nearby referral if you happen to have one.

I understand you aren’t doing pro photo shoots anymore, but figured I’d ask! I’m anything but a muscle god, just a regular guy next door you would never know does this work looking at me on the street, but I have my own modest appeal…😉

Sexy shots sorely needed.

Yes, absolutely.... It would be my absolute pleasure to help you. I have three special spots that I love to photograph people at here in Southern California.....  a very secluded beach with no man made structures visible, dunes in the desert that look like the Sahara or Gobi desert and and another cool spot where I photographed Mitchell Rock and Z. Atlas. Let me tell you... some of the work I'm most proud of has come by way of photographing people who aren't ultra muscular,  that's not what makes a photograph beautiful. We can do something that we're both extremely proud of.

I've worked with a lot of photographers who work in trade.  i.e. You let them shoot you in exchange for their use of the images.  Most of them are open to restrictions within that.

Kevin D Hoover is an excellent one.  Jim Cox, if you're in LA or Palm Springs.  James Loy (James Rated X) in LA.  Anotherselfmachine in NYC.  BernardG in Jersey City.  Chris Crisco in NYC.  Sam Devries in NYC.  Covet Image in Chicago.

I haven't been on nearly as much over the last week with requirements.    Missed this recommendation.    Thank you.   I have several to check out and really appreciate some of the input I have received.    Thanks very much!
