I did a tickling session for a client one time. He wanted a tickle massage. Thanks for your response. I’m just curious how you found tickling the client to be more tiring than massaging. I’ve done a fair bit of both and find giving massages gets much more tiring after a while!

I think it’s that with massage I use my body weight to generate pressure, and whilst I use fingers some of the time I also mix in use of heel of hand, forearms, elbows etc so it’s not all hand work whereas with tickling it’s just all hand work, or it felt that way. My hands got tired.

Also I think it was mentally tiring because it’s not something I normally do so I was thinking a lot. When I do sensual massage I do it ‘in the zone’; I’m hardly thinking…just feeling and sensing if that makes sense. I get into a flow. So for me giving massage is relaxing I find it meditative whereas doing the tickle massage was hard work both physically and mentally. I think other masseurs would say similar, hence they’d charge more.

Yes massage can vary a lot.
