David_CALH has been around for a while, with such frequent name changes that he must be a member here. He also moves around a lot. With all of his name changes, I can't search for past threads on him. Even with all these warning signs, I'm wondering whether anyone here ever took the leap with him, and, if so, yay or nay?

since he always uses a variation of the same name, you can do a wildcard search (David_*) to find past threads -- https://www.companyofmen.org/search/?q=david_*&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=82&updated_after=any&sortby=newest&search_and_or=or

most recent one was less than a week ago with previous username(s): https://companyofmen.org/topic/144496-411-david_hnol/

someone in that thread mentioned that name changes won't be allowed after Aug 1, so hopefully the shenanigans will stop.

edit: to answer your actual question, i haven't actually met him. talked about it when he was in town, but didn't happen.

Thank you. I didn't know about wildcard searches. Obviously.

To answer your original question @musclvr, I think a fair summary of the consensus of people here who have interacted with him on line and/or in person is that he is a good guy. I contacted him on RM messenger (not his preferred comms channel) and received a perfectly civil reply (and keeping the message in my messenger feed allows me to keep track of his current handle without buddy listing him). If he and I were in the same town, New York minute is a term that comes to mind.

Thank you very much for the thoughtful response. Reading through the previous threads on him thanks to the tip from MikeH10, the frequent name changes relate to not wanting to be a topic of conversation etc. on here. I guess inadvertently my posting will trigger another change, which wasn't my intent.

Indeed! While I understand his 'keep out of view' policy, I don't think positive comments in here are the worst thing even if he chooses to ignore them or distance himself from them. I would love him to talk to us here but completely understand if he chooses not to do so.

I've also met him and enjoyed my time. Like @shawshini, I didn't bring up any of the Forum talk with him.

The funny thing was our text exchange the day we met. I typically don't do same-day appointments and had asked him about meeting up the next day. As we were texting, my schedule changed and we agreed to meet that evening. We had a very pleasant back-and-forth for the remainder of the afternoon. Very naturally-flowing conversation. He's one of my better hires and I would hire him again if he visited Phoenix or I was visiting a city he was also visiting.

He’s a nice guy and I book him whenever he comes to NYC but as is already mentioned on here he doesn’t like being mentioned on this forum due to harassment from users that have never met him in the past and other problems that have happened on here. I’ve seen my share of it and I understand his point. I remember that DaveOrDavid kept linking his profile in one of the older profiles in the past like he is now. But he prefers his privacy and he’s not a fan of this forum and does a name change whenever he’s mentioned and linked.

Yaaaaa, I know him personally and get what he’s mentioned to me. Considering how things have played out in the past I highly doubt he would. I’ve seen the drama personally on here role out of control in the past and that has already spooked him from wanting to get involved. This had been ongoing for years now what’s been going on with users and him.
